Terk is a female gorilla who lives inDeep Jungle. She appears inKingdom Hearts. Terk isTarzan's best friend, as well as cousin through his adopted mother,Kala. She is very mischievous and curious aboutJane Porter andClayton's species and lifestyle, but at times has "emotional constipations".

Kingdom Hearts[edit]

Terk lives in Deep Jungle among the other gorillas and is one of Tarzan's childhood friends. Terk is frightened upon coming face-to-face withDonald Duck. Terk drops aGummi Block which is picked up by Donald. Terk is almost shot by Clayton while she is playing in the Tree House (Clayton defended himself by saying that he was aiming at a snake that slithered by). Terk later flees from theHeartless and runs into Jane. When Clayton imprisons Jane in the treetops, Terk is by her side.

After the defeat of Clayton, Terk witnessesSora sealing theKeyhole. She seems to develop a soft spot for Donald and nuzzles him, but he protests, worried about whatDaisy might say or do.

Unlike in the film, the gorillas do not speak (even when Tarzan is speaking to them), and Terk's only spoken lines are a shocked yell at Donald and a grunt when she bumps into Jane.

Design[edit]

Terk is a young, female gorilla with dark hair, grey skin, and brown eyes. Other than her size, which is relatively small due to her age, Terk can be easily distinguished from other gorillas by the crest of hair that falls over the top of her head.

Personality[edit]

Terk is extremely watchful of the young gorillas, acting as their leader. Unlike her brethren, she is more inquisitive than afraid of humans or outsiders of any kind. She develops a soft spot for Donald and later helps rescue Jane from the Heartless.

Origin[edit]

Terk originates in Disney's 1999 film,Tarzan, voiced byRosie O'Donnell. Terk has a great curiosity about humans, and is very accepting of Tarzan despite initially considering him a pest, becoming his best friend along with an elephant named Tantor. Despite the fact that their shenanigans often lead to trouble for themselves and others, she helps Tarzan on multiple occasions. She takes it as a personal offense when Tarzan decides to go back to London with Jane, later persuaded to help him during the final battle with Clayton and his thugs by Tantor, who has grown tired of the young gorilla's "emotional constipation."
