GitHub is currently the largest open-source software development platform. More than 56 million developers from around the world collaborate here on thousands of projects for the benefit of a wide variety of industries. For example, in the first four months after the pandemic began, more than 67,000 projects related to COVID-19 were created to help fight the disease.

According to the State of the Octoverse 2020 report, the number of developers on GitHub will reach 100 million by 2025. Therefore, we can expect a significant increase in the number of open-source projects in the coming years.
