You are considered a first-year student if you have not enrolled at another college or university since graduating from high school and are ready to enroll at Kent State. Your application and all required materials must be submitted seven days before the start of the semester.

International Students
Undergraduate International First-Year Students
As a new, first-year undergraduate international applicant, you must finish secondary school in your home country by the time of enrollment to be eligible for university. Select this option to apply for an associate or bachelor’s degree.
Undergraduate International Transfer Students
If you have previously taken post-secondary or college-level courses, or if you are already enrolled in a post-secondary (higher education) institution, then you are required to apply as a transfer student.
Graduate International Students
Choose this option if you are interested in pursuing a graduate degree (master’s or doctoral). Please note that admission requirements and deadlines will vary from program to program.
English as a Second Language
Choose this option if you want to improve your English at our ESL Center. If you intend to enter a degree program under Conditional Admission, please apply directly to the degree program.
