Firaxis is now part of Take-Two's2K Games publishing label. 2K Games recently publishedCivilization IV for the PC and Sid Meier's Pirates! for Xbox.

The Firaxis team remains intact and will maintain its offices outside Baltimore, MD. The purchase does not affect the studio's current development plans.
Meier and Briggs founded Firaxis Games in 1996. Along with its recent hits, Firaxis created Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, Sid Meier's Civilization III, and Sid Meier's Gettysburg!
