Simply stunning on hot humid days.... Literally crave fragrance on hot days gorgeous sweet woodsy intense smell all day long... So many compliments.. ... Unbelievable quality.. ....
Freedomlover10/14/20 04:33
I feel even more lucky now that I stocked up on lots of bottles when they were clearing this out of the stores along with exclusive oud and noble Amber.... The cashier laughed when I had about 15 bottles of these three fragrances..... Lol..... But now I'm in hmmmmmmmmmmm fragrance heaven when I wear these....
Victorchachi04/23/20 09:57
@albkelly99 To say that they don't share similarities is quite a misrepresentation of reality. In fact, after having used both for a couple of times, and even having them on both my arms to compare at the moment of typing, I must admit that "toned down version" of Ambre Noble is quite a good description of the smell. Ambre Noble is very opulent and not for the faint of heart, so for all of those who maybe prefer shorter sillages, like myself, Wood Noir is a better option. In fact, you coudl say that Ambre Noble has a top layer which is what makes it different from Wood Noir when you smell both at the same time.
Next time, rather than saying that I am "tripping" you could just give your opinion on the smell so people can get a proper mental image of what you mean.
Victorchachi02/09/20 07:34
My opinion completely changed about this after using it for a couple of months, from being my least favorite of the line to becoming my favourite out of the three. Its versatility is what sold it to me in the long run. While maybe Exclusive Oud or Ambre Noble are more of a shock at first sniff, Wood Noir is a slow killer, which becomes an acquired taste and one that usually becomes an option in those colder environments in which you don't want to be the center of attention, but still want to smell like class in a bottle.
Think of a fireplace and people drinking hot chocolate around it, and you'll get a quite perfect representation of this smell. Warm, comforting and sweet, but not too sweet.
9/10.

Super long lasting and good sillage. Smells like Gucci Intense Oud a little bit. It has the fresh sharpness and not dark dirty oud. Just more like Fresh woody.
Worth the hundred dollars price of niche quality. I didnt know Zara can come out with this gorgeous one.
Must buy!
rosequeen03/09/19 17:13
Disappointing. The realm of the insufficiently woody. Not Robert Piguet (Bois Noir) without all the French words. More citrus and herbal than wood. The leather bottle motif is just plain distracting.
The fragrance might work on a hot day in the summer though, but I'm wearing it on a cold rainy spring day and it's just not doing it. It's not horrible though, just not woody enough, and it lasts 6+ hours.
Edit June 2019: Just sprayed some on after trimming/battling an overgrown bird of paradise bush on an 80 degree afternoon, and Wood Noir is definitely better in the heat. Cuts the heat and leaves a woody enough finish. It won't replace Acqua di Gio for me, but I will use it for this purpose.
radoslavgatev01/26/19 04:33
How can you find this one now?
dragonfruit201501/04/19 18:03
Another Zara master piece. Simply gorgeous and luxurious smell. And for the price you have to feel guilty even thinking of complaining about anything you might find as a flaw.
albkelly9908/22/18 07:35
wood noir is unbelievable to me in that it combines a very rich depth of woods whilst being completely fresh at the same time [not a light freshness but more robust]. this fragrance can be worn in all seasons perhaps just not on the very hottest of days. performance is spectacular
whoever blended this did a masterful job. simply superb
Grateful07/04/18 13:39
Class in a bottle, I enjoyed it last winter & still have enough for couple of more seasons, I like it.
chairat.luck.pluem06/01/18 07:32
Wood Noir by Zara is a Woody fragrance for men. Nice one from Zara..This is same collection as this one and Exclusive Oud.
In my opinion Zara wood noir is same as Christian Dior collection privee "Bois d' argent" same just a few not so much!
JanneMan4504/11/18 11:25
@Zeljo: I Think you ment: Ambre Noble
That was in the same collection as this one and Exclusive Oud
ZELJO04/11/18 11:18
why the wonderful Amber wood of this same collection is not in Fragantica,s archives? loved this one,Tom Fords vibes, still got a half full bottle, pity its discontinued...
dragonfruit201503/31/18 07:32
bought this at the store for their usual low prices. hard to believe how their prices can be so low when others charge so much for fragrances that often fail to deliver. for the money, this is outstanding! get it if you can.
smellsbells02/18/18 09:17
they should make zara more avail in usa online/ebay. I like a few but at 40-50 a pop is too much.
Carlitos02/18/18 09:12
I will try to be brief and concise.
This is an outstanding fragrance.
Dark, woody, a bit sweet.
Do blind buy it. It's that good. I have 3 flasks.
aet02/12/18 06:05
This is a very good fragrance. The quality of the ingredients and the skill in how they are blended are both high and belie the low price point of this fragrance. This would not be out of place alongside several niche or higher end designer line fragrances. That being said, this is NOT a blind buy. the initial "woody" notes flow into a very rosy floral vibe which could be off putting to some. I myself had some issues with it. Luckily, it mellows into a more "oudy" scent which is brightened by the florals who, in turn, have now lost a little of their rosiness. From that point forward was a very pleasant scent. All around a good effort from Zara.
styles01/20/18 15:29
Bleu de Chanel + Oud
Chazas01/12/18 12:20
I get a huge dose of sweet like Rose, Saffron and Lavender. To me it feels and smells more like women's fragrance rather then men's, at least not as masculine as the name implies. I get a slight resemblance vibe of Armaf - Club de Nuit Intense Women in the dry-down.
Wood Noir is really strong and long lasting, but for me it is by no means a woody fragrance, more a flowery, rose aspect with bergamot and spices.
For me all three Exclusive Oud, Wood Noir and Ambre Noble are similar in a way, all sharing the same vibe in the base and very linear.
Chazas12/29/17 03:16
Do not know about that, but Zara website sells old and new, yet both are EDP's.
Carlitos12/28/17 19:58
@ CHAZAS
The 2017 versions are EDPs. The older frags are EDTs
apunk200109/25/17 21:39
This is an absolute piece of Art by Zara a must own

Just like Oud Exlusive as Ambré Noble, Wood Noir has, compare to most scents of Zara, an extreme long longevity. For all three scents I was most impressed with Ambré Noble, still my favorite of all three of them, I bought that one just after it was introduced, almost 9 months now. I just recently purchased Exclusive Oud and last Sunday Wood Noir and a spare bottle of Ambré Noble. At start I thought that Exlusive Oud was a scent made for older men and not young enough and I thought that Wood Noir would not have the longevity the others have but I was mistaken, Wood Noir has a long longevity, just to test I sprayed some on my wrists in the early evening and next day after a hot shower, I could still smell a little of the scent I sprayed on my wrists the day before. I paid for all three of them just €17,95,- ( my older Ambre Noble was at €25 a bottle ) each which is for a descent scent like these a bargain, similar scents from luxurious brands with similar sillage and strong longevity are way more expensive. I just started buying again scents from Zara, refused to buy them for years because of poor longevity but recently the quality has improved a lot – it feels like Zara is changing its market to slightly higher clientele and implementing other brands like Berschka and Stradivarius for the lower quality items. Beside these three, I love the “clone” scents as well, Vibrant (and Rich )Leather, Aromatic Future and Gourmand Leather, 9.0 and one of the tobacco Zara scents. If Zara keeps introducing more of these better quality scents I’ll need to buy a larger wash table cabinet to stock all of them
Calvini03/05/17 14:32
This was instantly my favorite of the whole shelf, reminded me of a fairly decent rose-oud fragrance, but later realized it was a combination of herbs; unfortunately it does go from "a REAL bang for your buck!" to just so-so when it dries.
These can probably pass for one of the not-so-good Tom Ford Private Blends (only because of style similarities), but not Armani Privé; even the best of Zara feels hollow and unpolished.. Don't believe the hype, but yes it's really good for $30 (Can beat fragrances up to 4.5x the price).
ageofsillage03/01/17 06:42
I finally picked up my bottle of Wood Noir, I had no idea what to expect but considering the quality of Oud Exclusive (in the same collection), I was not worried at all. On first spray I was blown away! I get the woods (obviously), and then the florals, particularly the lavender, which softens things up (not sure what sage smells like yet so I cannot identify with that note). Great masculine scent that isn't too hardcore woody. The florals give it some gentleness that i think ladies would find appealing on a guy. In the first few min, I kept asking myself "how the hell is this 100ml bottle only $30 bucks!? It does not smell synthetic at all, and it has designer quality written all over it."
I've been testing it on my skin the past fews days and am thoroughly impressed with the performance. I put 2 sprays on my arm at 9pm and it was still detectable at 8am the next day! You cannot say the same for some designer releases. Hands down, this is the longest lasting Zara fragrance I own, I have yet to test Oud Exclusive. But guys, this is a no brainer blind buy at $30 if you guys can find it.
Glad to have this in my collection. Zara is making quite the statement with this release!
Update: went back to Zara and grabbed a backup bottle
Freedomlover02/24/17 13:55
@deetron i genuinely believe after trying niche and various high end fragrances that if you put this into say a tom Ford or armani prive bottle etc no one would ever doubt that it was a fragrance from a clothes retailer and selling for a fraction what the niche fragrances would price it for. Wood noir and exclusive oud to me are stunningly good the price is ridiculous you can't go wrong. Infact you'd be mad not to at least try it.
This is now my favourite even more than exclusive oud love the woody sweet and slightly citrus in the background. It's beautiful and very addictive. Keep smelling my wrist constantly.
Deetron02/24/17 13:49
@Freedomlover -shhhht! Someone from Zara may read what we are talking about here :)) I'm kidding
Seriously, Wood Noir is a nice release from Zara - western type of woody-aromatic scent, that have good performance. Quite elegant with a touch of a formal vibe. I like it a lot.
Freedomlover02/24/17 13:38
@ageofsillage trust me you won't be disappointed wood noir it's a beautiful fragrance i kept sniffing my wrists when i first tried it. It has a woody sweet zesty aroma and i was so drawn to it i bought a backup bottle the next day. After oud exclusive this is my favourite fragrance from zara. It's well blended and feels very high quality. I'm genuinely amazed that zara sell it so cheaply.
ageofsillage02/24/17 12:08
Picking up my bottle of Wood Noir tonight. Of the seven Zara stores in my region, only one had it lol. This will be my third Zara blind buy, following Rich Warm Addictive and Exclusive Oud. After trying and enjoying Ambre Noble and Oud Exclusive, I'm hoping Wood Noir will continue the streak! I hope Zara pushes out more stock of this specific collection to their stores.
Freedomlover02/20/17 12:49
Amazing fragrance smells way much more expensive than the price is selling for outstanding performance honestly it's such a quality fragrance you honestlyhave nothing to lose I've now got all the collection
Zara exclusive oud, noble amber and wood noir and they're all beautiful although zara exclusive oud is my favourite. Honestly if any of these were in a tom Ford bottle people would be praising the blend etc etc etc. Go to a zara site and prepare to be amazed a clothing store primarily making such quality fragrances for a fraction of the cost some niche fragrances sell for and by no means are they better.
Plantus02/14/17 02:18
I was blown away by the other scent from the collection, Exclusive Oud.
Naturally, I was very curious about Wood Noir but I was very disappointed after weeks of hopeless searching. It was discontinued and nowhere to be find.
I was very happy when I find out that Zara reissued this fragrance. So I got it instantly!
OK, I didn't know exactly what to expect, because the note description is quite non specific and I didn't tried Splendid Wood.
To my nose this smell exactly like I would expect The One Royal Night to smell. A more oriental and rich The One.
Performances are still solid, even if is very probably reformulated now.
I will update this review after few weeks, but for now I'm very impressed.
Rich Warm Addictive is nice but Exclusive Oud and this one, Wood Noir are by far my favorites fragrances from Zara.
JanneMan4502/08/17 07:03
Nice one from Zara. I got the new version with slightly different box and botlle without textures.
The smell is nice and not in your face from the start. To me it is not peppery at all. Holds more than 8 hours now on me, first few hours good projection.
Good one for € 17,95
Edit 9 feb 17: I sprayed it on 8 feb @ 07:45, that day @ 18:20 I was asked what fragrance I was wearing and got complimeted it smelled good (from 2 feet distance)
So apparently it still projects after 10 hours. Good performer !.
Got me a backup...
gankun09/02/16 15:10
to me it smells like a light version of Spicebomb. Subtract cinnamon, pepper notes and intense opening, you'll have this.
great sillage !
