‘Arrow’ Enlists ‘Battlestar Galactica’s’ Tahmoh Penikett

He'll appear as Tom Salvati, the right hand man to the mob boss father to Helena Bertinelli (aka The Huntress).

Arrowis continuing to up its geek cred.

The upcoming CW superhero drama has enlistedBattlestar GalacticaandDollhousealumTahmoh Penikett,The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Penikett will play Tom Salvati, the right-hand man to mob boss Frank Bertinelli (who will be played by the previously announced Jeffrey Nordling).

Of note: Bertinelli’s character is the father to Helena Bertinelli, aka famed DC Comics characterThe Huntress (Jessica De Gouw), who in the CW series is dead-set on exacting revenge against those who killed her family as well as a potential love interest to starStephen Amell‘s Oliver/Green Arrow.

The Huntress will first appear in the sixth episode of the freshman series, which premieres next month. The network is keeping a lid on whether Penikett’s role will be a one-off guest turn or recurring as well as when he’d first surface.  

Penikett joins fellow fan favoriteJohn Barrowman on the drama, fromGreg Berlanti,Marc Guggenheim andAndrew Kreisberg. Barrowman willrecur and play a mysterious and wealthy guy who is an acquaintance of the Queen family and prominent figure in Starling City.

The CW series stars Stephen Amell (Private Practice) as Oliver Queen/Arrow, a hooded vigilante who returns home to Starling City five years after being presumed dead from a boating crash to carry out revenge upon the people who have transformed his hometown from the sprawling city it once was.

GreenArrowTV.com first spotted the news, which was firstannounced on Penikett’s Facebook page.

Arrowpremieres Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. on the CW.
