Actor James Stewart, 87, slipped and fell Thursday night at his Beverly Hills home and was taken to a hospital, a Beverly Hills Police Department spokesman said.
The injury was not serious, the spokesman said.
The name of the hospital where Stewart was taken was not released.
The actor fell at his house about 8:30 p.m., and Beverly Hills Fire Department paramedics took him from there to the hospital. Stewart won an Academy Award for “The Philadelphia Story” and starred in the Christmas classic “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
He was nominated for best actor Oscars four other times and won a lifetime achievement award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1984.
