- "Every Keyblade master is bequeathed a Keyblade of his very own. With the passing of time, as you can imagine, more and more Keyblades were forged to be handed down. But of all the Keyblades in existence, Master Xehanort's is the most ancient."
- —Young Xehanort on his future self's Keyblade.
TheNo Name, also known asMaster Xehanort's Keyblade (マスター・ゼアノートのキーブレード, Masutā Zeanōto no Kīburēdo?) andThe Gazing Eye (見つめる目, Mitsumeru Me?), is the default form ofLuxu'sKeyblade that appears inKingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep,Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance,Kingdom Hearts χ, andKingdom Hearts III. It was handed down over time, becoming the most ancient surviving Keyblade, and eventually came into the possession ofOdin and his apprentice,Xehanort, who continued to wield it when he becameTerra-Xehanort. A digital simulation of the Keyblade is wielded byNo Heart, theMirage Arena simulation of Xehanort. It is also utilized by theReplica Xehanorts.
Story[edit]
Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover[edit]
The Keyblade was given toLuxu by theMaster of Masters when he received his assignment. The Master had placed his ownGazing Eye within the blade, granting him the knowledge of anything the eye would observe throughout the ages. Luxu initially misunderstood the Master's explanation as the Keyblade being named the "Gazing Eye", but when the Master clarified that the Keyblade had "no name", Luxu playfully named it accordingly. In order to spread its purview and write theBook of Prophecies, he assigned Luxu and the Keyblade the role of leaving town with a mysteriousBlack Box, becoming a neutral observer to the events that would soon rockDaybreak Town, and passing down the Keyblade to his own apprentices so that it would survive through the ages.[1]
Kingdom Hearts χ[edit]

Per Luxu's assignment, the Keyblade was passed down from master to apprentice,Destiny with Luxu transferring hisheart from vessel to vessel to keep watch over the Keyblade.Secret Reports No Name was also used as a medium for the Union leaders to travel into the future, along with Luxu’s memories.
Kingdom Hearts Dark Road[edit]
DuringXehanort andEraqus's apprenticeship atScala ad Caelum, the No Name was used by their Keyblade Master,Odin, who primarily hangs it above his desk. At the end of his Mark of Mastery exam, Xehanort inherits the No Name.
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep[edit]
Master Xehanort does not often draw his Keyblade, but when he needs to engage in battle or use the Keyblade's powers, he uses this Keychain to do so.
WhenTerra,Ventus, andAqua confront him at the Keyblade Graveyard, Master Xehanort transforms his Keyblade into an orb oflight and uses it to revealKingdom Hearts floating above.[2] Afterward, he uses his blade to battle Terra and trick the youth into embracingdarkness, allowing him to extract his own heart and possess Terra'sbody. This gestalt being,Terra-Xehanort, retains usage of this Keyblade and wields it against theLingering Will at the Keyblade Graveyard and Aqua atRadiant Garden. When Terra's heart begins throwing off Xehanort's control, Terra-Xehanort is forced to use this Keyblade on his body in an attempt to rid himself of Terra's heart.[3]
BetweenKingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep andKingdom Hearts[edit]
During the descent of Radiant Garden into darkness, Terra-Xehanort regains this Keyblade and uses it to transformAnsem the Wise's apprentices into the founding members ofOrganization XIII.Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance
Kingdom Hearts Re:coded[edit]
Following his revival,Braig speaks with the time-travelingYoung Xehanort about Master Xehanort's plans. Over the course of this conversation, Young Xehanort mentions that this Keyblade is the most ancient Keyblade of all.Destiny
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance[edit]
In order to preventRiku from rescuingSora, Master Xehanort possesses his younger self and wields his Keyblade with adifferent Keychain. Once Master Xehanort has completely revived, he wields his Keyblade personally with its traditional Keychain, and attempts to place a fragment of his heart inside Sora's comatose body.
Kingdom Hearts III[edit]
Master Xehanort uses the No Name during the final battle to fend off Sora and Riku from interfering with his ascent to Kingdom Hearts and forming theχ-blade. Terra-Xehanort also wields the No Name, first at the Graveyard's entrance in order to confront the Guardians, and later within the labyrinth against Sora, Ventus, and Aqua, fight in which he teams up withVanitas.
Each clash of theseven guardians of light with thethirteen seekers of darkness creates a replica of the No Name around Master Xehanort's high spot over the labyrinth, of which thirteen are needed in order to forge theχ-blade. By finishing offKairi and provoking Sora's rage, he causes the last clash between Sora and himself, thereby creating a thirteenth No Name and turning his own into the χ-blade. Later, he summons this Keyblade withinScala ad Caelum upon assuming his armored form. Xehanort discards it in favor of the χ-blade for his final fight against Sora.
TheReplica Xehanorts also wield the No Name. When they first encounter Sora at Scala ad Caelum, only Terra-Xehanort's replica wields the No Name. Later, when they confront the other Guardians in the skies of the Keyblade Graveyard, all twelve wield the No Name. After they fuse into Armored Xehanort to fight future Sora and Kairi, they control their No Names telekinetically while wielding a thirteenth No Name in hand.Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
After Xehanort's defeat,Xigbar, Luxu's vessel, regains ownership of the No Name, wielding it while he called theforetellers to his location in the Keyblade Graveyard.
Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory[edit]
In a memory-based replica ofThe Final World, a vision of Master Xehanort wields the No Name when attacking Kairi.
Design[edit]
The No Name has a dark black handle with a raised spiral carved around it. Its pommel and guard resemble black, demonic wings. The base of the blade is an etching of a goat,[?][4] and the shaft is formed from two black, barbed blades, etched with a white icon resembling a bramble of thorns. The teeth are formed in the shape of a demonic wing, and are set with the Master'sGazing Eye. Unlike the Keyblades of theMaster of Masters' other apprentices, it lacksTerra's Mark. The Keychain is made of small, grey links, and the token is an entangled, grey talisman with an additional Gazing Eye.
While the hit sounds have remained the same throughKingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep andKingdom Hearts III, the hit sounds played when used byTerra-Xehanort in the former game are different.
The Keychain can Formchange into an impenetrable barrier, a claw-like weapon, a pair of gauntlets andgreaves, a pair of wings that allow flight, or an orb of light.
