Recently, two students from the 1L Immigration Law and Advocacy Clinic, Samina Singh ’28 and Sofia Casillas ’28 (pictured above), sat down for their very first client meeting with a client who is seeking asylum. They collected documents, answered the client’s questions about her upcoming hearing, and took notes in preparation for a second interview next week.

Interested in joining one of the many clinics we offer on campus? The 1L Immigration Law and Advocacy Clinic is designed to provide first-year law students with the experience of counseling clients on immigration cases, performing research and writing for real cases, and engaging in community advocacy on emerging immigration issues.

Central New York high school students, who are part of @cornell_upwardbound, recently spent the day at Cornell Law getting a firsthand look at life as a lawyer. They met with current law students and professors, explored what law school is like, and even stepped into the courtroom for a mock trial. An inspiring, hands-on experience for all who participated.
