Another absolute pig of a conversion from Lyndon & Arseociates. An ugly, slow and tedious attempt at a conversion of a pretty awful arcade machine. This is horrific stuff with terrible scrolling and worse collision detection. A stinker...AVOID!

Awful, hideous, sub-standard attempt to make a shoot'em up with annoying sounds. I couldn't endure more than 10 seconds of it.

A very below average shooter with bland gfx, blippy SFX and a grating tune! It loops back to the beginning at the end too! 'Nuff said.:yuck:

Let's face it: Commie games are not about graphics in the first place, but a shoot 'em up has to deliver spaced out graphics and music. If it fails on these, it doesn't work. That's why Side Arms doesn't work.

Don't be fooled, Side Arms is awesome, and the C64 version is quite nice. Not quite as graphically sharp as other versions, but still the pain in the ass it was in the arcades. It ain't R-Type, but it is still a very good game.

For some reason I really liked this game years ago. I can't understand why - you just fly up and down while shooting like crazy. Wow... That's fun...

Pretty nice graphics and sound but no big hit in game-play. Zybex and Jetboys are far better.
