Gear
Gears (ギア, Gia?) are part of thePanel System featured inKingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. These panels change the form of the playable character's weapons, serving as a replacement of theKeychain system of previous games. Most Gears have room to attachUnits (ユニット, Yunitto?), which boost the weapon's stats or unlock hidden abilities.

Gearless weapon[edit]
Agearless weapon is the user's default and most basic weapon, with nothing setting it apart. Most Organization members' gearless weapons share a dull grey color scheme and a simple design.

Pandora's Gear[edit]
ThePandora's Gear ⑤ (パンドラギア⑤, Pandora Gia ⑤?, lit. "Pandora Gear ⑤") can be purchased for 10000 Heart Points at the Moogle Shop, once everySecret Report has been obtained.[1] It can also be found as thePandora's Gear+ ⑤, which is obtained through panel synthesis. When equipped, it transforms the user's weapon into a more formidable form, with exceptional capabilities. The Pandora's Gear ⑤ grants theRisky Play ability.
For Organization members, this Gear grants them two of their most powerful weapons; the color scheme is the same for all of the Organization's weapons provided by the Pandora's Gear, consisting of black, gold, and blue or red. Sora, Donald, and Goofy get a weapon based on an Organization member's signature weapon,Riku gets Roxas'sOblivion, andMickey gets his originalKeyblade, theStar Seeker.

Zero Gear[edit]
TheZero Gear ⑤ (ゼロギア⑤, Zero Gia ⑤?) can be purchased for 30000 Heart Points at the Moogle Shop, once Roxas is promoted to Legend rank. It is emblazoned with theNobody insignia and transforms the user's weapon into a very powerful form that draws forth its wielder's true worth.
The Zero Gear grants the Organization members their signature weapons. For Roxas, it grants him theKingdom Key+ by default,Oathkeeper with oneAbility Unit, andTwo Become One with two. In Story Mode, three Ability Units revert his weapon back into Kingdom Key+, while in Mission Mode, it allows him to dual-wieldOathkeeper & Oblivion. Xion's Zero Gear works as Roxas's does in Story Mode.Sora,Donald, andGoofy get their Dream weapons, which has the odd effect of treating theDream Sword as a Keyblade.Riku gets his signature Keyblade,Way to the Dawn, and Mickey gets a stronger version of his Keyblade calledKingdom Key DΩ.
Casual Gear[edit]
TheCasual Gear ② (カジュアルギア②, Kajuaru Gia ②?) can be redeemed for 15 Challenge Sigils at the Moogle Shop. When equipped, it transforms the user's weapon into an "awfully familiar" form, i.e., a joke weapon such as anumbrella or abroom.
Mystery Gear[edit]
TheMystery Gear ③ (ミステリーギア③, Misuterī Gia ③?) can be redeemed for 60 Mission Crowns at the Moogle Shop. When equipped, it transforms the user's weapon into one that "draws forth its wielder's personality."
