Sam Varghese has been writing for iTWire since 2006, a year after the site came into existence. WikiLeaks founder and publisher Julian Assange has been freed from prison on Monday and left the UK as part of a plea deal, reports say.

Australia's mainstream media groups are trying to pressure the government in order to obtain funding to cover the $70 million that was provided by Facebook in a deal in 2021 and which the social media group has saidit will not renew when the deal lapses later this year.
