Luka Doncic Posts Triple-Double In EuroBasket

Lakers superstarLuka Doncic notched a rare triple-double in the EuroBasket tournament on Sunday. He scored 26 points, had 11 assists and grabbed 10 rebounds in Slovenia’s 86-69 victory over Belgium in Poland. According toThe Associated Press, the triple-double was the fourth in EuroBasket history since 1995 and fifth overall.

Doncic also became the youngest player to reach 400 career EuroBasket points sinceTony Parker in 2007.

“This is a normal day at the office for him,” Slovenia small forwardEdo Muric said of Doncic.“I’m even more glad that today we showed we can play good defense. And that we won.”

The Slovenian team lost to Poland and France in their first two tournament games.

“For me, I’d prefer he score 50,” Belgium coach Dario Gjergja said, perDan Woike of The Athletic.“To be honest, I’d prefer he score 50 but the others don’t execute … because he’s capable to make everybody better, never mind about quality around him. And this is why he’s a superstar.”

Doncic scored a combined 73 points in Slovenia’s first two games.

“It’s not about me being perfect. I think everybody, you know, we lose as a team, we win as a team,” he said.

Slovenia’s tournament schedule continues Tuesday against Iceland before the group stage concludes Thursday against Israel. The top four teams from each six-team group advance to the single-elimination portion of the tournament in Latvia.

   When has he ever been perfect. Who has really. I get English is not his native language. This just speaks to the privilege of the OneWay Wonder.
   At 26 he has decided to get in shape. Maybe he will decide to play D this year. He is what’s wrong with NBA. A maxed out 1way player.

           Any 1way player. Who is allowed to get away with it. Is what’s wrong with NBA. Luka doesn’t even try. He argues with ref more than he plays D. Not all players are good defenders. Team D is something everyone can play. You can’t earn respect from your team or L. If you think you are above playing D.
           SGA is best offensive player in NBA. And he’s top 10 defender in NBA. You going to compare OneWay Wonder to MJ or Kobe. These are max players. Curry plays good team D. Bron has won playoff games with his D. NO 1Way Player deserves a max contract in NBA. Especially one who doesn’t even try.

               Joker plays D. He’s not a shot blocker. He defends the middle with size and smarts. Luka doesn’t even run back on D at times. No PRO player should ever do that.
               Harden is a 1way player. When he was MVP he was almost as bad as Luka. Even today as bad as he is. I still think he tries more than Luka. Young is a 1way pkayer. But gets beat cause his suze. He still tries more than Luka.
               I get offense sells. It’s why QBs get all the money. This ain’t the NFL. NBA you have to make stops to win games. And especially if you want to win chips. Sends a bad message when you say Luka and SGA are stars worth the same money. That’s all BS. This is a 2way sport. And contracts should reflect that ….

               Defensive rebounding is part of good D. Jokic is one of best. Team D is is what does well. He’s not Embiid on D. But he can hold his own. As long as a guy trues. You can help him and make him look good. Luka blatantly doesn’t play it lol. That’s unacceptable to me. He could be top 5 offensive player. Yet be wirst player on court defensively.
               How can that possibly be max money. Imo most fans don’t even understand what defense is in NBA. Fact Luka has decided to lose 30lbs at 26 yrs old. Should tell you something.
               Jokic didn’t become the Joker till he lost weight either lol. Efforst isn’t something we should have to ask you to do …. 60 mill to argue with refs all game. I could never gave that on my team.

                 You talk about benefits of getting defensive rebounds. Did you know that year after year that Doncic is the only non-center to be in the top twenty for averaging the most rebounds?

                 Also, advanced metrics show that Doncic is above average defender.
