The shoot-out at the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Arizona, occurred on October 26, 1881. The incident steemed from feuding between the Clanton and Earp families. Wyatt Earp, two of his brothers and "Doc" Holliday gunned down two Clantons and two others. This photograph of John Henry "Doc" Holliday, was taken, possibly, when he was in Tombstone, Arizona. He came west to find a better climate to treat tuberculosis and opened a dental office in Dallas, Texas. Because of the disease, some of his patients were reluctant to use his services, so Holliday found it more profitable to gamble. He became friends with Virgil, Morgan, and Wyatt Earp and developed a reputation as a gunfighter. Eventually, Holliday moved to Tombstone, Arizona where he and the Earps were involved in several altercations including the famous Gunfight at OK Corral. He died on November 8, 1887 at the age of 36.
