Joshamee Gibbs is a character inKingdom Hearts III. He originated in Disney'sPirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
Story[edit]
Kingdom Hearts III[edit]
Gibbs goes withWilliam Turner,Elizabeth Swann,Hector Barbossa andTia Dalma to Davy Jones' Locker. There, Gibbs reunites withJack Sparrow and also meetsSora,Donald, andGoofy. Jack, in a state of delirium, berates Gibbs for lack of discipline in his crew. The confused Gibbs informs Jack that they are in Davy Jones locker, informing him of the Brethren Court being called. While Jack originally wanted to leave Will, Elizabeth, and Barbossa behind, Gibbs was one of the few people Jack wanted to take back to the world of the living.
Upon escaping the locker, Gibbs spots theHeartless attacking theBlack Pearl. While Sora defeats them, they become separated from the rest of the crew. Upon reuniting, Gibbs and the crew prepare to do battle against Jones and theFlying Dutchman.
After Davy Jones is defeated, Gibbs informs Jack that the Beckett's ship,Endeavour, and the royal navy armada are approaching, suggesting they retreat. However, Jack orders the crew to sail against the armada, where theFlying Dutchman rises from the depths, with Will in command. Together, thePearl andDutchman destroy theEndeavour, killing Cutler Beckett.
As the crew celebrates their victory, Gibbs informs Sora that Will is now bound to theDutchman, only being able to spend one day with Elizabeth before sailing to sea for ten years. Afterwards, Gibbs provides a longboat for Elizabeth to travel ashore to spend her one day with Will, where she bids him and everyone farewell before leaving.
Sometime after Xehanort's defeat, at Port Royal, Jack and Gibbs spot Barbossa sailing away with theBlack Pearl in the distance, leaving only a dinghy in its place.
Design[edit]
Gibbs is an aged man with grey hair and a beard which connects to his hair with sideburns. He wears a white long-sleeved shirt rolled up to his forearms with a pale blue-grey vest over it. He has a large black belt, tan pants and black boots.

Joshamee Gibbs first appeared in the 2003 filmPirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, portrayed by Kevin McNally. He is a good friend of Jack Sparrow and also serves as his first mate.
