Apple’s ‘Central Park’ Gets Early Season 3 Renewal
The animated musical comedy from 'Bob's Burgers' creator Loren Bouchard gets an early pickup, plus reveals a preview of season two.
Apple TV+ has given an early season three renewal to its animated musical comedyCentral Park, plus released a first look at the upcoming second season.
The Emmy-nominated series from creators Loren Bouchard(Bob’s Burgers), Josh Gad and Nora Smith will drop its first three episodes of season two on Friday, June 25.
“Seasons two and three of Central Park mean 29 more episodes, and something like a 115 new songs — a hundred and fifteen! ” wrote Bouchard in a statement. “The people who make this show dazzle me with their talent and ambition and sheer will. And Apple and 20th have shown their will too! I’m honored to be a part of something with this much chutzpah.”
Here’s an early look at season two where Helen (voiced by Daveed Diggs) proclaims her love for her hometown:
The second season voice cast includes Gad, Leslie Odom Jr., Emmy Raver-Lampman, Kathryn Hahn, Tituss Burgess and Stanley Tucci. Disney’s 20th Television is the studio.
In the second season, “the Tillerman family continues to navigate living in and caring for the world’s most famous park. Molly experiences the trials and tribulations of adolescence, Cole is challenged by a truly embarrassing moment at school, Paige continues to chase down the Mayor’s corruption story, and Owen juggles managing the park, his staff, and his family all with a smile on his face. Meanwhile, Bitsy inches ever closer to her sinister goal of claiming Central Park as her own; with Helen by her side, eternally wondering whether she’s made it into Bitsy’s will.”
Central Park received an Emmy nomination for star Odom Jr., and is also nominated for this year’s NAACP Image Awards in the Outstanding Animated Series category.
