Native Client is a client implementation forApache Geode that does not require the Javaserver JARs.

Directions to build Native Client from source can be found in the source distribution inBUILDING.md.

Native Client applications can be written in these client technologies:

• C++
• .NET Framework

Geode Native follows theSemantic Versioning 2.0.0 specification (semver). Thisspecification only addresses theAPI compatibility with libraries and does notcoverABI compatibility.

ABI compatibility is not preserved similarly to the API compatibility. ABI compatibility is only guaranteed betweenpatch releases. Recompilation is required for both minor and major releases.

The U.S. Government Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS),has classified this software as Export Commodity Control Number (ECCN) 5D002.C.1,which includes information security software using or performingcryptographic functions with asymmetric algorithms.The form and manner of this Apache Software Foundation distribution makesit eligible for export under the License ExceptionENC Technology Software Unrestricted (TSU) exception(see the BIS Export Administration Regulations, Section 740.13)for both object code and source code.
