MOUZ beat an addledG2 in a three-map series withAllan"Rejin" Petersen standing in for two maps to top the fifth iteration of cs_summit.
MOUZ won the fifth cs_summit in a grand final marred byFinn"karrigan" Andersen’s mid-series departure. The Danish in-game leader had to leave to the airport after hisMOUZ won the first map in overtime to catch a flight to Ukraine where he will get a visa in order to make it to Moscow later this week for EPICENTER. mouz, who already showed up to Los Angeles, California, withNiels Christian"NaToSaphiX" Sillassen standing in forÖzgür"woxic" Eker, managed to get the best ofG2 using their coach,Rejin, as their fifth, to keep their tournament streak going after victories at CAC 2019 and ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals.
Three kills byNemanja"nexa" Isaković on the CT-side pistol round of Mirage gotG2 ahead onMOUZ’ pick, but they were unable to follow it up askarrigan and company were successful in a forcebuy play on B.Robin"ropz" Kool hit 10 kills after the first four rounds, with 3-1 on the scoreboard for his team, and was off to a hot start. The two teams then traded rounds, but several failed attempts on the A site brought it back within one, 5-6, but a loss to an eco keptG2 behind, with mouz going on to win the half 9-6.
G2 tied it up before the first gun round in the second half, but both teams settled into an even 12-12 as the first map started to hit critical rounds. It was finally mouz who were able to get ahead, with bothropz andDavid"frozen" Čerňanský over 100 ADR, butG2 brought it back to a tie in the thirtieth round to push it to overtime. After a 2-1 CT half,MOUZ were able to close out Mirage on the attack, but as soon as the map endedkarrigan packed up his gear and left to the airport.
An A take byG2 kicked Vertigo off, with the Franco-Serbian side able to increase their lead to 4-0 after the first gun round, this time after planting the bomb on the B site. WithRejin standing in forkarrigan,G2 quickly took the reins of the map and started to steamroll their opposition. Up 9-0,François"amanek" Delaunay secured a 1vs4 afterplant clutch on A, the site thatG2 had hit over and over again, adding insult to injury. mouz managed to take one round in the first half, but a 1vs1 afterplant clutch byKenny"kennyS" Schrub in the second pistol round pushed the final to the decider.
MOUZ were not able to build momentum despite winning the T-side pistol round on Train asG2 got back on track, winning the forcebuy.Chris"chrisJ" de Jong andropz got a second round for their team with doubles, which got mouz back in the game as they went on to take five rounds on the attacking side. A triple byNaToSaphiX helpedMOUZ win the second pistol round, but they were unable to follow it up againstG2’s five Galils. The map took a dark turn for the French team, however, as they kept hitting a wall against the CTs, eventually losing toMOUZ, 14-16, letting their first chance at victory with this roster slip away.
