Incredible Documentary About the Liverpool Music Scene

Liverpool wasn't just all about the Beatles and this superb, immersive documentary takes you through the history and culture of the Mersey music scene. Interviews with so many legends and experts. Essential viewing for music fans, and entertaining and informative for even the most casual viewer.

    Documentary on Liverpool music scene

This is not & never promoted as a Beatles documentary. It is about the Liverpool music scene which must discuss the biggest band to ever come from Liverpool. Although I don't know who this film's target audience was.

My biggest issue is that they throw out or mention dozens of band names but no music for most. Most are totally unknown here in the states and even some of my British friends never heard of many. Useless info for nearly all of us.

They discuss a few clubs like The Cavern Club & Eric's but provide almost no background. The original Cavern Club was demolished in 1973, so every mention of the Cavern after that is a completely different club but I don't remember them mentioning that important fact.

Many of the people that were interviewed I have no idea who they are. So their opinions carry little weight to the conversation.

There are a few bits of interesting information but only a few. Pretty useless excuse of a documentary.
