TheTortolunk (トータラスTōtarasu) is a large enemy introduced inKid Icarus: Uprising. Despite its unwieldy appearance, this creature is deceptively fast when attacking.
Characteristics
A reptilian monster, the Tortolunk looks like a colorful three-legged tortoise wearing armor. It is a large and brutal foe, sporting a bulky shell with a rotating drill sticking out of its top. As expected, however, the creature is normally very slow-moving, although it doesn’t actually walk at all. Rather, its three legs produce continuous vibrations, essentially allowing the beast to “slide” along the ground. Despite it being slow when moving normally, the real danger comes from its primary attack, which has the Tortolunk jumping on its back to spin like a top towards its targets. Suddenly, this monster becomes very fast and dangerous, with the only draw being that it can’t change direction at all during its attack. In addition, the monster is impervious to projectiles while spinning, but it will also be left completely vulnerable once it slows down.

Tortolunks are uncommon enemies that first appear duringThe Reaper's Line of Sight. These monsters are most dangerous when accompanied by other enemies, as their deceptively quick attack movement can catchPit off guard. Otherwise, when encountered alone, their attacks can actually be dodged quite easily.
Idol Description
A turtle-like member of the Underworld. Armed with a rock-hard shell, Tortolunk likes to flip on its back and spin like a top, lashing out with its massive arms. This spinning leaves Tortolunks dizzy and vulnerable to attack.
