Brett Holmgren (LinkedIn) is a former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Intelligence and Research and former acting Director of the National Counterterrorism Center.

He served as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Intelligence Programs from 2015-2017, and held several positions on the National Security Council staff. He has also served as Special Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Defense, and began his career as a CIA counterterrorism analyst.
