Star TV India Launches Five HD Channels

The net also unveils its new logo.

Star India launched high definition services of five channels on its service including Hindi channels StarPlus, Star Gold and English entertainment outlets Star Movies and Star World alongwith Nat Geo. This is a first for a mass entertainment channel like Star Plus to be available in HD.

Star also unveiled its new corporate logo, Hot Star.

Star’s HD channels will be available to viewers with a HD TV set via Direct To Home (DTH) services like Tata Sky HD.

“With Star’s massively popular entertainment channels turning HD, a high definition revolution is set to kick start in India. This is just a glimpse of a slew of exciting initiatives, we will roll out in coming months,” said Star India CEOUday Shankar.
