My all time favorite in my collection of 90 🫶🫶🫶🫶

Elmarko100

I love love love the warmth and simplicity of this. But I’m on my second bottle and I still get trash performance out of this. Skin scent in an hour and completely gone in 3-4. I work in healthcare and I can’t have a strong sillage anyway but this disappears even by my standards

Juju7777

Holy fxxxx it’s so good!
(And SO underrated)

And123

Reminds me of Bentley for men intense.

Silverpepsiguy

For me it feels incomplete, something is missing.

Nova789K!

I’m just getting a lighter version of Ebene Fume. Originally when I first sprayed I was getting woods such as cedar and faint oak. Love Ebene Fume so all good.

Mikey4728

A very AVERAGE fragrance. Nothing special, nothing horrible.. It's a very dry woody fragrance and it's definitely manly.. Is it worth the $.. No. But, if you get a great deal, like $75 or less, sure, go for it. Another DISAPPOINTMENT from Tom Ford.. (Estee Lauder)...

jackson747

-Very woody
- Darker than most scents with sandalwood basenotes, but lighter than oud scents(esp tom ford)
- Masculine, but not to the point where wearing it under 30 would be weird
- Amber is main personal hesitation. Reminiscent of Prada Black's amber but higher qual.
-Not a date scent.Would be perf for Washington/Northeast sailing trips. Could be worn in an office, but it's a little sour to be worn casually.

DeepAsTime

I like it it’s manly

I went in not expecting much from this fragrance, but I was pleasantly surprised, it surpassed my expectations for sure. To me it smells like a more versatile, well rounded, spicier, and an all around upgrade to Ébène Fumé.

On my skin, it opens up with a pretty standard blast of smooth woods with a little incense behind it, but after a few minutes as it enters the mid, Cardamom comes to the forefront and accentuates the wood nicely, with a slight vanilla sweetness below the Cardamom to complete the addicting scent profile of this Frag.

It really does give me a kind kf cola vibe on my skin quite a lot, if you've tried the Indian soft drink known as "Thumbs Up" before (spiced cola), to me it very smells a fair bit like drinking that, while sitting in a place that has the fresh smell of oak wood.

It stays like this for around an hour and half-2hours, then the resins start to come out, and so to does the resemblance to Ébène Fumé, but unlike that (which gives me a headache in the dry down), Bois Pacifique smells extremely smooth and the resins are complimented really well by the lingering cardomon, still giving a cola-like feeling to the DNA.
The far drydown is more or less the same as the mid, with the main difference being the Cardamom and alight vanilla sweetness slowly fades, while the woody church kinda vibe slowly increases as the sole accord till the scent fizzles out.

Projection is rather mild which I personally like, as I prefer my fragrances to be in-between skin scents and medium projecting most of the time.
I got around 6-7 hours on my skin, but I'd say it could push up to 8-9 hours if you went heavier on the sprays.
As I said in the opening statement, I do think this is quite versatile, I'd personally wear it anytime aside from super hot and/or humid days in summer, this could work as a work fragrance as well in my opinion, but to each their own.
I also think that despite this being quite masculine imo, it could easily be pulled off by a woman.

Overall I'm quite impressed by this, and if I could get it for a decent discount, I'd most definitely consider a full bottle, Definitely worth trying if you're a fan of wood scents in my opinion.
Final verdict 8.8/10

RamenBandit

Gorgeous scent, smooth, woody with hints of incense - the best Tom Ford has put out in awhile. Reminds me of Tom Ford for Men Signature + Ebene Fume, best of both scents.

septemberlibra

This smells like every other niche brand with the same notes. Grating and not smooth. A hard pass for me.

Bois Pacifique is an amazing woody fragrance! I don't know if people are gatekeeping this or what, since it hasn't gotten the hype it deserves. To me it opens up as a sweet mix of PDM Sedley and Coca Cola which then settles into a luxurious woody scent complimented by frankincense and iris. Longevity is great, however the sillage is a bit subtle (don't expect it to fill a room) but still good enough. Overall great new versatile fragrance that can be worn all year round (yes even in the summer).

RoBoT

First impression, this is a very good masculine woody scent that could work year round.
After a few wearings, OMG, this stuff is absolutely addicting. The best designer mens fragrance in a long time, probably since GPH1.

jellybeantree

I’m a woman and I love this. I can’t get enough. Solid 8/10

Green02

I tried this in a perfume shop and a familiar scent came from somewhere. I wondered which perfume it resembled and what came out... Gucci Pour Homme or Bentley Absolude perfumes. This one is probably more expensive than them and smells the same... I liked the bottle and its scent is an attractive winter perfume.

Tom Sweep

Beautiful and refined, reminds me a bit of Hugo Boss Bottled Elixir with the strong incense and woods, except this is lighter and less spicy, and the woods are more realistic here. There's a nice subtle coca-cola element somewhere in here. I also love the little bit of turmeric here giving this a slight sharp spiciness in the opening.
Perfecrly suitable for fall, winter and spring.
High quality, a bit old-school, comforting woody fragrance. I love it.

Performance isn't bad, moderate at worst. This smells a lot like Bentley for men absolute with a little bit of Costa Azzurra. If you like Costa Azzurra this would be a great cold weather variation. If you like Bentley for Men absolute (or GPH1) then this is just more complex - a little less dark.

Kirkdonn

A fresh, salty, breezy drive down Highway 1 that lands in a majestic redwood forest. Subtle but impactful.

Dylp7707

It's our first chilly day in a month or so this spring, so I'm finally trying out a sample I got a while ago. Perfect for a cool, rainy, foggy mood like this. I love it.

Woody, spicy, and I'd say leaning distinctively more masculine. Reviews that say it's got a Coca-Cola vibe hit the nail on the head, particularly at the opening--that's very much what it smells like. After an hour or so I get much more wood and frankincense. The setting it evokes for me is sitting beside a fireplace in a wood cabin while rain drizzles through the fall woods outside. Now, I could be getting noseblind, but my sense on this first wear is that it's fading rather fast on skin, though I get whiffs occasionally.

What it reminds me of, and I didn't see anyone say this yet, is L'Homme Ideal EDP. There's no fruit listed in the notes here and this is indeed distinctively less sweet without the cherry, but I would describe this as having a similar feel, though perhaps more easily dressed down.

Worlingham

Really like the smell of this one, it's a dry but slightly sweet, wood amber (like Cedramber, Amber core etc) and soft sandalwood base.

My complaint would be that it feels more like the 'base' layer of a fragrance without the more characterful and projecting middle and sparkly fizz. As in, it feels like you've isolated the base notes / dry down of another fragrance like Ebene Fume or Myrrhe Mystere and removed the sparkle and projecting parts.

Probably more suited to people that want more of a 'skin scent' as I'm not sure I'd notice this on anyone unless I was in their neck, in fact sprayed right out the bottle it almost instantly smells like the drydown of a wood amber fragrance

Pilikins

Wow- this is an amazing unisex winter perfume. It smells so much like cane sugar Coca Cola- it is really delicious, sweet, and smokey but not too much of anything. It is also a bit like churches (the frankincense) but not in the dry choking way I dislike. This is a really good, sweet incense that lacks the usual cold, sickly resin smell that I find off-putting. This is a genuine work of art. The only problem is it doesn’t last long enough.

redskyatnight

Ok it's very fine...it's also got a big Coke-from-a-glass-bottle vibe for me. Like Dolce Vita pour homme? Gentle cardamom spice, a hint of sweetness, flavor complexity.

sniffmybreeze

this scratches my frankincense itch...
i might need it

AirBureau

Ooooh Akigalawood ...... Next !

pilotdc

To me it smells very close to Nasomatto's Duro. It's a delicious blend of wood and spices with a dash of sweetness. Good projection and longevity. I'd say it's worth the price cuz you don't need to spray a lot with this one to smell great. 2-3 spritzes maximum and it's on you all day.

melihözbayrak

Dolce Gabbana The One for Men ile aynı koku bu daha güzel ben bütün seriyi denedim bunu evde kendim koklamak için sıkıyorum hiç yayılan bir koku değil ama devamlı elim bileğime gidiyor bu kokuyu çok seviyorum.

eaudemale

This is beautiful, Bois Pacifique and Eau d’Ombre Leather are TF best releases in years. The class of the private line with more wearability and great performance at killer prices. I love the Costa Azzura line also, and Beau de Jour is a cult classic. Oud Minerale is a superb grown up marine. You people are sleeping on this line and going for inferior offerings from Parfums? De Marly. Insane.

Besides, these bottles are beautiful. The whole collection side by side looks like it belongs in a dandy closet.

19Mikey67

Ok this is my TF 9 .. all current and boy has he nailed this! Beautiful.. Tom Ford at his best

jacobcruzrine

On first test I over applied and had a pretty bad experience with it. But on second try, and now on my fifth, I have only been applying to my chest. I love wearing this. Something about Tom Ford scents really work on my skin. This one, on me, is soooo resinous and cozy. Like a big hug of frankincense, deep woods, patchouli, and candied ginger - also, I can't shake that there is a really buried *blue* note in here but I can't really tell what. On initial spray I actually find this to be a bit much, but in the dry down and beyond it becomes so so lovely. Projection dies down considerably after a few hours but this continues within arm's reach on me well after the 8 hour mark (all TF frags I've tried behave this way on my skin), and this seems to really shine on colder days, but it also feels really versatile, and could probably be worn year round, save for some really hot days. This is signature worthy if you're the right fit for it.

If you think this doesn’t smell like GPH1 you have a problem.

Blake002

To be honest I have not been a massive Tom ford fan at all I’ve smelled everything and nothing has ever given me that wow factor and I mean nothing from the private blend line to mainstream line . I am a teenager so maybe that’s just my taste but the instant I smelled this I knew I had found my match with the brand of Tom Ford . There is something so special and smooth about the way this hits the senses it’s a truly beautiful scent and to anyone that has written this one off I ask you to give it a wearing . I sprayed it on the sleeve of my hoodie and the smell hasn’t left for over a week. 11/10 .

Leeds9876

Had sample of this and bought immediately. So different to what else in in my collection. Def spring or summer eve. Only issue is the price as per. Really enjoying though in this current weather

Shaunvontaecook

This is PDM Nisean rereleased 9 years later in a Tom Ford packaging

Kirkdonn

It is a very fresh, woody fragrance that seems like an oxymoron but works. I detect pine and something nutty in the opening and the middle, but I could be hallucinating.. (Been known to happen.) The base is pure amber, which I love. Not too long-lasting, but for me, that's okay for an office or studio fragrance, which I consider this to be. Am I crazy, or is the dry down similar to Black Laquer's—but Laquer Light?

Zircon

This is just a mess on my skin. The opening was nice and intriguing with a bit of freshness, and I enjoy the scent of turmeric, but then it all quickly melts into a pungent akigalawood/oud. Akigalawood, to me, smells like actual beef jerky.

If you don't like akigalawood, don't even bother with this. I'm jealous of those who perceive the scent differently, as I would love to have another fresh/woody fragrance in my collection, but this is not it.

feromonica

I am shocked, SHOCKED to see there is no sage in this. It smells like an overload of pure sage tea straight from the bag, with a bundle of sage incense burning in the background, especially sniffed straight from the nozzle. Overwhelming bitter sage through the opening and mid; in the drydown it settles into a more complex, balanced, and far less challenging version of itself but still with a very prominent sage note. A must for sage lovers. For everyone else.... try before you buy. I'm not averse to the scent and could be quite sexy on the right man.

House Adams

It’s nice… Really nice. Woody, slightly resinous scent with some underlying freshness.

For the price… I just have a hard time telling you not to checkout something Lalique Pour Homme Equus… Which Is ~ $35.

It might not be quite as resinous… But I honestly think it performs better. On my skin at least.

Again, it’s very nice. There might just be some better options out there.

LucaNDX

Lots of aromatic and spicy woods, well blended. Reminds me of Matiere Premiere Boise Bene, but slightly weaker and with more cedar.

Katora#1

Unfortunately, this is too similar to Victresse by Dita von Teese and Weidmanns Heil by Ramstein, both fragrances were composed by Alexandre Illan. There might be differences between Bois Pacifique and the other two, but without a side by side comparison it's not that easy to tell them apart.

DarthFragrance

I just snagged a 50mL after testing this many times. I like how there's a big price difference between the 50mL and 100mL bottle, $160 vs $240. Usually designers set like a $20 difference between a 50mL and 100mL. Anyways, Bois Pacifique is a woody, resinous, spicy fragrance. A very dense scent profile. It's like a fresher, warmer weather version of Ébène Fumé which is great for me because I love Ébène Fumé. I'm trying to figure out where the freshness is coming from, and what exactly makes this fresher than Ébène Fumé. I'm not exactly sure, but I love it. Oak is one of my favorite woody notes, it smells incredible and has a unique, dry, earthy type of smell to it. It doesn't seem to be used often in other fragrances compared to other woods. I have been really into fresh fragrances with no citrus notes lately, and this is totally right up my alley. This is an excellent fresh fragrance with no citrus notes. But, this isn't like a fresh fresh fragrance for summer, it's more of a transitional season fresh fragrance for spring and fall. I'd say it's also better for evenings than daytime.

I was skeptical about performance because almost everyone is saying it lacks in that department. I tested it like 10 times before I bought it, sometimes testing other things at the same time. Bois Pacifique performs so well on my skin, giving me 12+ hours with a strong projection every time. On the days I tested other stuff simultaneously, Bois Pacifique always overpowered the other fragrances. When the projection dies off after a few hours, the skin scent remains so strong, unusually strong.

I wanted to clarify one thing. It's not close enough to Ébène Fumé for it to be redundant to own both. They just have a familiar scent profile but they smell different. Bois Pacifique actually smells closer to Black Lacquer than Ébène Fumé, but still not close enough to make owning both redundant. Bois Pacifique is actually a pretty unique smelling fragrance that doesn't smell quite like anything else but draws inspiration from some amazing fragrances.

GandalfGangsta

It reminds me of the smell incense in a new mexico pueblo, a magical sent that brings back memories from my childhood. Very dry but with a pleseant hint of vanilla in the drydown. It smells rich, storried, and very naturall, not at all "perfumey"/ department store like. I get kind of poor projection and just decent longevity, but while it lasts its wonderfull.

Marssade

Oh jesous did i done this wrong? Its f GORGEOUS like the summer edition of encre noire a l extreme..

ScentOfJava

Deep, warm, mature. Immediately the sandalwood, cedar and amber are very prominent. There's a roundness to the formula that makes it very pleasant to get whiffs of. I wasn't expecting to be impressed with a new TF offering but this is nice. This is for men 30 and older, or perhaps a bit younger in a professional setting. This will absolutely fly for an evening occasion or a date. If you're scared when I say it's mature and meant for older men, don't think it's some old-school barbershop fougère or anything. It's very, very different from a "Beau de Jour" type of scent, to give another TF example of a fragrance meant for a mature audience. A younger man dressed nicely could certainly pull this off. What I mean to say is that this is deep, resinous, warm and inviting in a way that your typical loud, screechy, attention-seeking designer fragrance isn't.

Who: Men 30+ or a younger man dressed up.
Where: Casual, formal, date, office are all applicable.
When: Almost all seasons, but maybe not a hot summer day.

Slowpainhauer

Gorgeous cardamom and a hint of turmeric with dry, metallic akigalawood, which develops into dense frankincense and just a tinge of iris.

As an Indian and an expert on tea and spices, this is like sipping masala tea on a rainy day. For me, despite the familiarity, this is magic in a bottle.

provideforme

Smells like Ramune. I can't explain it. But I love it. Feels very summery to me.

ThatGothBBW

This is rather boring. It's mostly a cedarwood/dry woods - forward fragrance. I don't get much of the other notes besides some Iris, but the Iris is pretty minimal. Even though it's not listed, I get a suede vibe from this.

This is NOT a big projector but it DOES last well on clothing. Nothing about this fragrance is challenging. This would work for any season honestly.

Save your coin. This is not worth the hefty price tag. This is nothing that hasn't been done already.

xfactordc3116

Not my thing. Smells like spruce mixed with Perceval.

MARWAN ALMOQBEL

I swear to god this smells like tea and i love it , not for me however

sebseb

Smells like a better in any shape and form Bentley For Men Absolute, better everything, but more or less the same idea. I think it's because of the strong frankincense and woody backbone.

BFazer

A weaker and shorter lasting Montale Oud Dream. They smell identical to my nose from the opening to dry down.
6.9/10

monsieur.moustache

Possibly the best woody fragrance I've come across. Extremely well-blended. Safe for the office. Does remind me a bit of Ebene Fume, but not as loud. Would recommend to those looking for a masculine, woody frag that's not overbearing.

Worlingham

A dry slightly sweet vertofix / cedramber / Norlimbanol like cedar dry down scent which doesn't project much, but does have a nice smell to it and lasts well. Reminiscent of the dry, slightly powdery cedar and sandalwood drydown of Myrrhe Mystere without the frankincense sparkles,

FreshLiving

Smelled it yesterday.

It smells like Ebene Fume Lite.

Would get it for spring and summer wearing when you still want the woody vibe.

I live on the pacific coast and this doesn’t smell like the pacific coast. I kind of wish it had a bit more green and a salty essence to bring to life the oceanic woods smell.

But in the end, it’s is indeed just ebene fume toned down. The longevity and village was above average.

tcd54

Very similar DNA to Halfeti imo. Was a bit sceptical of the turmeric note when I saw it in the breakdown, but it works really well and I enjoy it a lot. Brilliant release by TF.

PepeLePew22

I don’t count myself as a reviewer, just an appreciator. This is good but reminds me of a less punchy version of MAB Ganymede, which I already own. The closeness for me is in the minerality. For this reason alone I would find it redundant to add to my collection, otherwise a decent fragrance.

YourFragranceFriend

A nondescript woody ambery fragrance. I'm a woman and mistakenly assumed this was another unisex targeted fragrance from Tom Ford. I didn't notice it was for men until i nearly finished my sample and saw the video ad campaign! It has a softer, less strong and punchy feeling that a lot of Tom Ford's fragrances. I had my husband try it as well and it feels 100% unisex. I don't get a lot of the notes called out. It feels like hazy sunlit wood with an amber accord and maybe additional spice.

Looking at this page, I can see the comparisons to Ebene Fume. I did enjoy Ebene Fume, but I found it too strong for me to enjoy wearing on myself. Bois Pacifique takes that woods and warmth and dials it down for everyday wear. Unfortunately, what makes this scent great for daily wear also makes it a bit... boring? I could see it not being special enough at Tom Ford prices to warrant a purchase.

moor1209

I think this perfume is really nice for daily wear and right down the middle unisex, but as an owner of other Tom fords I don’t really consider it neccessary or different in my rotation. I consider it the winter variant of Costa Azura edt and the bottle design and notes would indicate this as well. It opens with a light spritz of cardamom and sandalwood and dies down rather quickly to an amber base, but the amber and vanilla are fleeting so the whole thing, while nice, feels too quick. Against the backdrop of other Tom Ford fragrances, this one seems kind of useless and unfortunately, I think it will be quickly discontinued. It seems like the kind of thing I would like on another person, it’s just missing a special quality that would guarantee its longevity in the market.

rowyk

it doesnt smell so different but its actually so well blended resinious woody fragrance imo. so wearable and mass appealing for colder to maybe a bit warmer months. i couldnt have change to test longevity but projection is ok

zenhor

On my skin, this thing lasts and projects like crazy.
My favourite scent was Gucci pour Homme 2003, neither Bentley for men absolute(weak and bitter) nor Papyrus Oud(modern, slightly synthetic and too sweet) don't come close to the original.
I feel this one gets closer than the other two in term of spiciness but it lacks the darkness. Bois pacifique is a little salty and the amber is also quite present. I think it sits between: GPH 2003, Costa Azzura and Myrrhe Mystere.
I think it's great value but not that easy to wear. I can see it worn on a summer evening but also on a cold day.
What I like the least is the turmeric notes. I would have replaced that with something darker and it would have been a gem.
Still liking it and it's worth buying but 50 ml will be enough in my opinion.

Easy 8/10 fragrance.

BlackRose47

Holy molly.. this is very different.. at first I get something like wax in a church kind of smell.. which is not bad,at least imo.. afterwards it gets a smooth sweetness which some find offensive and some not..can't explain it that good :) it seems like a more mature-man perfume but it is very elegant, harmonious and unique.. really love it. Not for a blind buy tho

Miwawa

I'm surprised this is marketed towards men, as a woman, I absolutely adore this scent! 100% unisex. It's slightly sweet, woody, and spicy, without being heavy at all. The dry down has a slightly aromatic touch, that for some reason reminds me of dish washing soap, but in the best possible way. I can't wait to get a full bottle of this one! Wish I had saved my money on Santal Blush and bought this instead.

djigoio

First felt like Verscace Oud Noir. Then is creamy, woody, the right touch of sweetness. A girl wearing this would make me fall in love.

It does smell like turmeric, but, have you ever had a Golden Milk (Milk, turmeric, vanilla, touch of cinnamon and black pepper)? Well, just like that.

cyberdyne

- Initially sweet, woody, spicy scents.
- Later it settles into a refined aroma reminiscent of soft, smooth, unlacquered wooden furniture from the '60s or '70s.
- Like an orange-colored wooden furniture piece holding vinyl records, with a picture above it showing a mustached man wearing bell-bottom trousers and a blonde woman with a polka-dotted headscarf, illuminated by late afternoon sunlight filling the room.
- Remains sweet throughout but never becomes cloying or overwhelming.
- A high-quality sweet-woody perfume.

10/8

RØD

In a nutshell this is a tamed Ébène Fumé, less dense and heavy, there is nothing fresh in this fragrance don’t let the Pacific mislead you. Still beautiful and sophisticated perfume that can be worn by man and woman. I applied it lightly and at distance from skin and it had stayed on me for about 6-7hrs. Easy grab for woodsy fragrance enthusiasts.

User123

Quite nice, smells high quality, reminiscent of Costa Azzura, but just like that one kind of weak performance.

truthfaith

I got a sample of this recently and I’ll be honest it just wasn’t for me. It has some nice woody and warm notes at the base, but I found that the turmeric scent was a little off putting. Very spicy, very woody, and if you know you’ll enjoy that turmeric note, then this will be a great fragrance for you. I have Azzaro Visit in my collection, and I found some big similarities there. The spice profile is very similar, but Visit is on the fresher end.

19Mikey67

I have many many TF frags and love them all but this to my uneducated nose is just a little... Generic os the word that I'll use.
Nothing wrong at all but it probably won't be number 8 in my TF line...

ShadowsofLight

I leave short little notes about all frags I have samples of in a document. For this one I wrote - 'Beautiful neo-resin with soft amber and blonde woods. Familiar and easy.', honestly I could end this review there.

This begins a little richer, with more robust resin (it doesn't smell like actual frankincense) and deeper woods along with the spice. I really don't abide by gender terms, not for any political reason, but because I have always believed perfume never should be pigeonholed. We are though, currently living in very sweet times. "Men's" stuff is often quite vanillic and sweet, and "women's" stuff is even moreso. This is in agreement with modern trends, and is a sweet, ambery, pillowy affair as it dries. It's not boundary-pushing, but I appreciate how likable it is. There's a place for likable things.

I live in the woods, near the beach. I'm deeply familiar with "Pacific woods" (or whatever this roughly translates to). This doesn't smell like that concept though, but it is something warming to wear *while* walking the beach, or woods adjacent to it, in the cold air. So, yes, "Bois Pacifique", but not with the same objective as intended.

I was sent a free sample, which is telling. It's as if TF knows this is mass-appeasing and expects to get plenty of bites from dropping a lure like this. Were it a more unique composition, they wouldn't risk wasting the juice on promotionals...brands are stingy these days afterall.

So for me, I like it a lot, but I don't love it. I appreciate it, but it doesn't *move* me. It's a conventional beauty of the 2020s.

zensouth

On the strip, it’s wonderful. I love the turmeric and cedar combo that leaps off the sample strip. Lasts for a few hours before drying down to the base. However, I tested on my skin and the opening just didn’t last :(

How is the dry down then? It’s exactly Givenchy Grntlemen EDP Boisee, or similar to Explorer Platinum, which I don’t much care for anymore. I am EXHAUSTED on that type of slightly vanillic sandalwood dry down. It’s everywhere, in expensive fragrances like this all the way down to drug store Cremo shave creams. Impressive perfumery that the mid/dry down can encompass another fragrance almost entirely, but again, I don’t need it and no longer want it.

EDIT: okay, it’s end of day, and upon directly comparing it to Givenchy I can say it is different. It retains a dry spicy/herbal character more similar to Beau De Jour, and the vanillic-sandalwood does eventually take a back seat to the spiciness. But I could do without those strong middle note sandalwood vibes.

Oss

Ambery dry sexy sawdust.

penemex

I tested it today. At first, it's a pleasant and stylish scent. The more it dries down, the more resin with something like incense come out.
This harsh combination of dry resin with incense lasts on the skin for a very long time - until the next day. I don't like the drydown.
The drydown reminds me a bit of the resin combination in Boss Bottled Elixir.

My husband is not a scent wearer, in spite of my repeated efforts. I have purchased several bottles over the years for him, things that ostensibly he liked enough to tell me that they smell good, but wearing them on a regular basis hasn't been something he was into. Over the recent winter holidays, we went to Nordstrom, and we smelled this. He really enjoyed it and kept smelling the tester paper. He never does that; outside of candles for the home, scent isn't something he thinks about one way or the other. I think this fragrance hits a sweet spot where it is interesting, performs well, but isn't super challenging. It just smells like a high quality, alluring fragrance. I was wary of the akigalawood myself when I first saw the notes, but it doesn't overwhelm. If you want the scent of being deep in the redwoods on a golden autumn day without a lot of extra fuss or weirdness, this is it. The bottle/juice and the adverts give a good indication of what you are getting. Warm, rich, golden, slightly sweet, woody, with a touch of incense and spice to keep it from smelling too much like a candle. I bought him a bottle for Valentine's Day this year, and I think he will keep it for years to come as he is also a light sprayer. That said, you could easily overdo this and suffocate a room, but applied with a cautious hand, it is still lovely and long-lasting with a decent scent cloud. I don't own any TF myself and most don't appeal to me, but if my husband is only gonna have one bottle, at least it has some quality to it. Haters expect something weird and unapproachable like many other TF scents, but this is a TF for normal folks. We are both happy with the purchase for sure!

Msc1977

If it had more of "pacifique" I would like this better. Oud minerale touch of aquatic/mineral notes would have been lovely. This seems boring, standard wood scent.
Wood, spice, amber, to me there's too much vanilla in the dry down.
I didn't smell tumeric at all.

ASM1

I'm convinced that most of these reviewers haven't even smelt BP. If they have, it was on a tester card. BP is a good fragrance, it is structured in an easy-going and welcoming way. The turmeric poses a slight challenge in the first 30 minutes, but after that it is pleasant enough.

As someone else said, there is plenty of bois, but not enough pacifique. From the name, I was expecting a sun-soaked marine/coastal note to compliment the woods. However, there is a saltiness to this fragrance which, with some creative license, can be interpreted as a coastal accord. The ingredients used are high quality, and the blend is enjoyable meaning that the accords are realistic and believable. Most importantly, BP does not smell synthetic, and for me that is a huge win. Contrary to what others are saying, I think that the £108 for 50ml or £152 for 100ml offers good value for this level of perfumery.

For the people saying that the longevity is poor: some people don't want to smell like the overpowered oud/sweet mess that is currently plaguing the industry. Regardless, after spraying three times, I can detect BP after 6 hours. It is pleasant and provides a comforting and reassuring smell. Can I smell it over the guy in the bar wearing the latest synthetic mess from the high street or arabic clone house? No. And good luck finding a suitably interesting and high quality fragrance that will.

An interesting release. A very likeable and wearable fragrance. 8/10.

RarestCandy

I swear this smells like ginger beer. It’s quite fresh, and very light but seems to fade pretty quickly. I have a feeling on the right skin chemistry this would KILL (in a good way) But sadly, not for me. It smells like a much lighter and weaker version of Myrrhe Mystere, which to me is more interesting anyways. Try both of them if you’re interested in an ambery frankincense scent.

beavisbonce

Tired of these 2 hour wonders. Even more tired of the price. If you want a frankincense amber then there are much better options. No it isn’t montale and certainly not a GPH1 dupe

perfume_has_to_smell_sexy

@romanpyroman haha no

AntonisCy

Tried it today. Smells like a lighter and sweeter version of Ebene Fume. Not bad.

Chbreet

Sure no connection between montale full incense and this , and even 65% close to gph1 and 70% to bentley absolute , 70% to cdg 2man , ratings sometimes got chaos

alanwake

Initially, I felt enthusiastic about this fragrance upon reviewing its notes. And it actually starts off with great potential but ultimately falters due to the generic akigalawood base and noticeably cheapened ingredients. Its not listed, but ginger is prominent and straightforward. Surprisingly, the opening shares a slight resemblance to Tom Ford's for Men, along with a delightful blend of incense and pencil shavings that I really enjoyed, but it quickly transitions to a scent similar to Malle's Uncut Gem, as noted by others. While it is not entirely terrible, the dry down focuses excessively on akigalawood, ginger, cardamom, and turmeric, which become an overwhelming combination of powdery spices for my taste.

SSBurn

It’s warm and slightly woody. I wouldn’t say this is a woody bomb! It’s very subtle in my opinion I’m not seeing the comparison to Ebene Fume. Which for one projects much more than this and is A LOT denser of a fragrance. This is def a dry oak and iris scent for hot weather. It’s not overpowering just something nice to put on and maybe layer with an aquatic scent. Bottle design and juice colour are top tier!

Diabolus

Warm woody and cozy scent with a bit of spice. I tried it from a sample twice on my skin and I have to say it's nothing special. It lasts barely two hours and the projection is not particularly good. Overall 4/10.

D.VAR

A woody and natural fragrance. Spicy from the cardamom and turmeric, a bit powdery from the iris, and a prominent note frankincense as it progresses. Even after it’s had time to mature on my skin, the fragrance almost stings my nose as though I took a whiff of fresh ginger. Natural and spicy, but a bit soft as well

128

Smells nice, not very unique. Powdery, woodsy, aromatic. Doesn’t move me I wouldn’t buy a full bottle. This would best suit someone 25-30+ in my opinion.

Dtbennett

Smells sexy and spicy. Sits pretty close to the skin. Definitely get a woody smell. This is actually the first tom ford I've ever liked

UGAMark

I sprayed Bois Pacifique on me at the mall today. Unfortunately, while it smells good, the scent profile of its opening and mid already exists. I hate to say it, but it smells almost exactly like Black Shine, the Dua dupe of TF Black Lacquer, which is to say Black Lacquer without the vinyl note. I would normally never dare say that an original smells like a dupe, but in this case, Black Shine came long before Bois Pacifique. Without the vinyl, the scent profile of Black Lacquer is a cinnamony-type amber. That is precisely what I smell with Bois Pacifique. In the drydown, the oud (akigalawood) accord does come out much more, but it still smells more like a secondary note. If Tom Ford / Estee Lauder knew that a dupe of one of their own fragrances already has this scent profile, I wonder if they would have thought twice about developing Bois Pacifique.

FMilan

Both thumbs up!
Woody woodsy woods, trimmed to fit modern tastes, but we know that it's evoking GPHI for us.
Tom Ford should keep it on this track.

For the record: we should be thankfull for this one.

Edit: it's not a monster in the "performance" instance, but having GPHI in mind, it wasn't either. So, it seems coherent.

Raul Claudiu

A lot of “bois”, very little “pacifique”.

fuggerone

Bois Pacifique revives the spirit of Gucci Pour Homme I, delivering a rich, smoky blend of cedarwood, incense, and warm spices. It retains the refined, mysterious aura of the original, with a modern twist. Deep, woody, and slightly sweet, it’s a must-try for fans of classic, masculine elegance.

Bingo30

I also get Gucci Pour Homme similarities. Whoa. Back from the dead? Reincarnated into a sweeter, more ambery body perhaps. Between this and the more austere Papyrus Oud, fans of GpH are absolutely covered in 2025.

I think this is gorgeous. This is just the genre I go crazy for. A nice ambery incense and wood with an addicting pinch of salt.

A reviewer below compared this to Montale Full Incense — but mentions how this is just a lot better. I agree with this comparison. The Montale seems like a rough prototype of Bois Pacifique.

8.8/10

romanpyroman

I swear it smells like inexcusable evil by toskovat. Just rotting meat. It’s disgusting

louie.J

I love it, a bit feminine to my nose but still wearable for a man it's versatile too, the only thing I'm not too happy about is the longevity.

grndlf

Watered down Ebene Fume/Tobacco Oud. Similar to Bentley For Men Absolute. I like it

Love's Secret Domain

Recently tried this at a Nordstrom, alongside Ebene Fume and a few others:
In my opinion Ebene Fume and this were very, very different. EF is very heavy, loaded with burning sandalwood and Palo Santo.

This on the other hand was much brighter and very heavy on the frankincense. Unburned frankincense specifically, at least in the beginning, completely dominated. This reminded me more of CdG Avignon or Montale Full Incense, but with more complexity; there were many difficult to discern notes in the background that likely emerge over time.

I liked it very much. I plan to buy a sample but will likely pull the trigger, as I recently gave away Full Incense, my only frankincense-centered fragrance, to a good friend. I like the exalted vibes from wearing olibanum but found Full Incense too monotone. This is more interesting.

I should add that this did not smell, to me, anything like Gucci Pour Homme or Bentley Absolute. I do not understand this comparison, but everyone's senses are unique I guess.

b2o

This fragrance gets better and stronger as it being kept used. In fact, parfums with greater parcentage of natural ingredients do not fully macerate in the production line.

To be honest, as a huge fun of Tom Ford fragrances and I ma always buy them from the Tom Ford Beauty Stores, I cannot find the purpose for which they come out with this parfum. Its more of a counterfeited cheap cologne, failed blend, prematurelly released and above all, no versatility. Should they care for their die hard customers, they would consider to recal back all sold bottles and finish the blend of this parfum.

Otherwise, I do not want to say that Tom Ford is close to nothing and that the time is almost killing them, but at least they becoming ordinary.

Ammar

My opinion ✨️👇 :
Simply , it is a lighter version of (TOM FORD Ébène Fumé) .
I can say it is between (Ébène Fumé) and (Bois Marocain) .
If you have any of them , you do not need this version . Or , if you have (Ébène Fumé) but you need something smoother , this will be a good choice .
Personally , I found it easier to wear than (Ébène Fumé) and more versatile .

It is way far from (Gucci Pour Homme) do not believe the voting here .

Longevity and sillage are not a beast , but very good and acceptable .

512ATX

I’ve had this for about a month and had several wears. It gets better every time. Nice powdery woods. I layer with molecule 01 and it’s perfect. Decent longevity, moderate projection. Safe office fragrance for me. It’s cozy and warm yet fresh.

Ksj_

This is a very strong sandalwood fragrance with touches of spice and amber.

Side note:

This probably would have been a new signature scent for me if it had more of a fresh twist to it. I may try to layer this with something fresher smelling to see how that works...

Which would probably end up smelling like CDG's 2Man

Nane84

Today I tried some TF perfumes, just to remind myself and I came across this one and it impressed me so much that I bought it right away. It is such a pleasant fragrance, powdery, with doses of freshness and doses of warmth. A similar vibe to Armani Code perfume, not in smell, but in the structure of the perfume.

In my opinion, the perfume is very versatile, perhaps its best vibe is spring and autumn. For winter it is not that strong, and for summer it would be a little heavy during the heat, maybe in the evening.

PhantomBelle

Finally we have a great atomizer, sprays really well.

Scent reminds me of a toned-down Costa Azzura edp and Ébène Fumé, a good woody aromatic blend with prominent frankincense. Moderate sillage and wear time, seemingly mass appealing & easy reach scent profile. Price is good for a high-quality blend but it does seem to be redundant for those who have Bois Marocain, Costa Azzura edp and Ébène Fumé. Glad I got the 1.7oz, I need to see if it's a must-have before I get a bigger bottle. 7/10

Okay.
There’s a pattern to Tom Ford’s releases and it was actually quite a positive thing for a while there.
They’d bring something out in the prive line then when it didn’t really do very well because it was quite simply too expensive, they’d knock out a signature line version. Which like I said, was quite a good trend until the prices of everything just went into the silly stratosphere. The more established TF has become as an in demand designer brand, the more they feel they can get away with price wise for their perfumes, which is a shame because despite always being high end they were still somewhat attainable, whereas now they’re not.
Anyway… bois pacifique is a prime example of the rehash of some old ideas, namely the Gucci PH1 spicy, incense/woody accord, with some minor modern, sparkle tweak not dissimilar to Ebene fume which I somewhat enjoyed and is the prive version of this basically but I recall more licorice/myrrh tinge to that..no? (I might be misremembering? Hmm)
Despite many efforts (even by the same perfumer) nothing seems to recapture that rough, spicy magic of PH1 not suggesting that is what this is trying to do. I feel reductive spouting all this wehhrr it smells like this, and we are bored of it weeehhhrrrr! Moany crap because the tiny tweak in perfumery can lead to magic but in this case, coupled with the price it just doesn’t do it for me. Price is such a big determining factor now that I say if this was 40% cheaper it would be a solid release and a decent modern example of the genre.
It’s alright I guess, I don’t hate it.

Justvic

Very rich deep woody fragrance. Smell like costa azzura edp but less marine. Also last longer.

bil00l

Great woody perfume. It has ok longevity but it should be better considering the price. I don't know why people voted this as a winter fragrance, I think its very versatile, it has an almost marine quality to my nose.

CardboardB0xx

The turmeric comes out off as this pickled ginger type smell, but in a good way. The Drydown has this aquatic woodyness to it, like a ship at sea type of thing. I don’t understand people saying this is a winter frag, I’d say more spring time. Overall really nice 8/10

dParis

Tom Ford fumbled the ball a bit here. I had high hopes for this fragrance, thinking it would capture the essence of the Pacific Coast. It falls short and I would suggest that the name, Bois Pacifique, is a misnomer.

This isn’t a terrible scent. The opening is nice and it retains some of that TF ‘special sauce’ which gives an appeal to most of their fragrances, but the frankincense is dialed up WAY too much here. It all but smothers a pleasant citrus hiding in the background and develops as a dominant, and somewhat fatiguing, note through the dry down.

Less frankincense and more salty, oceanic accord with pine needle introduced would have made this a much better fragrance, imo.

TMJG

Once again the team at Tom Ford set their (Tom Ford) bespectacled eyes firmly toward the past and stare directly at the long lost Gucci Pour Homme and decide to dredge it up amongst the myriad of unnecessary parfum versions of already existing fragrances and retired private blends - repackaged into the signature collection. I do wonder, could a brand I once lived and breathed and had an unhealthy obsession with produce something that doesn’t induce an eye roll or worth a damn? Time will tell.

Batu.1631

Definetly parfume of winter. warm woody fresh opening and soft middle notes. strong but not molesting parfume.

boringangel

Seattle Nordstrom perfume employee told us that this is inspired by the Pacific Northwest, which I cannot confirm online. Likely a fiction crafted to appeal to my boyfriend, who looks very quintessentially PNW. But the employee’s ploy worked, and this smells divine on aforementioned bf :)

Realest Rater 47

this is tom ford putting ebene fume / mystery myrrh into the signature collection but slightly more wearable than both of those

i do like it i think its a great resinous woody frargance

performance is great

ds23pallas

The opening is very spicy, sort of reminds me of a cinnamon room scent I had. 20 minutes later the dry down does go in the direction of Duro, but Bois Pacifique lacks the depth, character and performance of Duro, so I would definitely go for the Nasomatto instead.

Ultimately a pleasant but quite boring release from Tom Ford, sadly.

svyatun

At the first impression, Gucci Pour Homme- we met again!
Comme des Garcons 2 Man is waving from afar too.
Favorite pencil shavings combo: cedar, labdanum, incense.
Lovely memories!

Alohakamaaina

Well..I'm a Tom Ford fragrance lover and have most. I was really looking forward to this one. I got it in December and have worn it a few times. For me this seems like one that they just put out to fix it and make it great in about 6 months by releasing a Parfum version..you put this out then fix it..dam..we expect better..do it right first!
Ok..I'm done complaining..lol it's a great fragrance creamy nice Frankincense and sandlewood with a nice cardamom. It's very safe and easy. I found in my wears i got no complaints. One person asked..did you forget to put a fragrance on..I'm glad I got the 50ml. I think when they redo it it will be a great fragrance.

Oss

Owned many from the signature line and thought it only natural to get on the waiting list for this release.

Right off the rip there is a brightness comes across as a citric note that pops with the opening spices. This doesn’t last long and soon that cascade of woods take over.

The main star here is the drydown. It settles into a really clean amber and lively woody musk. The sandalwood and cedar are done to a really top tier standard here but the performance is essentially the same as Costa Azzurra EDP, and for me that’s not worth a full purchase. Given the performance I don’t think I’d have a problem wearing this in high heat. Year round scent for me.

If there’s vanilla in this I am certainly not getting it. Perhaps it’s blending too well with the sandalwood but vanilla doesn’t jump at me at all with Bois Pacifique. A shame as it’s a really nice scent too, albeit nothing groundbreaking.

I genuinely think it’s great but will be holding out for a Parfum version.

Max Tatum

Drydown is 95% Penhaligon Halfeti.

Medusa82

Wow love this! Reminds me of Gucci Pour Homme from 2003 - church Insense for 2025

aspirina

Very soapy and woody incense fragrance. Not very original I have smelled several things like this before. I don't think that it's a bad fragrance, just the same synthetic incense woody thing once and again. So boring! no creativity!

TMJG

This just arrived in store today. I’m getting Gucci PH1 but not as good. Nice try though!

ScentologisTTT

Carbon copy 1:1 of Bentley absolute aka Gucci PH 1 .

easterncrescent

This is actually really nice and as a fan of Oriental fragrances I really love this frankincense heavy fragrance but where other frankincense fragrances are perfectly unisex this is more masculine and also toned down enough and polished enough to be usable in everyday life without garnering strange looks. An approximation of this could probably be achieved by layering Bentley for Men absolu (cedar heavy) with Montal full incense (frankincense heavy) but the result would be far less refined but eminently more powerful. All in all if you like these types of fragrances this is a great every day more polished and refined option which is not overbearing but somewhat subtle and therefore less offensive potentially to the average nose.

BGBG

Lalique Ombre Noire comes to my mind first.
But all the recent woody scents from TF have a lot in common: this one, Bois Marocain, Ebene Fumé...
After a full wear, I can tell that this one is strong on sandalwood. All in all it is a very nice scent.

maasikasmia

Very incense, spicy, woody, pepper. I can't smell anything else except of the church here. Sadly, not for me.

Violet28

It's a nice fragrance that I was able to receive from Influenster. With a masculine, woodsy opening and
creamy sandalwood dry down, it's smooth. It lasts 5 to 7 hours on skin, lingering longer since I'm not stingy with spraying lol. I love how it smells on my fiancé, but I also enjoy wearing it myself, especially when layered with sweeter vanilla fragrances like Vanilla Romance, Bianco Latte, or Kayali VCRS. What can I say... I am a gourmand girly 🤭. On it's own, it creates the perfect balance of depth and spice and not too overpowering, but certainly memorable. It has impressive sillage - you won't be leaving a cloud behind, but people will definitely take notice as you pass by. This is more of a fall & winter fragrance and would definitely be too strong for summer.

Dylanduke

First sniff, it reminds me of Maison Margiela Under the Stars and Chopard Cedar Malaki - but sweeter and not as polarising I’d say (some will like it a lot more, some will like it a lot less but neither will have as strong an opinion as with the other two).
I’m getting a strong Verbena and Cola vibe (like strong cola cubes or medicinal cola flavours).
It reminds me a bit of loccitaine hand soap.
It’s a bit salty Marine smelling.
A bit Christmassy with a clove touch.
Can smell the turmeric and saffron and cardamom after reading the notes and I think I can smell iris - potentially the sweetness.

Reminds me a lot of kerosenes r’oud elements, very nice

paulzork

Bois Pacifique smells almost exactly like freshly sprayed Wonderwood by Comme des Garcons, only a bit sweeter.

And just like Wonderwood, which smells great btw, it doesn't have great projection or longevity - especially given the price tag.

[email protected]

Warm Cedarwood, smoke, and Spice. Not as dark as I anticipated and probably fresher than reviews here would say. It is by no means fresh in the traditional sense. But I don't get a churchy vibe at all. I get cedarwood, and a very realistic cedar note at that. Overall a good release. Not remarkable but certainly higher end than a run of the mill designer release.

Seuni

Aw man, please, Tom, buy the brand back.

I forgot how it smells before I reached home. Another akigalawood bomb, this time in an oceanic (not marine/aquatic, there’s a significant difference) touches. Mid lasting, close to skin moderate projection. I can already smell in this formula that the parfum is ready and waiting to be released in a year or two.

Pi1980

C’est tout simplement une réplique du parfum bang bang la bouteille bleu de marc Jacob qui discontinuer depuis plusieurs années et je trouve que c’est un petit peu plus exotique bon parfum j’aime bien 8/10

CChanel

boring and weak cedar wood

Marssade

Lalique encre noir a l extreme 25 bucks and you get the job done ...And its better.

Fragrance_Viper

Pretty boring pointless release in my opinion, quite a mature scent this one, warm woody and slight vintage smell to it, I don't think this will sell well, same with rose exposed it's horrendous

Tigerboy

Just bought a bottle after first sniff. Reminds me of a lot of stuff I love - a bit cedar-y, incense-y, church-y - but with a really nice light tang. Is it the turmeric? Keeps making me think of kaffir lime. I also get a lot of the iris on my skin which is an unexpected twist.

solobinoy2k

Meh

sorvaahr

I just tested it at the store, left it on my skin for about 2 hours while I did my errands, my SO commented how I smelled "so much like me" which while some may think it's a dig, it's very much a tongue-in-cheek compliment. He kept wanting to sniff me and I was getting wafts of it and I loved it. That's good enough for me. I went back and got a bottle. Simple as that. If you want more details, read on.

To be more technical, this is basically Bois Marocain with the smoky edge of Ebène, both which I love. This one however is much more frankincense forward, hence why some might find it too "churchy". It's also quite powdery thanks to the sandalwood/iris combo so those who dislike powdery woods may be challenged. For me, this is complete love as it's just my type of scent. This is the Tom Ford I love, singular and out of the typical designer frags (Black Lacquer was very much in that vein too). After a few boring/so-so releases, TF seems back on track, even though this couldn't exactly be said to be "new". The performance isn't beastly but the DNA of this tends to sit closer to skin, IMHO a churchy frankincense bomb that projects like a beast would be overwhelming and that's no fun for anyone. Definitely suited for colder weather. It's warm, cozy and makes me want to cuddle up in front of the fireplace with a good book. A very nice surprise. Eclipsing the whole "oh no Lauder is killing TF" rhetoric that has everyone up in arms, this a very decent release.

Edit: I almost forgot longevity: 4 hours later it's still noticeable when I move, so it's decent, not amazing but this kind of DNA tends to sit closer to skin as I mentioned, so don't expect a projection beast out of this.

Edit 2: it's been 8 hours and it's close to skin but I can still smell it quite clearly if I move my hand close to my nose (not stick it up to my nose but if I wave it around I can smell it). By now it's a more vanillic ambery/balsamic wood. So yeah, it does last but it doesn't project that much. Still a fantastic scent though.

FranLuigi97

The Incense makes it too churchy for me.

JmThms

A fairly unique and fairly nice Woody Aromatic. The spices are the unique part, and go well with the akigalawood. Especially with the turmeric. Although I've test worn Positano by Contes de Parfums, which has a turmeric note, I don't have any fragrance in my 300+ bottle collection with a turmeric note, and only a few with an akigalawood note. So I go to my spice rack to get a whif of my ground turmeric, and yep, I'm pretty sure I detect it fairly prominently in Bois Pacifique. It combines well with cardamom and akigalawood. But Bois Pacifique is also a fairly poor performing fragrance, at least in projection. I'm working from a decant on this initial test wear, but I sprayed upwards of 12 to 15 times, on skin and clothes. I just get little or no natural wafting to my nose. To smell it I have to stick my nose directly on my wrists. This composition maybe could benefit from the addition of an incense or ozonic note, or maybe even ginger, cypriol, black pepper, and/or red pepper. Something to give it more lift. The Amber accord is a thin one, but since all the other accords listed in the stack at the top of this page are so subdued, its accurately positioned in the stack. Nice scent profile here, but because the likes of my Houbigant Bois Mystique, Creed Royal Oud, and Maison Martin Margiela Soul of the Forest and how they perform and provide natural wafting far into the wear cycle, I prefer them. Its a shame though.

kristoferiscariot

smells like frankincense… that’s about it. but it’s really nice. I wouldn’t pay $310 for it thou. Smells like Boss Bottled Elixir

sgd11

Decent. But nothing new and in the end boring. Severely misnamed as well.

The Wolf

Tried this twice. Unique fragrance, but at the same time it's familiar. Little pieces of GPH1 and maybe Bois Marocain. I tried it blind at first and I thought it contained cloves but I went over the notes with a Tom Ford employee and saw it contains turmeric which instantly clicked. It's also got some captive ingredients and an oak absolute which is interesting. Good fragrances, leaning masculine, but I'm not compelled to get a bottle. Decent release.

There's nothing particularly new about it... very similar to Costa Azura, and Santal Blush, woody and spicy. Tom Ford is starting to get boring.

mse-21

I tried this today both on my skin and on paper. It is a well made woody spicy perfume in the same vein as other Tom Ford products: a bit formal and very stylish. I particularly like the opening, which reminds me of some of the scents I enjoyed in the past.

I see here the comparisons with Gucci Pour Homme (2003). It is somewhat true but only for the first moments of the opening as this dries down to a scent that is different. There was a distinctive pencil sharpening note in the Gucci Pour Homme which is absent here. Moreover, that was a thick but short lived scent, BP is thinner and lasts a few hours though close to skin.

Indeed, Bois Pacifique has more in common (specially in basenotes) with other scents that Tom Ford has been releasing recently. Albeit Bois Pacifique goes to its own woody spicy direction and is a versatile scent, better suited for colder months. Overall, I see this as a solid release and recommend giving it a try. As far as I'm concerned, Beau De Jour EDP remains my personal favorite from this house.

davidzev

@Tlund It could be the frankincense, which usually has citrus-like notes itself.

Tlund

Strange no citrus is listed in the notes. I got a big dose of lemon or possibly bergamot in the opening, making it brighter and fresher than the other fragrances it’s been compared to.

NeroliCannoli

A beautiful lightly sweetened woods, with frankincense making a big appearance and creating an ambery incense. Such a good release from Tom Ford!! 🙏🏽

leatherorrisviolet

Tried this at Nordstrom today. First thing I will say is this: Tom Ford finally fixed the sprayer! This is a Dior style sprayer on this thing. Finally! As for the smell, think Ebene Fume or Bois Marocain but a more vibrant, projecting version of those with an incense/lemon/carbonated thing going on not too dissimilar from something Commes Des Garçons would put out. This is really a great fragrance and continues the streak TF has been on making great perfumes suitable for men. For many years it seemed like they were discontinuing all their men’s fragrances and only putting our stuff for women. Well, that trend has been fading into the past recently! Pick this one up

Angelus Libri

I get a strong carbonated drink fizzyness from this. Somehow the tumeric and frankincense combines to smell like a soda fountain that's on its last few mls of syrup, pushing out soda water with a splash of Dr Pepper in it. The woods are there but smell more like a stick of deodorant, specifically all of the brand Every Man Jack's combined.

neonaya

Modern perfume mixed with akigalawood, non-sweet tobacco, apathy and desperation. I absolutely loved natural oak notes that were used in perfumes before IFRA forbid them. Now oaks in perfumery only put me depression. Seems like one puts tons of this component into the composition. Definitely pass.

stephenmpx

This is what Ebene Fume should have been. Much smoother, heavy on the incense, tempered by the iris. It is the most reminiscent of Gucci Pour Homme I out of anything that has launched under the Tom Ford label, all it's really missing is the papyrus.

mlke

After Quentin Bisch has made all these akigalawood perfumes popular the ingredient is becoming a bit predictable, even if I haven't smelled it in isolation. In my experience fragrances that mention it tend to have a spicy, resinous, weightless-woody aroma reminiscent of incense. Here this "note" is strongest in the opening, or perhaps in the air, and it feels like it bolsters the green, woody, electric qualities of the frankincense note perfectly, as it seems to do to an extreme degree in Purpose by Amouage. This high pitched focus feels a like an aura of sparkly perfume particles, reminding me of the translucent sparkly quality of ambroxan, while also having it's ephemeral nature. I really couldn't tell if the sales associate actually sprayed the card for a good while, and it's golden-hued spiciness came in and out of my perception for most of the day.

I see the mentions of Gucci Pour Homme and when I see that I can only make the connection to it's current iteration by the same perfumer- Papyrus Oud 71 by Parle Moi de Parfum. Separated from the sparkly top accord- they share that scratchy, spiced papery texture with a hint of sweet amber. Like a spicy cola. Papyrous Oud feels denser and cozier while this is lighter and balanced more towards resinous, fresh aromas. Like it's more simply constructed and clearer to pin down to something like cardamom. The oak here pairs with a vanillic, almost whisky-like character I enjoy alongside the other dry woods, but I'm not sure it's super noticeable. Like Ebene Fume it's mildly sweet and comes off ambiguously woody to the point of being somewhat forgettable. Like they've market tested what people like in woody perfumes and distill that information down so that it has something for everyone, but not too much of any one thing to be distinctive enough either. The end result is something that leans into the "ambroxan aura" kind of vibe that's both transparent, somewhat mineralic, and woody, while always having a nice incense element. The drydown reveals a quiet GPH resemblance which I enjoy. I haven't given it a full wear after just stopping into Nordstroms to test it today, but overall I'd say it's good value, and despite my criticisms it's probably enjoyable to wear. A day later what smelled like ambrocenide was all that was left on the strip which points to Mr. Boston's mention of Uncut Gem having a grain of truth, as they sit in the same general category of scents and to me they share a similar kind of "color".

Turmeric is listed as a minor note but i actually get a big dose of it here and i actually like it for that, smells pretty pleasant to me

c0rtland

Could not be more boring.

eaudemale

Very nice inspired by GPH 1, modernized with good performance and way way better smelling. It’s not as wood chips as GPH because that accord is toned down by the iris which is a good thing for me. If you like woody understated classy fragrances for everyday office use like Dior Homme original, Bois D’Argent, Orage, Vetiver Patchouli, then get this.

Mr. Boston

This fragrance has a hint of Gucci Pour Homme I but wearing them both side by side I would say they are about 80% apart. Bois Pacifique is much lighter and the Mandarin is prominent in the opening. It dries down quickly into a fairly light scent. A touch of Uncut Gem in here as well. If you are looking for the GPH I vibe but do not want to pay the crazy eBay prices you can’t go wrong with Bentley for Men Absolute. This is not great.

apascual

Just tried this one, and unfortunately I dont find it similiar to Gucci PH,maybe same scent profile, but actually very close to a tone down version of Ebene Fume

KJS88

Well @apascual, don’t get your hopes up, this isn’t a sweet perfume. I’m afraid everything you’ve listed is designed with modern materials for modern noses. It’s fine to have a preference, but it’s not fine to make assumptions about other people’s ages because their tastes don’t strictly align with your own. I’m reasonably sure you’ll find this one to be “grampie,” whatever that means. ☺️

apascual

Tom ford has at least 80% of perfumes that have a granpa smell.....grey vetiver (giuu), beau de jour (super giuu), tobacco oud, tuscan leather, for men extreme, neroli portofino, costa azzurra (super giuu) just to name a few....
Fortunatly, along came noir extreme edp, noir ext parfum, f fabulous, vanilla sx, vanille fatale, etc. that are sweet enough or a lot, but not necesarly have ambroxan
Keep it sweet and modern TF !!! and dont listen to grampies (and grumpies)....ha

This fragrance is perfect for the holidays and any cold weather. I think it can be unisex in my opinion.
At first it can be a little overwhelming but it definitely dries down to a nice cozy scent that kinda of smells like a pine cone or something similar to that. It’s definitely wearable for any occasion. 9/10 fragrance!

schplint

Soft woods, delicate smoke, spice, and resin. This reminds me quite a bit of Gucci Pour Homme 1.

Pleasing, inoffensive, and to my nose it is very subtle, much like GPH1. Despite the accords suggesting something denser, it has a transparent, second skin-like quality to it. It's the sort of fragrance that doesn't smell like you're wearing a fragrance, but it's just simply "how you smell" - in a good way.

So far I like it.

KJS88

Yes, I have smelled it, and this is my take:

If you're seeing Akigalawood and thinking Bois Imperial or Ganymede or whatever, no, not to my nose. It's a fairly well put-together woody amber, with pepper, patchouli, and spice in the background, and no iris note at all that I can detect. It's neither very innovative nor overly common, but not to my taste. Gave me a slight headache, similarly to the way ambroxan heavy scents give me a headache, only without an overly loud and screechy ambroxan note.

I don't understand comments like "I really like how TF is getting modernized and granpa smells are things of past now." What does TF do that is "granpa"? Is it that they don't normally dump a load of ambroxan and ethyl maltol into things? TF smells very modern to my nose, and I've never not been complemented wearing anything TF.

A burst of fresh spicy cardamom that slowly sinks into a nice woody, resinous base.

Opens up with a bright flash of spicy cardamom, powdery iris, and woody agikalawood. As it dries down the agikalawood leads the way to this really nice woody, cozy oak note while the spicy cardamom leads to an undeniably high-quality balsamic frankincense; cedar, sandalwood, and the remaining iris filling out the edges between the incense and the woods. In the deep dry down the edges of the fragrances smooth over with that classic Tom Ford amber, but it's not overdosed, just used to smooth out the ending.

Was really excited to try this when my agent at my local Nordstrom told me she just got it in stock, and allowed me to come on it and spray it on. Another solid offering by Tom Ford. A nice woody, balsamic, resinous fragrance that while comforting and easy to understand, has a nice amount of freshness and depth that kept pulling me back in for sniff after sniff. While I think the overall profile is a bit more on the mature side, this would be a fantastic office or day-to-day fragrance for anyone 30+. A good middle ground between the more woody dominant offerings from Tom Ford and the more incense-y offerings. Leans masculine, but wear what you want. I will revisit this again in the future. Good for the transitional months.

Very solid performance and projection of 8-10ish hours with solid 4 foot projection for the first 3 or so hours off of 3 sprays.

Rating Pending, tentative 8/10.

Song Vibe - My Best Friend's Girl by The Cars

TLDR - A nice woody, balsamic, fresh spicy, and slightly sweet fragrance from Tom Ford that while leaning a bit mature, would make a great addition to anyone looking for a great woody all-rounder fragrance for the transitional months. A must-try if you love the smell of cardamom.

Side note - There is no relation to Bois Imperial, mfs see agikalawood and their singular neuron think Bois Imperial.

“Fancy a pint?”

“Not tonight, Dave. I’m too busy downvoting the new Tom Ford release.”

“Why?”

“Because I’m a fucking idiot….”

Fragrantica stuff. This was done by Rodrigo Flores Roux, from Givaudan. Not Bisch. Rodrigo posted yesterday a photo with his new creation on his Instagram account! Please, give him the credit he deserves!

Nice job for voter. Already hate and weak.

What a surprise, a brand new release immediately getting down voted on Fragrantica...

laidback4sho

I have one coming from Influenster. Can't wait to review it, as the notes look promising. Stay tuned...

apascual

Cant wait to try this. I crave for woody spicy so this is my most wanted fragance. I really like how TF is getting modernized and granpa smells are things of past now, same goes for Creed. Also theyre releasing every 2 or 3 months and that calms my anxiety caused by brands like Chanel that have new pillars fragances every 87 years.....Keep it up TF!!!!!

Akigalawood = quentin bisch 😆😍👌🏻

Could this be another axed private blend brought back to the signature line? anyone have any guesses?

NevesR

As a fraghead I'm happy to give my money to independent perfumers and some brands that still love perfumery for what it is and price their work accordingly. To greedy money making machines that make uninspired but "modern" (uhhh, modern...) overpriced crap and insult consumers intelligence, I hope they soon be happy with the 1% of millionaires that buy one of these fragrances once a year.

Tshahb

I bet $1000 dollars this is by Bisch.

Update: OK so it's not.
Smells boring as shit though.

Sounds nice!

Bottle design and juice colour are top tier!

xfactordc3116

Not my thing. Smells like spruce mixed with Perceval.

neonaya

Modern perfume mixed with akigalawood, non-sweet tobacco, apathy and desperation. I absolutely loved natural oak notes that were used in perfumes before IFRA forbid them. Now oaks in perfumery only put me depression. Seems like one puts tons of this component into the composition. Definitely pass.

c0rtland

Could not be more boring.
