Leiden Ranking Traditional Edition
TheLeiden Ranking Traditional Edition provides bibliometric indicators based on theWeb of Science database. The 2025 release includes over1500 universities worldwide. The Traditional Edition is based on overtwo decades of experience of our center in compiling university-level bibliometric analytics.
Leiden Ranking Open Edition
TheLeiden Ranking Open Edition, launched in 2024, provides bibliometric indicators based on theOpenAlex database. The 2025 release includes over2800 universities worldwide. Unlike the Traditional Edition, the Open Edition is based on open data, offeringfully transparent analytics and supporting amore inclusive perspective on the global university landscape.
