Drain (ドレイン, Dorein?) is an ability introduced inKingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. It allows the user to restore HP when landing attacks. InKingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, this is done through theDrain status effect.
Mechanics[edit]
InKingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Drain is anenemy card effect that allows Sora to regain HP equivalent to 1/8 of the target's remaining HP (max recovery is 20) when striking enemies withattack cards, in exchange for enemies dropping 25% fewer EXP items. It costs 35 CP to add to the deck and lasts for one reload.
InKingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Drain is an ability that restores the user's HP by 1/4 of the damage dealt with regular attacks.
InKingdom Hearts Re:coded, Drain is anOverclock ability that allowsData-Sora to recover HP when striking enemies with basicattacks.
InKingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Drain is amagic command that gives one ally the Drain status for 10 seconds, which applies on the Attack command.

Etymology[edit]
Drain is a recurring Black Magic spell in theFinal Fantasy series. It absorbs HP from the target to refill the caster's HP.
There are weapons and abilities in theFinal Fantasy series with similar effects to Drain inKingdom Hearts, such asDrain Blade.
