Wellspring, also calledEnergy orPower^[1], is a material type introduced inKingdom Hearts. Energy materials contain the essences ofspirit andpower combined, energy, and courage.

InKingdom Hearts II andKingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, they are "modifier" materials that can be added to a recipe to halve the materials needed to make it, and are usable once themoogle reaches level 2 inKingdom Hearts II, and level 4 inKingdom Hearts Melody of Memory.

InKingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Wellspring materials can be used duringCommand Meld to attach abilities that effect the length of combos.

InKingdom Hearts II, once all Energy materials are obtained the moogle will rewardSora with aPower Boost.

Design[edit]

Wellspring materials are colored purple, and contain cyan lightningbolt patterns. A Wellspring Shard is a smooth, vaguely triangular jewel with two large prongs on its top and two small, slightly curved spikes on its sides. A Wellspring Stone consists of a smooth, vaguely triangular jewel with three spikes on its top, with a large crescent-shaped attachment on the left, and a smaller crescent-shaped jewel on the right. A Wellspring Gem consists of a smooth, vaguely triangular jewel with a short spike on its top, with two intersecting crescent-shaped attachments at the bottom. A Wellspring Crystal consists of a center that is composed of three oval shapes fused together, with a large curving spike and smaller crescent-shaped attachment on three sides.

The material's name refers to the essence of energy it contains.
