Bragi is a character inKingdom Hearts Dark Road. A vessel of the ancientKeyblade MasterLuxu, he poses as one ofXehanort andEraqus's classmates and fellowKeyblade wielder.
Story[edit]
BeforeKingdom Hearts Dark Road[edit]
As some point, Luxu comes across Bragi and chooses him to be his next vessel to continue his mission.
Kingdom Hearts Dark Road[edit]
Bragi and his classmates inScala ad Caelum are summoned byMaster Odin to investigate the unexplained disappearance of upperclassmen who were visiting other worlds in preparation for theirMark of Mastery exam. This is an unusual task, as lower class students are not typically allowed to travel betweenworlds.
When it comes time to set off, Bragi suggests letting Xehanort take the lead, since Xehanort comes from the outside world, unlike his fellow students who have never left Scala ad Caelum.
The group exploresAgrabah,Wonderland,Beast's Castle, and other worlds, eventually encountering the upperclassmen and their own missing classmate,Baldr. They discover the upperclassmen, led byVidar, are attempting to steal key items from each world to upset the balance of the world's order, hoping to draw out pure light and summonKingdom Hearts. They also learn that Baldr's sisterHoder was killed protecting Baldr fromMaleficent. The group visitsOlympus Coliseum to venture to theUnderworld, believing thatHades will be able to summon the spirits of the lost upperclassmen to learn more. There, the wielders split up; Bragi accompanies Eraqus and Xehanort, and the three encounterCerberus. Baldr arrives to help and helps Bragi defeat Cerberus, while Xehanort and Eraqus continue ahead.
Though the two Keyblade wielders defeat Cerberus, Bragi has become suspicious of Baldr, believing him to harbor great darkness. His suspicious were correct, and Baldr confronts Bragi. However, Bragi swiftly overpowers Baldr with unprecedented strength. Instead of continuing the conflict, Bragi chooses to disappear; he walks away, never to be seen by any of his classmates again.
Later, Baldr launches an attack on Scala ad Caelum. In the tower, he tells Vor that Bragi died at his hands along with the other wielders. Even after Baldr's eventual defeat, Bragi is believed to be dead by Xehanort, Eraqus, and Odin, and a gravestone is erected for him in Scala ad Caelum.
One month later, Luxu walks the graveyard of Scala ad Caelum wearing ablack coat. He laments on not having found the chosen one yet, but remarks Xehanort could be useful. Luxu removes his hood, revealing Bragi's face. Although he has decided to keep this vessel for the time being, he notes that Bragi's supposed death will make it hard to show his face.
Design[edit]
Bragi is a young man with catlike red-brown eyes and windswept ginger hair which is mostly swept over to his left side. He wears a high-collared black shirt and a black jacket resembling a Japanese martial artsgi, with a wide grey belt and two criss-crossing tan straps that form an "X" with a whiteTerra's Mark pendant at the intersection, as well as loose black pants and black sneakers with white laces and soles. Over this, he wears a loose, hooded blue jacket with white lapels and white fur lining the hood.
Bragi's Keyblade Armor is orange-red and adorned with fur at the shoulders, with a bronze Terra's Mark emblem on his forehead. The fins of his helmet stretch very high, resembling the helmet of Terra's armor. His wrist gauntlets also have a very pointed fin.
In Norse mythology,Bragi was a name given to several characters associated with poetry.
Personality[edit]
Though Bragi acts aloof, he possesses great passion and enthusiasm. He often asks Xehanort for his opinion on various matters, whether out of respect or to gauge his intent.
As Bragi is secretly a vessel of Luxu, he shares certain characteristics with the Lost Master. In his showdown with Baldr, Bragi has the same aloof cockiness as Luxu's next vessel,Braig (and by extension, hisNobody,Xigbar), including their catchphrase, "As if."
Abilities[edit]
Like his classmates, Bragi wields theKeyblade. In battle, he specializes in defense and focuses on defending his allies.
