Iryna Somer is Kyiv Post special correspondent in Brussels. She has been based in Belgium, where the headquarters of NATO and the European Union are located, since 2005, first as a correspondent for Interfax News Agency and then, since 2014, for UNIAN news agency. She has covered many international events, including the annual Munich Security Conference, NATO summits, and peace talks in the Normandy Format to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.
