Glossary Term Quantitative Trait Locus (QTL)
Definition
  1. A heritable genetic region that affects a measurable characteristic of the animal (e.g., body weight or blood pressure).
  2. The type ofmarker described by statistical association to quantitative variation in a particularphenotypic trait that is thought to be controlled by the cumulative action ofalleles at multipleloci.
