ThePicture is a key item that appears inKingdom Hearts II. It is a photo ofRoxas,Hayner,Pence, andOlette standing outside the Old Mansion that was taken inThe Other Twilight Town. Along with theIce Cream, this item comes intoSora's possession after theBattle of the 1000 Heartless.
Story[edit]
Kingdom Hearts II[edit]
On the first day Roxas spends in The Other Twilight Town, news of a memory thief who steals the memory of the word "picture" and physical pictures, including the picture of Roxas and his friends in front of the Old Mansion, from its citizens has spread around town.Seifer accuses Roxas and his friends as the thieves, causing the townsfolk to treat them with suspicion.[1] In an effort to clear their names, Roxas proposes they find the real thief.[2]
After regaining the trust of the vendors in town, Roxas and co. goes to the Sandlot to confront Seifer. Once Roxas defeats Seifer in a fight, Pence takes a picture, but aDusk appears and steals the photo from him. Roxas chases the Dusk to theOld Mansion and attempts to fight the Dusk, but is unable to hit it. Suddenly, theKeyblade appears in his hand and gives him the ability to vanquish the Dusk, allowing Roxas to take the stolen pictures back to the Usual Spot. However, when he returns the photo to his friends, Roxas does not recall fighting the Dusk and claims that the pictures were lying in front of the Old Mansion.[3]
After Sora awakens, the photos are gone. During the end of theBattle of the 1000 Heartless, a cloakedRiku-Ansem leaves behind a box with the photo of Roxas and his friends andsea-salt ice cream as a clue for Sora about Roxas. Theparty returns to Twilight Town because Pence, Hayner, and Olette find a computer that might help findKairi, and when they get to The Other Twilight Town, Sora has a memory of Roxas smashing the computer.
Kingdom Hearts III[edit]
The Picture appears once again when Sora, Donald, and Goofy return to Twilight Town and meet up with Hayner, Pence, and Olette. Sora shows them the photo when he explains who Roxas is to the crew. Though the three do not recall who Roxas is, they all decide to help Sora in reviving Roxas.
