Glossary Term LOD score
Definition A statistical estimate of whether twoloci are likely to lie near each other on achromosome and are therefore likely to be inherited together. Lod stands for "log of the odds ratio." In this case, the odds ratio is the likelihood that twomarkers are linked divided by the likelihood that they are not linked. A LOD score of three or more is generally taken to indicate that the two loci are close.
