The Acura ILX (Canada)
The Acura ILX was Acura’s entry-level compact executive sedan sold in Canada from the 2013 model year until its discontinuation after the 2022 model year. Replacing the Canada‑only Acura CSX, the ILX was based on the ninth‑generation Honda Civic platform but featured unique styling and upscale equipment. It was assembled in Greensburg, Indiana, for 2013–2014 and in Marysville, Ohio, from 2015 onward. With the introduction of the 2023 Integra liftback, the ILX was phased out.
Model Overview
The ILX launched with a choice of three four‑cylinder powertrains: a 2.0‑litre 150‑hp engine paired with a five‑speed automatic, a sportier 2.4‑litre 201‑hp engine with a six‑speed manual, and Acura’s first hybrid variant using a 1.5‑litre engine and battery-assisted drive. All models were front‑wheel drive and offered Premium and Technology packages with leather seats, navigation, premium audio, and advanced safety aids. A significant update for 2016 consolidated the range around a 2.4‑litre direct‑injection engine mated to an eight‑speed dual‑clutch transmission, boosting performance and fuel efficiency. For 2019 Acura applied its “Diamond Pentagon” grille design and updated the headlights, bumpers, infotainment system, and standard AcuraWatch driver‑assist technology.
Throughout its life, the ILX remained Acura’s gateway sedan. However, shifting market tastes toward crossovers and the arrival of the new Integra hatchback led Acura to discontinue the ILX after the 2022 model year.
Canadian Sales Performance
Sales of the ILX in Canada peaked early, reflecting initial interest in the new entry‑luxury sedan. Demand softened in later years as the market shifted toward SUVs and crossovers. The tables below provide annual and monthly Canadian sales data along with year‑over‑year growth, using manufacturer‑reported figures. These sales tables are generated using the existing wpDataTables shortcodes and should remain in place.
