INTERPOL plays a unique role in supporting international efforts to safeguard vulnerable communities and make the world a safer place.
key fact

Marginalized or underserved communities face higher risks of exploitation due to unequal access to support, resources, and protection.

The issues

Sexual abuse, exploitation, harassment, trafficking: these are just some of the threats faced by women, children and men around the world today. These risks are even greater for those who are marginalized or otherwise made vulnerable by their circumstances.

At INTERPOL, we work to address those crimes that have an international dimension.

We recognize the crucial role played by the aid sector, child protection units, social services, and law enforcement entities in our member countries, and regularly engage and involve them in our activities.

This ensures that vulnerable communities receive proper attention, care, and dignity throughout investigations and operations.

Our support includes strengthening the capacity of law enforcement, aid sector entities and specialized units while also providing access to a range of INTERPOL tools and expertise to detect and investigate these crimes.
