‘West Wing’ Meets White House: Allison Janney Greets Reporters in Press Room

A reporter asked Janney whom President Bartlet from her old show would be supporting for the Democratic nomination. "I think you know the answer to that," responded Janney.

WASHINGTON (AP) — AllisonJanney played a White House press secretary onThe West Wing. On Friday, she got a chance to do the real thing.

Janney won four Emmy Awards for playing C.J.Cregg and now stars onMom, for which she has won twoEmmys.

She took the podium normally reserved for spokesman Josh Earnest and told reporters she hoped to bring attention to the nation’sopioid epidemic.

Janney said addiction is a disease that can touch anybody. She noted the White House would be recognizing 10 people from across the country for their work to prevent prescription-drug abuse.

A reporter askedJanney whom PresidentBartlet from her old show would be supporting for the Democratic nomination. RespondedJanney, “I think you know the answer to that.”
