GLFW is an Open Source, multi-platform library for OpenGL, OpenGL ES andVulkan development on the desktop. It provides a simple API for creatingwindows, contexts and surfaces, receiving input and events.
GLFW is written in C and supports Windows, macOS, Wayland and X11.
GLFW is licensed under thezlib/libpng license.

No library can be perfect for everyone. If GLFW isn’t what you’re looking for, there arealternatives.
GLFW 3.4 isavailable for download.
This is a smaller feature release, as a basis for future work.
It adds runtime platform selection, better support for Wayland, both Waylandand X11 enabled by default, more standard cursor shapes, custom heap allocatorsupport, per-window mouse input passthrough, window title query, a conformingNull platform available everywhere, window hints for initial position, new(harmless) errors informing about missing features, several platform-specifichints, a new native-access function, a hint for selecting ANGLE backend, variousother minor features and fixes for issue on all supported platforms.
GLFW 3.4 uses the Visual Studio 2013 subset of C99 and will not compile withVisual Studio 2012 or earlier.
GLFW 3.3.10 isavailable for download.
This is a bug fix release. It adds fixes for issues on all supported platforms.
Binaries for Visual C++ 2010 and 2012 are no longer included. These versionsare no longer supported by Microsoft and should not be used. This release ofGLFW can still be compiled with them if necessary, but future releases will dropthis support.
Binaries for the original MinGW distribution are no longer included. MinGWappears to no longer be maintained and should not be used. The much morecapable MinGW-w64 project should be used instead. This release of GLFW canstill be compiled with the original MinGW if necessary, but future releases willdrop this support.
GLFW 3.3.9 isavailable for download.
This is primarily a bug fix release for all supported platforms but it also addslibdecor support forWayland. This provides better window decorations in some desktop environments, notably GNOME.
With this release GLFW should be fully usable on Wayland, although there arestill some issues left to resolve.
