India’s state power producer NHPC, formerly the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation, invites bids by 3 December for the hydro-mechanical works package for the 520 MW Teesta VI hydropower project in the north-eastern state of Sikkim.
Online electronic bids are invited on an international competitive bidding (ICB) basis for Lot-3 Hydromechanical Works Package of Teesta HE Project, Stage-IV, comprising port handling and clearance for imported goods, inland transportation, installation, testing and commissioning including performance testing of all equipment and materials (including mandatory spares parts and tools). The contracted works are expected to be completed within 52 months of contract signing.
The run-of-river project in Sirwani village in southern Sikkim is expected to generate average annual output of 2400 GWh. The project will comprise: a 34.5 m-high dam with four spillways and radial gates; four independent straight type intake structures; four desilting chambers; two headrace tunnels; two underground restricted orifice type surge shafts; two steel lined pressure shafts; an underground powerhouse cavern housing four vertical Francis turbine units, each with a capacity of 125 MW; and, two tailrace tunnels to discharge the water back into the river Teesta. AF Consult has assisted NHPC in reviewing detailed project reports, system optimization, tender design and drawings for civil works, basic design and engineering for the electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical works and preparation of tender documents and will evaluate the bids.
Tender documents are available upon the payment of a non-refundable fee of INR 10 000 in favour of NHPC, Faridabad, by way of demand draft. Bids are to be carried out through the website of the Central Public Procurement Portal ateprocure.gov.in. A pre-bid conference will be held on 7 November at the below-mentioned offices of NHPC.
