Slednecks hails from Zoo Productions, All3Media America and Parallel Entertainment and, likeBuckwild, focuses on a group of “outdoor tough” friends.John Stevens andEli Holzman came up with the concept and will executive produce the series alongsideJenny NovakandMike Lang. The series pickup comes a year afterMTV canceledBuckwildfollowing starShainGandee‘s death in a “mudding” accident in West Virginia. Parallel’sJ.P. Williamsblasted MTV for axing the show, which was an early ratings hit for the network. “This is the network that has shows about teen pregnancy. They’ll stick by a show that allows you to abandon a child, but a kid dies by accident doing what he does for a living [mudding], and they cancel the show?” he toldTHRlast year. “There’s something that smells of s— here on every level.” MTV subsequentlyrefused to allow the producers to shop the canceled show.

The presentation — hosted byGirl Code‘sNicole Byer andGuy Code‘sAndrew Schulz andCharlamagne and featuring performances byBastille,Paramore,EDMandZedd — also offered a first look at the network’s upcoming scripted dramasEye CandyandFinding Carter, which bows Tuesday, July 8 at 10 p.m.

The rest of MTV’s summer shapes up as follows:9 Days and Nights(June 10 at 11 p.m.);Teen Wolfseason four (June 23 at 10 p.m.);Finding Carter(July 8 at 10 p.m.);Ridiculousness(July 10 at 10 p.m.); andSnack-Off(July 10 at 10:30 p.m.).

TheReal Worldrenewal comes as little surprise following season 29’s twist to add exes into the equation. Its February return scored the franchise’s best ratings in three years. The exact format of season 30 will be revealed at a later date.

Meanwhile, at Viacom-owned Logo — which in the past year has become more fully integrated with MTV’s leadership following thedeparture of GMLisa Sherman — the LGBT-themed network has ordered new seriesThe Secret Guide to Fabulous Living from exec producersKelly Ripa andMark Consuelos‘ Milojo Productions. The half-hour comedic how-to series will feature experts offering tips on how to live a stylish life including home décor, wardrobe, dinner parties and more.
