  • What is the length of our payload fairing (top of the rocket 🚀 ) for the most powerful configuration of the European launcher Ariane 6, with four boosters? On Thursday, February 12, the first Ariane 6 rocket with four boosters lifted off from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana, carrying 32 Amazon Leo internet satellites 🛰️ into orbit. It was the sixth flight of an Ariane 6 rocket. The previous five launches featured the Ariane 6 rocket in a two-booster configuration. Our payload fairing protects satellites from the thermal, acoustic and aerodynamic stresses on the ascent to space. Once in orbit, the nose cone fairing splits into two.

Withstanding 1500°Celsius 🔥 🚀 Our high-temperature thermal insulation protected the rocket engines of the European launcher Ariane 6 during its first flight with four boosters last week. The Vulcain 2.1 main stage engine was protected by our insulation from the extreme heat that can reach 1,500° Celsius, which is hot enough to melt iron. We also provided thermal vacuum insulation tents for the reignitable upper stage. On Thursday, February 12, the first Ariane 6 rocket with four boosters lifted off from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana, carrying 32 Amazon Leo internet satellites 🛰️ into orbit. • On Thursday, our dispenser system released further 32 Amazon internet satellites into orbit. This brings the total number of Amazon Leo satellites to 212. Our dispenser system from our site in Linköping, Sweden, has deployed all of those satellites. The initial constellation will comprise more than 3,000 Amazon Leo satellites. What a fascinating launch 🚀 For the first time, the Ariane 6 lifted off with four boosters. It successfully placed 32Amazon Leo internet satellites 🛰️ into orbit using our dispenser system. During journey into space, the satellites were protected by our 20-meter-long payload fairing — the large version designed for the Ariane 6 with four boosters. Our high-temperature insulation protected parts of the rocket engines on the main and upper stages ofARIANESPACEArianeGroup Ariane 6. Our gimbal mechanism aligned the upper stage engine precisely during flight, enabling thrust vector control. • Don’t miss today's first flight of Ariane 6 with four boosters featuring the maiden flight of our large, 20-meter-long payload fairing 👇 🚀 The two halves of the fairing will separate around three minutes after liftoff (the launch window opens at 17:45 CET today) 👉 🎥https://lnkd.in/dukPhWAp We also provided high-temperature insulation for the main and upper stages of Europe’s launch vehicle as well as a gimbal mechanism and the dispenser system that will release the 32 Amazon internet satellites into space. This will increase the number ofAmazon Leo satellites to 212. The initial constellation will comprise more than 3,000 Amazon Leo satellites. The launcher will carry a total payload of around 20 tons. • Tomorrow is the big day: for the first time, the largest version of our payload fairing for the Ariane 6 rocket 🚀will fly into space. Our 20-meter-long fairing will be used on the maiden flight of theArianeGroup Ariane 6 with four boosters. It will protect the 32Amazon Leo internet satellites 🛰️ during launch and flight into space. The five previous Ariane 6 flights were carried out in a configuration with two boosters and our 14-meter-high payload fairing. Our larger payload fairing weighs 2.6 tons, the smaller 1.8 ton, both have a diameter of 5.4 meters. Once in space, our nose-cone splits into two, allowing the deployment of the satellites later on. Each shell of our payload fairing is manufactured as a single piece from carbon fibre material and cured in an industrial oven at our facility in Emmen, Switzerland.More 👉https://lnkd.in/d9gB2vcTImage credit: ESA, Arianespace.

On Thursday, the Ariane 6 European launcher 🚀 is set to make its first flight in its full configuration - with four boosters. The previous five launches were conducted with two boosters. The four-booster configuration of Ariane 6 doubles the rocket’s performance compared to the two-booster rocket. We provided several key components to the rocket. With four boosters Ariane 6 can deliver around 21.6 tons to low Earth orbit — more than double the 10.3 tons it could carry with two boosters. The launch takes place from Europe's spaceport in French Guiana (South America). Read the launch kit fromARIANESPACE to learn more 👇https://lnkd.in/dBu3nUXt(c) ESA–D. Ducros

Take a look at this beauty produced and delivered by our Beyond Gravity team in Decatur to our partnerUnited Launch Alliance (ULA). We are proud to be involved in the upcoming Vulcan launch with several of our products. One of these products is the payload fairing, which appears almost weightless during final preparations in this photo. We look forward to the launch and wish our customer every success.#rocketscience#USSF-87#Vulcan#GoVulcan#GoBeyondGravity

United Launch Alliance is now in final preparations for our next Vulcan launch with attachment of the USSF-87 payload to the rocket. The launch, planned for Feb. 12, could not be more critical. With space being the new battlefield high ground, ULA will help to protect U.S. national security orbital assets by launching a "neighborhood watch" surveillance system directly into geosynchronous orbit. USSF-87 will also set new Vulcan performance and endurance records during this launch. Learn more in our blog:https://lnkd.in/e-t7QE_SPhotos:https://lnkd.in/e6WpBmbT Launch info:bit.ly/vulcan_ussf87

  • Beyond Gravity is proud to partner with HSLU in the PiBS pilot program Mechanical Satellite Solutions. 🚀 Recently,Alexandra Isele,Salomé Grünig, andStefan H. represented Beyond Gravity at theHSLU Hochschule Luzern for an information event on the PiBS (practice-integrated bachelor’s degree) program. PiBS allows students to combine their bachelor’s studies with hands-on satellite projects from day one. As part of Beyond Gravity’s pilot project “Mechanical Satellite Solutions”, students gain practical insights into assembly, mechanics, testing, and M&P.During the event, Salomé Grünig and Alex Isele presented this talent pipeline to students, parents, and interested partners, showcasing how engineering skills today help shape tomorrow’s space exploration. The day offered a comprehensive overview of the program and its opportunities for aspiring engineers.“Through this PiBS pilot, we’re investing in the next generation of engineers and specialists, bolstering Switzerland as a high-tech space hub, and creating a sustainable talent pipeline for the future.” –Alexandra Isele#PiBS#HSLU#AerospaceEngineering#SwissSpace#EngineeringTalent#SpaceCareers#STEM#BeyondGravity
