In1597, a Japanesefleet of 133 was defeated by 13 ships commanded by AdmiralYi Sun-sin at theMyeongnyang Strait.^[3]

Japan remained politically and culturally isolated for several centuries before going through a technological and economic renewal in the 1800s.^[1]

DuringWorld War II,Isoroku Yamamoto crippled theUS Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor.^[3] The war came to a close withhumanity's first use ofnuclear weapons atHiroshima andNagasaki.^[4] The bomb at Hiroshima lefta domed structure still standing.^[2]

Japan is crowded and economically volatile. It is, however, consequently well-endowed with scientists, economists, and global culturalism, making it technologically advanced as well. Japan has always held a great amount of sway in humanity's decision making process, and this did not change under theUNSC.^[1]
