Watchmaker was the shipboardAI for the destroyerUNSCGorgon. His avatar's appearance was that of a small man holding a giant pocket watch, which had a dozen hands and dials.

He worked withCaptainPreston J. Cole in several engagements during theInsurrection. The most notable was during theskirmish at theTheta Ursae Majoris System on June 2,2501, where theInsurrectionist-captured frigateBellicose fought theGorgon to a draw.[1]

Watchmaker's name may be intended as a reference to a famous quote by Albert Einstein in which he stated, "The release of atomic power has changed everything except our way of thinking ... the solution to this problem lies in the heart of mankind. If only I had known, I should have become awatchmaker."
