The Sudan faces an ongoing conflict that has impacted livelihoods, destroyed health-care infrastructure, triggered extreme hunger and displacement, and exacerbated protection risks. Mixed cross-border flows into neighbouring countries have created new humanitarian needs and deepened existing ones.
IOM is delivering an integrated, multisectoral response that includes shelter, transport, water, sanitation, hygiene, protection and cash assistance, while investing in resilience and stabilization to reinforce humanitarian gains. The IOM non-food item common pipeline and Rapid Response Fund empower local partners to deliver in hard-to-reach areas of the Sudan. Meanwhile, its Displacement Tracking Matrix provides reliable and systematic data to enable an evidence-based response from the broader humanitarian community. Across the neighbouring countries, IOM leverages its extensive regional footprint and operational expertise to support people and governments in managing the mobility dimensions of the ongoing crisis.
In a context marred by conflict, famine, natural hazards and displacement, IOM stands in solidarity with the Sudanese people and commits itself to action that matches the scale of their needs. Across the region, IOM is committed to saving lives and protecting people on the move, while finding solutions to displacement and facilitating pathways for regular migration.
