Published on January 6, 2025

We are delighted to announce thatJust Security is establishing an Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies (AIET) Initiative focused on the challenges and opportunities presented by transformative technologies.Brianna Rosen, Senior Fellow atJust Security, will serve as the inaugural director.

The AIET Initiative aims to provide rigorous analysis on the impact of rapidly advancing technology for security, democracy, foreign policy, and rights. In an effort to foster dialogue between the technology and policymaking communities,Just Security,in partnership with the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government, will launch AIET with a high-level speaker series bringing together government officials, industry leaders, and academic experts to develop critical insights for shaping a secure digital future.

Since joiningJust Security in 2021, Dr. Rosen has authored numerous articles on AI, national security, counterterrorism, civilian harm, and related issues. She has advised the U.S. and U.K. governments on the global governance of AI, participated in expert meetings for the United Nations Secretary-General’s High-Level Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence, and representedJust Security at the globalsummit on Responsible Artificial Intelligence in the Military Domain, held in South Korea last year.

We look forward to your views and feedback as we expand our coverage of major developments in technology policy. Be sure to check outJust Security’sAI archive and keep an eye out for more updates on the AIET Initiative.
