Vidar is a character inKingdom Hearts Dark Road. He is one of the upperclassmen.

Kingdom Hearts Dark Road[edit]

Prior toXehanort’s arrival at Scala ad Caelum, Vidar trained there under MasterOdin and became good friends withHoder. On a group mission to theEnchanted Dominion, Hoder is separated from the other upperclassmen. While looking for her, Vidar suggests that they split the party, and as a result, many of the upperclassmen are slain in a trap set by the truedarkness, including Hoder.Episode 7: Reason for Disappearance

Vidar talks about the power of Kingdom Hearts with Master Odin.

After Vidar learned of Hoder’s death, he immediately sought revenge. Vidar discovers that the true darkness has takenBaldr as a vessel and that the only way to destroy it is to sacrifice Baldr. Vidar cannot harm him, knowing that Hoder cares deeply for her brother and it would be against her wishes. Instead, Vidar sought another way to destroy the threat and constructed a plan to summonKingdom Hearts. Against Master Odin's orders, he enlists his classmates to help him and begins to collect sevenlights.

Despite initially being willing to risk everything by summoning Kingdom Hearts, Vidar halts his plans when he sees that Baldr has been completely taken over by the darkness. Vidar expresses remorse, feeling responsible for Hoder’s death, Baldr’s grief, and now, the deaths of his classmates at the darkness's hand. He and his friends decide to put an end to the true darkness by taking Baldr’s life but are slain by aHringhornHeartless summoned by Baldr. As Vidar is lying down, light fading, Xehanort kneels beside him. With his final words, Vidar apologizes and passes on his mission to Xehanort. Hisbody perishes, hisheart floating away.

Design[edit]

Vidar is a dark-skinned youth with hazel eyes and short, swept-back brown hair. Like his classmates, there is a traditional Japanese influence in his style of dress. He wears a dusty blue coat with gold trim which evokes the style of a samurai'skamishimo, with short sleeves that are curved out over the shoulders. Around his waist is a blackobi, with a long yellow sash wrapped around it and tied off at the left side. Underneath, he wears a high-collared black shirt and baggy black pants stuffed into tall black boots with pointed tops and gold trim. A whiteTerra's Mark charm is attached to a silver chain hanging at his waist. He wears long, fingerless black gloves, with his right glove being shorter and having two bands above it on his arm, and his left glove having a buckle, criss-crossed gold chain, and darker cuffs, and overlaying white bandages.

Víðarr is a deity in Norse mythology, known for seeking vengeance for his father's death.
