I just had a taste of this today, honestly i wasn't expecting a peeled generic citrus on my nose, nothing bad but also nothing new, falls in the basic lines.

@redcrabcake: The most prominent note in LV l'Immensite is ginger, not grapefruit. L'Immensite is smooth and more formal (in my opinion), not tart like Perseus, so I don't really consider them similar. Also, $206 is an okay price, but I've seen the 125ml bottle for as low as $160.
Sinan106107/09/25 13:04
I previously commented on its longevity. Today, in 40-degree heat, I wore it with 8-10 sprays, doing it justice. It performed incredibly well. I can still smell it on my neck after about 15 hours. I received a compliment from a friend walking behind me on the street after 4-5 hours.
I own several of the scents mentioned in reviews. I don't think it's similar at all. It's a citrusy summery scent, of course, they belong to the same family, but as this one dries down, the woody and musky notes shine through, and it feels incredibly smooth.
It feels like you're pressing your nose against a wonderful citrus scent on incredibly expensive, lightly fuzzy fabric. Many YouTubers say it's a completely unnecessary scent, and I think it's definitely one of those underrated scents. It's so versatile you can wear it anywhere.
redcrabcake07/06/25 23:57
Tried from official PDM tester. This stuff is absolutely beautiful and performance is actually insane for a freshie. The mouth-watering mix of citruses at the top is sparkling and natural. The vetiver outlines them and as it dries down, you get a warm, clean, musky set of woods. Just wow. This is now my favorite grapefruit freshie (though I haven't smelled L'Immensite). Must buy a full-size bottle.
EDIT: Just got a 125ml bottle from maxaroma for $206usd after 10% off coupon and $15 points credit with free shipping. Now that's an incredible deal.
Deatherage607/02/25 09:42
I've only seen one review on this saying what I'm smelling so I'll add mine, I think the grapefruit accords become so sour on my skin that they almost come off as an off-putting, sweaty B.O. Unfortunately my wife is a big fan of the way it smells on me so I may continue to wear this. Obviously fragrance is subjective but I am not a fan at all of this, Definitely sample this if you can before buying.
Tripokaridos06/24/25 14:16
I dont get why people compare this with givree or Terre edt , i have and i like all of them Perseus is beautiful and honestly its not fair to compare it with Hermes Terre EDT a masterpiece proved in time most perfumes cant compared with the quality of Terre.
Other than that Perseus worth it and in my opinion is more serious than the other PDM freshies like Sedley or Percival .
maitton06/23/25 04:19
Am I confused or did they replicate TDH with a little twist? Smell just like it, adding cashmeran and a bit of mandarin.
nivv06/17/25 08:21
WOW this is just a dupe of TDH Eau Givree thanks PDM for duping a fragrance that totally needed a dupe and making it cost like a PDM
Scent of gentleman06/16/25 19:47
When I first wore it, I was not so impressed. It straight away reminded me of Light Blue Forever I had owned. The grapefruit was too strong for me. After several months left untouched, I give it another try, this morning. It is much more smooth now, while still bright and uplifting. It's the same genre as Bvlgari Tygar and Roja Burlington that i love. Perseus is bolder, but, Tygar and Burlington are more elegant. A strong like, now.

I copped a full bottle of this right before high school graduation, it has a beautiful and almost realistic rindy grapefruit/orange and woody opening that to me is flat out addicting and hard not to like, quite strong too for a citrus fragrance.
Not to mention that there’s an earthy tone in here that makes itself more present in the drydown (could be from the geranium or the vetiver) the cashmere wood is more noticeable during this period as well, I would say 4-5 hours in, and surprisingly the citrus doesn’t go anywhere until it slowly fades out at around 8 hours deep.
I do feel like this fragrance gets unfairly trashed on by some, calling it “moldy fruit” or “a basic freshie” but it’s far from either of those things, it may not be the most unique thing from Parfums de Marly or even in the fragrance market in general but it’s definitely better than most in my opinion, I suggest to save up some money and get any size of this fragrance instead of looking for a clone or interpretation of it because I personally think it’s worth it.
Parfums de Marly Perseus overall score: 8.7/10
pavement2grass06/13/25 13:44
the opening is honestly beautiful, like getting hit with a bitter juicy citrus that you want to eat. its like you can smell the green leaves on the citrus fruit while you're surrounded by tropical trees. its fruity without the fruit, like the skins and leaves of it. i cant really describe the dry down, the closest thing i could liken it to is toilet cleaner sadly. the bitterness over stays its welcome for me and it becomes quite mediocre
gogerix06/12/25 00:16
Bitter grapefruit and citruses in the opening, turning to woody vetiver and sort of a citric, slightly powdery, dry woods smell.
It's a lovely scent, not worth the price.
Suggested retail should be 100€/125 ml.
Trench1419!06/11/25 15:17
I loved layering PDM Perseus and Louis Vuitton Pacific Chill last summer!!! It goes great with Xerjoff Erba Pura too! I love this stuff!!! I've already almost finished my 75 ml bottle that I bought last summer.
Tronvito661106/10/25 20:11
I just layered PDM Perseus with PDM Pegasus .. holy SHT. I just created a Titan. Get it?? But seriously. It’s gorgeous. Try it immediately I mean now don’t just sit there just do it. It’s neat. and they don’t clash.🤣
ashed06/09/25 12:22
This one is just okay for me. I definitely see the overlap with TDH Eau Givree. They share that bitter, zingy grapefruit note, but that's about where the similarities end. I find this both more and less wearable than Givree, because there's some softness in here that makes it less abrasive. The timur in Givree is very screechy for me, and because it's relentless throughout the wear time, I find myself getting irritated with it before long. This doesn't have that problem, but there's an accord here that I just don't care for. It's a kind of skin musk, baby wipe smell, and I'm sure it's just an overlap in notes to literal actual baby wipe fragrance, but the moment my brain detects anything in the realm of baby products, its a hard pass for me. If you don't suffer from such compunctions, this problably won't bother you in that way, and if you like this type of scent, Givree might do as a substitute (especially because it's dirt cheap compared to any PDM), but I'd recommend against blind buying that if you have tried this and like it.
LuxxFragranceEnjoyer06/08/25 13:26
It’s an enjoyable smell with plenty of mass appeal. The mixture of citruses and woods also come across pleasant and non offensive. There is a noticeable effervescence to it that makes this fragrance VERY IRRESISTIBLE. I recommend sampling before buying. This fragrance is smells nothing like terre d'hermes eau givree. Its more refined and well blended plus it doesn't have a bitter lemon smell like terre d'hermes eau givree. Its perfect for the summer!
deniskano06/07/25 10:12
I've bought the whole discovery set and all I got to say is that PDM really love to make their fragrances short-lived with little to no oil content. For comparison - I sprayed Aventus 12 hours ago and can still get whiffs of it now even though I've taken a shower. Meanwhile, when I sprayed the samples of PDM, they lasted like 3 hours and could be easily washed off with soap (not even cheap designers can do that lol). Where does all the hype come from? My guess is genius tiktok marketing...
Cologneinhaler06/06/25 13:54
So this reminds me of TDH givree, but much longer lasting and with a stronger grapefruit. It projects for the first hour or 2 and then tones down into a closer scent bubble that lasts around 5-6 hours before going into a skin scent for the next 3-4 hours. So I get around 9-11 hours total longevity which is pretty decent for a freshie. I also prefer Perseus dry down compared to givree, so this is a nice niche version of that scent profile. Now is it worth 150-200 dollars more? I'm not sure, but this gets a like from me. This is a masculine scent, IMO not unisex. As far as overall, it's solid but I still prefer Sedley and Greenley even though this has the best longevity out of the three.
reiachtov06/04/25 08:39
A much more complex version of Terre d'Hermes Eau Givree - citron burst leads followed by trailing complexity that makes you want to smell it twice.
robertandsheilaburke06/03/25 18:52
Citrus bomb. The vetiver is a nice sub-citrus note. It isn't my favorite PDM, but it is a great one for summer!
Pagie06/02/25 15:11
After everything that was written, I was a little sceptical at first. But now???
Oh my god. This is awesome.
Is it Hermes in a different bottle? No!!!
I can see why some would say so, but they are so wrong, but yet so right.
The difference is in the quality and longevity of the ingredients.
This is a beautiful bitter citrus, rindy fragrance with a creamy undertone that is so addictive, you’re gonna need rehab to get it out of your mind.
As good on clothes as it is on skin. This lasts all day, which is unusual for a “freshie”, but this is no ordinary concoction.
As soon as it hits the skin, it’s a citrus love affair, but not the sweet, sickly kind.
Then as the vetiver starts to creep in, there’s just something that just won’t let you stop smelling it.
This shouldn’t be called, “Perseus”. It should be called, “Winehouse”, because of its addictive qualities.
If you like the smell of summer, then this is it. It’s bottled and it’s quality.
You’re welcome….
philball05/30/25 11:52
This one takes a few tries to appreciate its character. The mistake people can make when testing fragrances is to smell it straight off the skin once it’s been sprayed. This is okay with some scents but many smell their best in the air. Tygar is a great example of this and Perseus is similar (btw, I’m not saying they smell similar, they’re just both much better smelt from the silage). Smelt off the skin, close up, the strong grapefruit can come off as too dense and overpowering but this fragrance comes alive in the air.
I learnt this from my experience with Tygar. I really didn’t like it when I tested it so I gave my 10ml sample to someone else. They wore it one day and I kept getting wafts from the sillage and it smelt incredible. Perseus is similar in this regard and I find it quite addictive. I love grapefruit anyway but the way it’s blended with the vetiver and woods gives this a wonderful combination of bright and dry, with subtle creamy highlights. It’s fresh in a unique way. I’ve dismissed PdM in the past for being a bit pedestrian but I’m really quite taken by it.
Performance is great too, lasting all day with noticeable projection. I felt quite indifferent about this fragrance initially but now it’s one of my favourite PdM’s, along with Castley.
I dismissed this fragrance on my first try for not being interesting enough but I was wrong. Definitely worth a revisit if you felt the same.
seyf0605/28/25 12:39
FurkanAkgul05/15/25 11:40
Büyük hayal kırıklığı sıradan bir desinger marka aynı parfümü 10 dolara satsa kimse yüzüne bakmazdı.
Pdm'nin özelliği bazı özgün kokularının yanında bazı desinger kokuların DNA'sını daha kaliteli hale getirip şişeleyip satmak. Ama burda ekstra bir durum göremedim. Kremsi hissiyatı rahatsız etti beni.
cypriant05/15/25 01:40
How should I put this...
The smell is great. I would definitely want it in a scented candle. BUT on my skin I feel like Jonny Bravo dressed as the clown. Imho it's by far NOT a masculine fragrance, but if worn by a man it would require a very funky outfit and scene. The grapefruit is just too much, and it stays for long.
masonhalavi05/10/25 15:12
basic dna, im not a grapefruit fan but this is alright.

I absolutely love perseus. Being on the beach and real hot outside. It ain't all about citrus either. Drydown has some woods in it. Love it. Perseus stands alone nothing smells like it
Trench1419!05/10/25 08:03
I just got into fragrances a little over a year ago, and it's become my main hobby. Perseus is one of my favorite warm weather fragrances so far. I just made this little review video yesterday about my fragrance journey, specifically regarding Parfums de Marly.
I love the bright, uplifting grapefruit top scent notes and the ambergris dry down just makes me smile when I smell it throughout the day.
I would appreciate if anyone watches my video. I've made a few other fragrance related videos, and taken vacations to try fragrances, and made videos about them too.

PandaStan05/02/25 12:32
This one is quite nice in the opening. Comes off as a sophisticated citrus and woody scent, but once it dries down and if I get a strong enough whiff I get something similar to latex gloves. Despite the weird note I'm picking up on the dry down, I do enjoy this scent.
ALexCo05/02/25 11:20
This is great realy , i dont get the hate this one gets , personally i often lean more towards fresh perfumes , so i absolutely prefer this over most niche perfumes , its citrusy , it has many similiarities with stuff like terre dhermes edt , versace eros energy and other citrus perfumes like them but it has one accord that makes it stand out a bit more , makes more manly , more refined and more like a "perfume" and not just a scent of citruses , its very subjective of course but unlike what u see online in real life encounters this fragrance realy leaves a good impression , i had multiple compliments about it and for that it became slowly one of my favourites (i realy tried a bunch perfumes in the citrusy grapefruity genre from turathi blue to bvlgari tygar to terre dhermes to eau givree to eros energy and other niche ones , but theres just a note in perseus that makes it stand above for me) , anyway its expensive so would i reccomend it to everybody , definitely not , but i would recommend going to a shop and testing it on you , give it a proper full wear or 2 and you will know if its worth it or not , i think it works in pretty much any season and time of the year as its fresh but its also deep and rich somewhat so it can work imo , its great realy and worth smelling at least once or twice (definitely dont blind buy but that should be a rule for pretty much any perfume apart from very few exceptions)
Basman005/01/25 01:36
I think we can all agree that this is a well done citrus scent that performs pretty well. But the price tag is what makes this a hard sell.
Because so are Terre de Hermes, Bohemian Lime, Light Blue Forever and Grey Vetiver. But they are considerably less expensive.
If you like/have all of these and price is not a issue then it might be a good pick up.
But if not i'd probably look somewhere else first.
UGAMark04/29/25 17:28
Perseus is a nice, very fresh citrus scent. It's a tart citrus - vetiver - woody fragrance and is almost identical to Tom Ford Grey Vetiver EDP (GV is slightly woodier). Arguably, it would be redundant to own both. So if cost is a concern for you, Grey Vetiver would be the cheaper buy at first (around $100 on discount sites), but because Perseus may have stronger performance, it's the better value in the long run since Grey Vetiver may require at least one reapplication during the workday.
If you're considering Perseus, I wouldn't worry about the criticisms that Perseus is linear -- that's what you want it to be (as I do with most of my citric colognes). If you're wearing it, it means you want to smell fresh and clean. If it were to morph into, say, woody or smoky, it would defeat that purpose and might come off as unseasonable for the late spring/summer fragrance that Perseus is.
BigDurian04/28/25 09:34
When I first sprayed Perseus, I didn't care for it too much. Too my nose, it was too much of a sour (although fairly juicy realistic) pungent grapefruit, which didn't suit me.
But as it settled, I started to like it. By the dry-down, like turned into love. It's a soapy, fresh, green(ish), ever so slightly sweet, delight. Projection is a little above moderate, with very good staying power.
I sort of... maybe... kinda... not really... get the comparisons to Terre D'Hermes. But, to me, they are not actually close enough to compare.
Gamecocks1!04/20/25 16:28
I love this one right here. I don't understand people out here wanting to hate on this one but that's fine more for me
Hancholo32104/19/25 08:23
Got a decant of this today, I don’t love it. It has that green spicy notes that Greenly and Sedley have and I’m not crazy about it. I think I’m just going to come to terms that PDM isn’t the house for me.
masonreed04/15/25 13:45
Lobotomized terre d’hermes for broccoliheads. You know what they say about fools and their money….
Tripokaridos04/14/25 09:48
When i first got my sample i said meh, i prefer Terre ... but something happens i wanted to try it more and more and now after 2x 2ml samples i am sure that is inspired by Terre but its not the same for sure , it has character and honestly is very very good quality , is it better than Terre ? To me nope but i want to have this profile i want to get it because i miss using it .
I prefer this more than Sedley and Greenley .
scallan7604/13/25 17:49
My bottle macerated since I obtained it about a year ago. It used to be smoother like Dior Homme Sport x Terre D'Hermes Eau Givree. It is a lot more musky and pungent and sour now, but in a good way. My wife always compliments me and notices i'm wearing this fragrance. I initially tried 8-10 sprays in the store to sample it. But now Ive dialed it down to 2-3 especially if I'm getting into a car . New I gave it a 7/10 rating. Now that it has macerated I say a 9/10. A rare 'Beast Mode' sour freshie !
AventusAbuser04/08/25 00:47
Lowkey underratedddd
StHo04/05/25 19:43
Opening is very similar to Terre D'Hermes like everyone alludes to, but oddly enough, my wife, who has a sensitive sense of smell, really likes Perseus, but not TDH. It's the spice/woody difference apparently. TDH has a hint of spiciness behind the orange while Perseus has more of an effervescence behind the orange opening. Without ever reading a review about the scent, she said it reminds her of Elysium by Roja Dove. I don't smell that, but she isn't the only one to mention it.
All in all, it's a solid scent. Like all PDM, it's pricey, but if you are buying PDM, you expect it to be. I would give it a 7/10. It doesn't wow me like Herod or Oajan, but it is a really nice scent that I wear every now and then and is my favorite of the fresh scents by PDM.
Svindel6904/03/25 09:56
This is my favorite PDM. I dont like PDM normally, but this one smells amazing. Perfect summer scent.
abunglrr04/02/25 07:20
smells like a vape
Nightster04/02/25 00:12
Juicy, sunny and joyfull fragrance. This one makes me happy on sunny spring days.
Very high quality. Great vetiver note.
Sinan106104/01/25 11:10
I think it is very unfair to criticize this perfume because it is too simple. The brand already has different varieties at different levels, the purpose of which is to offer a simple citrus scent at a niche level, I think it succeeds in this. Among citrus perfumes, it is a special scent that gives the feeling of smelling the fruit itself, yes, I accept it, it is as simple as possible. I interpret it as simple but effective. For example, similarly, you need to refresh Terre Dhermes at least twice a day, this perfume has enough performance throughout the day, so while you finish two bottles of TDH, you use one bottle of Perseus, which actually means you pay the same price in total.
siftool03/30/25 14:23
Great! I like it 😘
Imortelle Yo Mama03/27/25 23:40
I think Creed has stepped down into the new 2010s PdM, which was very solid, as where creed used to be, pinnacle. Top tier, like the 90s guerlain. While PdM has stepped down into the same realm as current day Tom Ford, designer dancing around as a niche. PdM now all seem to be ambroxan and vanilla or citrus. White florals for the ladies. Let's see what castaway or whatever the hell it's called, looks/smells like. Grey see-through bottle like sedley and greenly.
ENP Hunter03/25/25 08:44
I am genuinely shocked to see so many people hate on this fragrance. But that's what happens when you are a niche house that caters to a designer audience. The financially challenged get upset that it costs more than $90 at retail and has some "challenging" aspects (not really but sure), and the ultra-niche heads get upset that it doesn't smell like a pirate ship carrying stolen citrus shipments packed in cedar wood crates that have been squashed and destroyed by burning gunpowder-covered cannonballs in battle with the British imperial navy fleet.
This fragrance is long-lasting, strongly projecting, fresh, masculine, modern, and heavily citric with an emphasis on grapefruit. It is built similarly to Aventus in as much as it uses a unique fruity accord, with a dry woody vetiver body, with tonka bean to sweeten it and ambergris (ambroxan) to do its job and amplify sillage. Monster performance, especially for a citrus fragrance that smells as vibrant as this.
The only thing one needs to be concerned about with a fragrance as citrus-heavy as this is that on some skin citrus can turn sour. If that is you, avoid it. If you don't like citrus or wood, I don't even know why you're reading these reviews: big time not for you.
If you like smelling like a classy gentleman in the summer, give this a try.
Salohcin214803/23/25 11:21
The opening is a 10/10 for what it is. It smells like Terre Eau Grivee but smooths out all the sharp edges I didn't like. The mid is okay. The drydown is when it falls apart. It turns into a very linear sour grapefruit accord. Not realistic or rindy just a muted sort of sour grapefruit smell. This reminds me of the old Tom Ford oud accord for some reason. I forgot I was wearing Perseus and thought it was a scent that had a faux oud in the drydown. I can see why this is a love-hate scent in the comments. Overall, moderate to above average performance for a freshie.
One thing I've noticed about PDM scents is that the base/dry-down of most (not all) of their fragrances turn into a bore-fest. I know most will disagree with that statement. Personally, PDM went from a house that I love to a house that I respect but don't necessarily like that much for myself anymore.
divineintervation199403/22/25 07:56
Natural citrus, dries down to earthy vetiver (Sounds similar?). It offers the high quality you would expect from the house Parfums de Marly and it is exceptionally long-lasting for this scent DNA but to be honest, the scent DNA is just not good. Get Terre d' Hermes, pay less and smell even better. Perseus smells too citrusy and doesn't offers the depth that Terre offers.
greekbasil03/16/25 22:18
This is ath blood orange but not as good
DavidFrags1135703/16/25 05:08
Very, very citrusy smells like if you rub a lemon peel on your skin. It is also way to overpriced for what it is.
Q8Lag03/15/25 11:42
Idc what anyone says. This is better than creed aventus ,
Beautiful blend of grapefruit and citrus. With a masculine woody undertone. If you were a millionaire and hired a private shopper. He would pick out this perfume for you.
Simple and elegant. Yes it’s pricey. But if you have an above average salary. I definitely recommend it
Oddy_5903/13/25 04:12
Smells like rotten lemons
Frod03/10/25 19:58
I don’t want to be dramatic but this smells disgusting. Just a disaster of jumbled up notes that do not blend well together….For what it’s worth, this does remind me of Elysium by Roja, I’d say 80-85% similar and I dislike that fragrance as well so maybe it’s just me, but I doubt it.
JeremyNurse03/10/25 08:21
Sadly this was a miss for me. It just came off as grapefruit peels on my skin. Like I peeled a grapefruit and rubbed the underside of the peel all over me. I know people love it and to each their own. Just on my skin it didn't work out.
Elleanie03/10/25 05:23
My husband wears this sometimes and I always feel like it’s very feminine for the first few hours. Not bad but not worth the hype or price tag
Paul.Monk03/10/25 04:45
Yes, this fragrance indeed has similarities to TdH Eau Givree. It has that undeniable fresh Hermes DNA that I absolutely LOVE.
However, for what it is, this stuff is just waaay too expensive. I would rather buy TdH Eau Givree than Perseus.
Performance is average to maybe even slightly below average. Another reason not to buy this fragrance.
5.5/10
Gamecocks1!03/10/25 04:27
I absolutely love it so good. Y'all missing out. You have to take time with a fragrance. You can't just smell it and know what it is about. If it smells like shit. I get it but this one is so beautiful and that drydown is 🔥
rickkkkky03/09/25 11:57
If you like your fragrances pungent, piercing and sour, this is the one for you.
Koyote4403/08/25 06:33
I like this, and got a couple compliments while wearing it during this hot summer. Lasts till I got back home from work and then some. Projecting for some 2-3 hours, then gradually starting loosing projection to a skin scent at around 8pm, so usually it is a 10-12 hrs.
Overall I like it a lot for hot days, a tiny bit similar to Torino21.
Oxymoron_frag03/08/25 05:27
Not original, not unique, but somehow special. I think it’s the great quality and the PDM signature touch. I love this!
Hadi Koko03/06/25 05:10
I blind bought this because I was looking for a summer fruity fragrance and regretted it almost instantly. Synthetic citruses, harsh greenish vetiver and synthetic woody notes. I also regretted not buying Amouage Search or Reflection Man instead, both of which are cheaper and better quality.
Schoeibksr03/05/25 00:40
Such a uncreative cashgrab, citrusy top note ends on a base full of harsh & piercing woody ambers. You can get a similar scent profile for 20$ elsewhere.
LVfragrance03/04/25 17:19
$365 rotten fruit smell
Whatevertfgoeshere03/03/25 23:43
Perseus is aight. Not the best but its high quality
Similar to Percival its kinda basic for a niche fragrance. but unlike Percival, Perseus doesn’t feel like the king of its kind
Theres so many other good citrus grapefruit scents: Bvlgari Tygar, Vibrato Soapiro, Blu de chanel
And for orange scents Versache or Louis Vatton costs around the same or less
Id say skip Perseus it doesnt stand out. Buy something else with that money. Theres a ton of other good fresh zests scents
zeem3503/01/25 04:36
Such an under rated perfume. I love it!
DanyoTS02/18/25 10:29
I love this perfume! Smells very nice, fresh and elegant .I can easily feel the vetiver, bergamot ,grapefruit and something woody notes. Reminds me a little bit of Terre D'Hermes Eau Intense Vetiver ,but the quality of Perseus is better. The performance is excellent for fresh fragrance!
BreLee02/06/25 20:59
Newly tried at my favorite local shop - love!
Keep smelling my wrist over and over - & this one has plenty of silage already.
Reminds me a bit a Versace Versense

An interesting offering by PDM. Not complex by any means and rather linear on my skin. Doesn't seem like anything extraordinary, both on paper and when sprayed; BUT, there is just something about this one that puts me in a great mood and makes me want to smell it all day long (maybe my love for grapefruits/ oranges). When I first sprayed it I had to have it and it's one of my favourite freshies by this house. Yes, greenley and sedley are slightly more complex (I have and love both of these as well) but there is just something different about Perseus that I really enjoy that's difficult to pin-point. Added benefit is performance, one of the best projecting and longest lasting freshies I own. Having said that, I definitely wouldn't recommend a blind buy here.
focusblast33301/31/25 00:32
I find this citrus to be too astringent for my liking. Its legitimately sour, strong, dry, and only slightly bitter. Lemonhead levels of strength, like you're going to make that puckered lips sour face. If you want a giant lemon as a fragrance, this is it. Its not necessarily unappealing, but is too intense.

Artwerk01/30/25 06:11
Amazing citrus, orange & vetiver fragrance. Great for Summer, Spring & Fall, Perseus is my go to "When it Rains" Fragrance. Also great for Work. It has been compared to Terre D'Hermes Eau Givrée, I can understand the comparison but to my nose Perseus smells smoother...is it 3 x the price smoother? I haven't worn Terre D'Hermes Eau Givrée enough to give you an honest answer. I will say that Perseus has good longevity and performance and like with some of my other PDMs it seems to have gotten better with time.
armandoo9501/23/25 09:57
Am I the only one that finds this very similar to Clive Cristian Town & Country. I have both and smelled side by side they are very close. Town & Country is one of my favorites i recieved the perseus on a tester from another purchase
Robusto01/17/25 09:37
This is 100% TDH Eau Givree but not as juicy....IMO. Perseus has a little more musk in the drydown and is dryer. It's redundant to own both. I would personally go with TDH Eau Givree because of the price alone. If you have the money to burn and would like a cool orange bottle on your shelf, go with Perseus.
Tripokaridos01/17/25 07:26
This is not a Clone of Terre EDT or Givree or Elysium ... its a clone of Terre Pure Perfume side by side u can detect so many similarities .
FragOut1101/15/25 18:09
Its nice can't hate.
But any citrus Aqua De Parma is better and cheaper.
jlt-_-01/14/25 20:41
First time, in my experience, PDM launches something worse than the original - Eau Givree without lovely juniper berries.
Bkkorn01/12/25 14:41
The 3 notes that stand out the most are grapefruit, vetiver and Cashmeran.
This isn't even close to Terre Hermes. Quite honestly, I'm not a fan of TDH cause it smells dated and "old man". Perseus on the other hand, is more vibrant, fresh and cheerful. It also lasts a heck of a long time, I smelled it on my clothes the following day very easily.
Good dumb reach signature scent for those who like woody-citrus scents.
mentalplane01/06/25 23:30
I can't believe this is an actual fragrance that's being sold for money. Holy crap this stuff is awful. Eau Givree is the Mona Lisa compared to Perseus.

Trench1419!01/02/25 10:45
I read a way to see how much is in my bottle, where they're painted like Perseus. I had stopped using my bottle, because I was worried it was getting low, but I put my phone flashlight up next to it, and could see how much liquid is left! I still have like 60% of the 75 ml bottle left! I used Perseus and Louis Vuitton Pacific Chill the most, during the warmer days this past year. I just love the uplifting, citrus notes and ambergris in Perseus, and the kiwi and green apple notes in Pacific Chill.
I had bought the masculine sample set from PDM, and wasn't really blown away by any of them, except Haltane. I wouldn't buy that from PDM, because they charge so much for it! I was just going to let my $50 off coupon expire, but then, the guy at Nordstrom gave me a sample of Perseus, and it was just love at first smell! I used my coupon to order that, and it's one of my favorite fragrances I've bought or even tried so far! I might get something like LV L'immensite, Afternoon Swim, or Symphony, to fill that orange citrus warm weather fragrance spot, but I will probably just buy another bottle of Perseus, when I use all of this one! It just works with my nose.
LukeSaintLaurent01/01/25 18:23
This smells absolutely horrid. Citruses are blended in such a way that this smells rotten and bitter at the same time, Like a sour fruit that has been left out for weeks. I physically recoiled when I first smelled this.
lorys12/31/24 08:37
Strong grapefruit punch.
For me, the resemblance to Terre D'Hermes Eau Givree is just too striking to justify being twice as expensive. The parameters are similar in both, the only difference that I can smell is the lack of that little synthetic note that is present in Eau Givree. Not worthy of the niche price point..
KJS8812/30/24 01:07
Incredibly bright and sunny, but my partner asks me if I’ve spilled superglue when I wear it. Same response when I used Sauvage and Turathi Blue. Definitely ambroxan heavy, and that’s the note that usually inspires that reaction from her in other fragrances, and I recognise it too.
Minty312/21/24 14:22
Ok scent, it is heavily a summer scent you’d almost only wear this on the beach, it has good longevity for a fresh fragrance. For the price I don’t think it’s worth it you can get something better for half the price it’s a slightly different freshy.
For me I do see why people sometimes say it’s a bit like a cleaning product. 6/10
SleepyHaed12/18/24 16:03
So, I voted this to be eternal, but with mediocre sillage, because I sprayed this on my wrist, and I was wearing a sweater at the time, so it ended up soaking into the sleeve a bit as I walked around. After spraying it, it immediately died down to barely radiate off of my arm. It was there, but you had to be close to smell it. It's a pretty simple and straightforward scent, just smells like grapefruit with a bit of woodiness. It's simple for it's entire life to me. It didn't change at all from when it began to dry down, to now, three days later, where I can still just barely smell it on my sleeve. I don't hate this, but I don't think I'd buy a full bottle... if I was gifted a bottle, I'd definitely wear it if I want to wear something new for the day. Perhaps my mistake was trying this out in winter.
Afc_Croatian12/18/24 09:30
It's fragrances like these that remind us of what differentiates between Niche & Designer sometimes.
Usually, citrus-dominant Designer scents, as pleasant as they are, tend to have an underlying synthetic note. In Terre D'Hermes Eau Givree (a similar scent) it's very smooth with a grapefruit undertone.
But then a Niche scent like Perseus comes in and you feel like you're smelling a fresh mandarin and bergamot right from the tree. I think this has been hated because although smooth, it didn't feel like a different enough release compared to what's come in today's market.
But I come to Perseus' defense:
- it's much different than any other PDM release
- in an era of gourmands, Perseus is a breath of fresh air
- incredibly smooth citrus opening at a fair price for niche on discounters
For me, it's an 8.5/10
Olivertitus12/13/24 13:06
I believe the black currant and grapefruit makes this smell bitter and quite nasty to me. I was expecting something fresh like aventus or azure lime. The drydown is pretty good. Buy this if you like a very tart scent, but I think Eros Energy is a better option.
PlatinumEgoiste12/12/24 20:10
Citrus blast followed by relentless nausea. There is only one other fragrance (besides this one) that made me nauseous enough to scrub it off my hand multiple times, and that was Armaf Milestone. EXTREMELY NAUSEATING.
TC199612/12/24 00:05
Stuff is great.
Grapefruit/wood smelling. Could call it a bit generic, and the price on PDM is a bit ridiculous in general, but overall one of my faves.
Mjchaelj12/10/24 16:02
Basically a modern Terre D’Hermes that doesnt smell mature. This feels like sipping a fizzy grapefruit soda on a hot day on an Italian beach. This is so juicy and fantastic. It dries down to some peppery woods. Classy but also casual, could be worn in a t shirt or dressed up. If you don’t enjoy sour citrus stuff you won’t enjoy this.

I remember I was deeply disappointed smelling this fragrance. For $30, I think it would be reasonable, but for the price they are charging, this is possibly the most underwhelming scent out there. Simply put, it smells like a generic woody grapefruit fragrance, which is not unpleasant in any way, but which is very boring to my nose.
Price-value - 0.3/10
Ignoring price - 3/10 imo

By far top 3 worst things ive ever smelled
Fabean11/30/24 14:16
On first spray It was super citrus forward and bright but after awhile it started reminding me of Terre D Hermes. It definitely has its own character cause the citruses here are turned up to 11 compared to TDH and its balanced citrus and vetiver combo. But Its close enough that due to the pricing, I'd say go for TDH instead cause the price is better and you're not really losing that much with performance cause TDH is very decent. However, if someone isn't a fan of how dry TDH can be, then I can recommend this due to its stronger citrus note. Can't go wrong with any citrus vetiver perfume as the versatility is super good.
Ville I11/29/24 01:56
The different citrus notes put together in this smell almost like an orange to my nose. Goes without saying with PDM, but smells really natural and super high quality. The citrus in here is not one of those short lived opening blasts, it is not too sweet, not too sour, not too dry and not too juicy; it is just the perfect balance and all the supporting notes do an amazing job for the citrus. It is not the kind of aggressive in your face citrus, but a deep and rich kind that lasts a long time but seems to sit pretty close to the skin, at least without some proper heat.
A very well made citrus scent - maybe the best I have ever smelled - but at the end of day citrus is just citrus. If you want the best citrus scent and don´t mind the price, this could be it, but I feel I´ve got this base covered with Dior Sport and will go with Percival instead for a PDM freshie. I would still take Perseus over Sedley or Greenley, or even Percival on a hot summer day, but we don´t get many of those where I live.
Santana182111/27/24 12:43
I can’t believe people comparing this with D&G and terre the hermes, people are out of their mind. this is its own stuff the longevity alone is better than even most LV freshies, if anything this reminds me just a little bit of symphony by LV, but this is far more complex because of the combination of notes, I got a lot of compliments from this one, its veryy mass appealing but also feels very niche.
RyanDaRaider11/26/24 21:11
Hard to “hate” this. Look PDM does one thing very well, all of there colognes are “safe”. That can be a reason to “hate” or “love” the house. Honestly I find the house pretty desirable because most of their stuff is so easy to wear. That being said man this is just one big blast of citrus. It’s a one trick poney. I think MFK does a better job so this is a pass 7/10
ENP Hunter11/11/24 08:41
Man, I really enjoy this one. We shall see, but I heavily suspect this will be the first Parfums de Marly fragrance I actually decide to purchase. I have sampled this on multiple occasions, and there are a few things that I can attest to. First of all, the performance on this one is fantastic. It should be rated long lasting and strong in instead of long lasting and moderate. By no means overbearing, as evidenced by the slim majority vote in favor of moderate. Other than on skin, it has also show to last and project. I sprayed a paper with it four times, and it projected from the counter when I walked by all weekend.
The scent itself is both juicy and dry. The grapefruit is less photorealistic than something like Light Blue Forever, and falls more in line with Light Blue Italian Love. However, it is important to understand that bergamot, black current, and "green mandarin" are all in there as well, so its not just a pure grapefruit. Rather, it is a juicy, fruity, grapefruit concoction. The dryness here comes from the "dry wood" notes in combination with the vetiver, which is the next most distinct note. The Tonka bean here plays the role of a very slight sweetener, just so that the fragrance isn't a bomb of dry grapefruit and woods, and has some mass appeal.
Speaking of mass appeal, the cashmere wood (probably cashmeran) plays a comparable role to ISO E Super as an amber/musk note, and Ambergris (probably an ambroxan derivative) plays a role in granting the fragrance extra lift and projection. If you or someone you know is a fan of the Terre d'Hermes fragrance DNA, and is in the kind of area that enjoys masculine vetiver based freshies, this could be a massive compliment getter that is both classy and casual at the same time.
xavier06070011/10/24 21:37
it smells like bo if I could describe it to me it smells like someone's butt cheeks after running 10miles and sweating all day if u want someone to tell you that you smell odd you'll be sure to get those compliments when using this sometimes smelling unique is not the best idea.
UltraSigmaAuraMaxxer11/10/24 06:44
Terrible.
I am disappointed in PDM after making this. So basic it is Terre D'Hermes but without the earther note, JUST CITRUS.
I would not buy this, if you want a fresh PDM get Greenly or Sedly. DO NOT BUY PERSEUS!!!
Manny4411/07/24 21:19
Huge thumbs down. Same problem as Greenley ( Shampoo-basic citrus shower gel composition) although I think I like this one even less. Fails the most basic test of a fragrance...smell really good.I went through a whole bottle of D&G Forever and that's a much , MUCH better fragrance. Definitely test first.
alphairone11/06/24 10:08
A strong grapefruit is already a hard sell for me. Except for some rare exceptions, Hermès Un Jardin Sur Le Nil and Terre d'Hermes being two of them, I find most prominent grapefruit accords become so sour on my skin that they almost come off as an off-putting, sweaty B.O. The sulphuric facets, while subtle on most people I imagine, come out full force. Clearly, that is a "me" problem, but I must disclose that truth. Aside from that, the citrus in Perseus is Perseus-TANTLY persistent, and that could only mean one thing: a harshness, a nagging shrillness carries through its development, which beast-mode bros are tickled pink over, but I just find it offensive.
The vetiver and grapefruit together give me immediate impressions of Terre d'Hermes, but this soon gives way to the "dry wood" accord which is pretty much a bulwark of wood ambers that dissolves what little nuance (PdM? Nuance?) into a cotton ball soaked in isopropyl alcohol effect. Henceforth, its an instant scrubber at that point. I am sure this review will result in the resentful Fragrantica "purple balloon" but something this persistent and synthetic just makes me feel nauseous. To each their own, I suppose.
JHILLY9910/17/24 12:34
Man this is a good fragrance! My only criticism is it's not very original. Many other fragrances immediately came to mind when I sprayed this. In particular I was reminded of TDH ETF in the opening. In the dry down the vetiver and patchouli from Perseus is much more noticable, so there is a difference. I get mainly grapefruit and vetiver in the opening, and the patchouli and other woods come out to play in the later dry down. The performance on this fragrance is what really stands out. I put this on yesterday afternoon before class, got a compliment from my parents and a couple from people at school. I could still smell it when I got home, but what's crazier is I can still smell it perfectly the next day! I'm currently at work almost 24 hours later with different clothes on, and Im still getting strong waffs of it! I'm really impressed with this, I can tell you it will be a summer time staple of mine. Go ahead and try you a sample, it might surprise you too!
Wee keavo10/15/24 12:59
Citrus and that's it. Literally the only thing you can say about this fragrance
QbanoHavano710/14/24 13:18
Orangey-Grapefruity shampoo…
Snozzberry10/12/24 18:12
Smells good, but nothing special. I got a little bit of grapefruit, orange, black currant, and balsam fir in the initial blast. Some geranium and vetiver in the background before it disappeared. There are some similarities to TdH EdP and DG Light Blue Forever. Barely lasted 30 minutes on my skin and projection was terrible. So many other houses have done this same scent profile with way better performance and a more affordable price--go with TdH EdP over this.
Mentamo10/04/24 09:20
A blast of citrus initially, then a warm smell of freshly washed clothes. If you actually spray it on your clothes, it'll stay there for several days if not weeks. I bought this as an office friendly summer perfume and I received a ton of compliments for it. In the opening it's definitely similar to Terre d'Hermès, but then it settles into something like a citrusy hybrid of Warm Cotton from the brand "Clean". Definitely not super niché, but the smell is insanely nice, uplifting and refreshing. The best way I can describe it is "Newly washed clothes with a warm touch". Perfect as an every day perfume that'll please everyone who's close to you. Pro tip: spray 50% on your clothes and you'll both feel and smell fresh the entire day, even during super hot summer days.
Imortelle Yo Mama10/02/24 05:13
PdM has been doing long lasting citrus for years now. Nothing new. Percival and galloway come to mind. This is very uplifting and almost heavy enough to be called a dark citrus. Very nice, smooth dry down too. PdM are just master's at making things smell good. I don't think there's a single bad smelling PdM, so far my least favorite is carlisle, and honestly that smells very nice too.
Trench1419!09/28/24 08:48
I LOVE Parfums de Marly Perseus!!! I'm sure I've already written a review on here, but I wanted to add my idea that people could start reporting how much their full and empty bottles weigh on here, because I bought a 75 ml bottle a couple months ago, after I fell in love with it, and had a $50 off coupon from ordering their sample pack. I love Haltane too, but I wasn't motivated to actually order a bottle of PDM until I tried Perseus!!!
I absolutely love that bright, tart, uplifting grapefruit top scent note, and the ambergris dry down is just perfect. I didn't even know how ambergris smelled before I tried Perseus, and I'm sure that it's not real ambergris, but just ambroxide or ambroxan; I forget which one is a brand name, but it smells amazing to my nose.
I just got into this hobby about six months ago, but I've already bought some really nice fragrances. Perseus is probably my favorite summer fragrance overall. I got a compliment from the cashier at the gas station a couple weeks ago or so. I just ran in to grab a couple gallons of milk, and I used a couple sprays of Perseus before I left the house.
The lady cashier said that she really liked my fragrance, and that she had worked at the Dillard's fragrance department in the past, and she made a joke that she should recognize the scent. I told her that it was Parfums de Marly Perseus, and she asked where I got it. I told her that I ordered it from their website, but Nordstrom sells it too, and she said that she hasn't been to Nordstrom in a long time, and she wants to go again. It was really nice.
Anyway, if people could start weighing their full and empty Perseus bottles, then maybe we could use that information to determine how much is left in our own bottles. I wish I would've thought of that before I started using my bottle. At least I'll be able to weigh it after it's empty.
Edelzwicker09/27/24 14:22
PdM has a bit of a reputation for making fragrances that replicate other fragrances, and I don’t personally have a problem with it, because in the cases I’m aware of, I think the PdM versions are better. When I sampled TdH Eau Givree, I really wanted to love it, it’s almost perfect, but the dry cedar note (I think it’s the iso e super) was too aggressive and cloying to my nose. I have the same issue with the original edt.
Perseus is an almost 1:1 of TdH Eau Givree, but without the aggressive wood note. I mean to say, that they have almost the same woody aspect, but in Perseus it doesn’t feel like sand paper in my nostrils. It’s almost like they read my mind and said, “Hey, here you go, we fixed it.”
They definitely copied it, but honestly they kinda perfected it, so you’ll get no arguments from me as far as that goes.
This is personal favorite representation of the TdH DNA. Don’t listen to the noise. Go test it. It’s a banger.
MertG709/21/24 01:19
This smells incredible in the air and it has a really good sillage.
jordannmessner09/21/24 00:32
This is an interesting fragrance. It manages to have a strong projecting, longlasting citrus note, which can be hard to manage. It is also incredibly refreshing, and the citrus note is a good balance of multiple fruits, giving the citrus accord itself complexity. However, as for the overall complexity of the fragrance, it is rather simple and linear. You'll get a great, longlasting, projecting citrus note, but that's about it. I'm not sure if it is worth having over other citrus fragrances on the market that can offer something more interesting and less linear.
anthonyls10109/20/24 07:16
Quite literally smells like terre d hermes but a little less mature
Wytelyne09/20/24 07:06
I got my bottle yesterday morning and sprayed it on my wrist at around 11 am leaving a beautiful sheen. Smelt like a natural mandarin orange🍊. Took a bath around 5:30 pm and I could still smell it on my wrist after the bath. Wore it as my scent of the day to work (10 sprays at 6 pm). Medium projection for the first 4 hours and was still getting wafts at 6 am in the morning. There was a moment when I thought it was gone but I started getting wafts again. So the lasting power is there 12+ hours and I was sweating a lot and the scent went from my neck to my shirt. Lasts 24 hours as a skin scent. You have blue and green fragrances. This is a orange 🍊 fragrance, no pun intended. I love it. Gave it another wear today 27.09.24. Applied at 6:30 am and was projecting strongly for most of the day. Got a compliment around 12 pm. Co worker was asking if I use Ariel/Breeze to wash my shirt because he's been smelling me for some time and was asking how I got it (the soap powder) to smell so strong on my shirt and if I had dried it inside the washing machine. lol I asked him if it was cologne he was smelling and he said no, it is something soapy. It was Perseus that he was smelling though. A little pass 9 pm and I'm still getting wafts. This is truly a beast of a freshy. Seems the performance has even improved which was already great. I chose this over Percival and I'm glad I did as I have other blue fragrances. Also note when I applied it this morning it was burning my skin where I had applied although the inflammation went a way quickly. Maybe too strong.
Gamecocks1!09/19/24 20:18
I absolutely love this fragrance! Y'all need to fix this site. One reason perseus is rated higher than this. This is a joke these people on here has never smelt it. I would say a dam good bit of y'all. Please fix this site with letting anyone just get on it and say what they want. If this was my site I would make you send a picture of your fragrance before leaving a review. Lot of false reviews

I want to like this so much. But I dont. Its refreshing yes. Its sophisticated yes. Its what summer should smell like yes. Its what I should like as well but I dont.
offsubject09/17/24 17:42
This smells really close to Terre d’Hermes Hermes
ENP Hunter09/17/24 12:18
I recently tried four (4) fragrances on skin. Perseus on my left hand, the new Chanel on my upper left forearm, Althair or mt right hand, and Creed's Aventus on my upper right forearm. Out of the freshies mentioned, Perseus lasted the longest and projected equally well (Althair was actively at war with the others though, goodness is that a nuke). I am surprised by how much I really love this scent. It is fresh and tart, but it isn't dry (it still has some natural fresh sweetness coming from the fruit, and maybe that tonka?). I am heavily tempted to purchase this and feel like it is their best freshie. I also love Greenley and Percival, Sedley is okay, but I feel like they really hit it out of the park with this one. Might end up being my first full bottle of PDM if it pops up on FragranceBuy under $200.00, but I am also eyeing some other things in that price range so we will see. I am actually surprised this one doesn't get any hype, but I suppose given the fact that it is a fresh fragrance from a house beloved for their sweet/spicy fragrances, as well as the fact that this directly followed the sweet, compliment getting, nuclear bomb of a release that was Althair, that it makes sense. I cannot comment of the Hermes comparisons as I am unfamiliar with that fragrance line. However, what it does remind me of (stay with me now) is like if they made an incredibly fresh, vetiver/grapefruit flanker, of Intense Cedrat Boise. Also kind of like, but much fresher and tarter than, D&G Light Blue Forever. It also performs substantially better than Light Blue Forever. I feel like this is a universal dumb reach like Dior Sauvage, Aventus, Percival, etc.
eko.mtfkr09/17/24 02:03
Citrusy, woody, perfect for a daily with bomb performance (daytime/warm weather) for a freshie.
Works well in the office, and not only. I wouldn't recommend for younger adults (<25).
The best PDM yet.
Adze.Vx09/15/24 22:54
All I can smell is a linear earthy strong citrus zest, happy I get a free original sample and didn’t put money on it. Terre d’Hermes eau givrée smells better but the performance is better on perseus, they are not similar (for me).
Stinkystench09/13/24 16:06
Pricy but so good.
Opening reminds of TDH eau givree and kinda sorta like Mancera Lemon Line.
TDH stays sharp from start to end. Mancera has a more lemon candy-like opening which fades away quick.
But THIS right here!
Opens with sweet grapefruit, citrus. And becomes smoother as time passes by. Smoother, fruitier and sweeter.
It's like the citrus notes just become smoother and smoother. From grapefruit to Florida oranges. Absolutely amazing in hot weather. It was pricy but this oozes quality. Love it.
8.5/9
A month later.
Grapefruit and green mandarine. Until it dries down to tart citrus blend with woods.
Still love it. It's in the same family as TDH eau givree but dries waaay different.
Gamecocks1!09/09/24 19:40
Love it so dam good 👍
msamalr1409/07/24 11:32
My best PDM so far! Perseus Smells incredible, and well made. It can be reminiscent to Terre D Hermes, but far better, more complex and longer lasting. The grapefruit note is prominent here and sparkles on summer days. Vetiver and woods notes are well balanced, not over powering, almost working on developing an enhancement to the fragrance. Definitely worth it and is my top one in PDM.
coolpugs123409/05/24 22:39
smells amazing, elysium cologne meets tdh, very realistic grapefruit note
performance: 10/10

Burperry09/04/24 18:42
I like PdM but this fragrance is terrible. Synthetic and extremely cirtrusy (grapefruit). A single spray hurt the back of my nasal cavity after an hour, leaving me with a feeling of a slight cold. If you love citrus smells then this might work for you. Strong projection and lasts at least 4 hours (I had to wash it off)
goiemarius09/03/24 12:32
Great longevity, great sillage, fruity-freshie, not tdh, this is something else. My first PDM and I’m happy with it.
First hour is efervescent grapefruit, then a juicy mandarin with vetiver and the drydown is insanely good on my skin. Quality stuff!
BandmanMrBandman09/02/24 20:06
I wanted to like this so much but is my least favorite PDM freshie but maybe it’s just a skin chemistry thing. Smelled pretty good on paper picked up the grapefruit, and an ambergris but on skin I get a cheap synthetic smelling vetiver that overwhelms the citrus musk. Deadass reminds me of cardboard. Performance is decent lasting 6+ hours. I’ve only smelled TDH EDT but the grapefruit and vetiver in that isn’t really comparable to Perseus imo and honestly prefer it over this, smells classier and cleaner.
tjpfz608/30/24 08:12
The guy below me hasn't tried KALAN, No its not BR540 either.
This is a grapefruit musky dna thats been beat to death........
exmin08/29/24 05:44
the first niche perfume from the house everything else is designer slop
Gamecocks1!08/26/24 17:17
I love perseus so dam good. Rated 3.89 bull shit. This is how I know people are full of shit. They compare it to Roja Elysium and Terre d'Hermès. Well I can see that but it stands alone. Perseus is so clean and beautiful. High quality. But these people love Terre d'Hermès and roja elysium but hate on pdm. Get out of here with the bull shit
denden_2208/26/24 07:07
For me, as a lover of fresh vetiver and citrus, this is a masterpiece. Td'H is also a masterpiece but they are different enough to easily have both in the collection. The performance for a freshie is bonkers too.
9.6/10
Rconectn08/23/24 04:58
Sometimes you just want a fresh smelling perfume that isn’t loud nor beast mode. This perfume is perfect for the summertime here in South Florida. In my climate, hot and humid, I want something that I can spray on and not worry if the fragrance will become cloying in the heat, Perseus is perfect for those times. This perfume does not remind me of Terre d'Hermes, nor does it smell like other vetiver based fragrances. Perseus Is fresh and uplifting, it’s a fragrance that’s meant to make you feel fresh and invigorated. Sometimes I don't want a perfume that is a beast and I want something that I get whiffs of occasionally and Perseus fits the bill nicely. It's a fantastic fragrance.
hamudej070908/22/24 15:31
I'm a huge fan of citrus fragrances but I wish they would last longer, there is no sillage, and leave my body very quickly, I would not blindly buy just for that but otherwise for the smell AMAZING, it is like Aqua di Parma in the sense of longevity and smell Overall it would be a 10/10 in smell but like a 3/10 in performance I am disappointed. also, I don't get enough smell to get to the base its just citrus a few plants, and then nothing.
Koyote4408/22/24 06:16
This has a zingy citrus note that lasts forever. Similar to Torino21 on that specific note.
I put it yesterday at night, around 22:00, and now 9am I can still faintly smell it on my skin.
I cannot compare this to any Terre d'Hermes as I don´t own any, nor to Light Blue Forever because I don´t have any of that line, but it does remind me of both the classic Elysium and the eau intense version, with some tints of Torino 21. It does not smell like any of those scents, it just happens that some notes are similar.
Overall, it is a great summer punchy fragrance, it is not redundant if you have Percival, Sedley, or Greenley (these last 2 are for extreme heat, they last just a couple hours and are not very punchy).
michaelc88708/10/24 17:32
smells great, if you can get it, even the small bottle for under 140-145 USD, it’s a great buy. Yeah it smells like Terre d’hermes, but it’s way longer lasting, projects significantly more, and smells better.
S.ykov08/09/24 11:48
Smooth citrus that's not like the classic louis vuitton citrus which I find too much and almost stinging my nose. This might be because of the woody nature of this fragrance.
Really nice citrusy opening that's really heavy and smooth citrus and dries down into insane woody scent with some citrus still clinging on. My favorite citrus and definitely my top 5 woody.
10/10
TrenchHog5508/08/24 22:54
What a lovely fragrance. Really sharp grapefruit pared with a beautiful wood smell. It takes me to a old cabin in the summer time.
rmnnnnn08/08/24 00:35
What are you on comparing this to Terre d'Hermes? If you hate Terre (and all its permutations) the same as I do, don't be scared to give Perseus a chance, it's not THAT similar. You can smell the Terre DNA there, but it's like 3% of the whole volume in the background.
Very solid release and a DNA that complements the PDM offering nicely.
Also, this is not "just summer day fragrance" as the voting suggests here. You can definitely wear this all year long.
Skipcon08/06/24 23:40
One of the better PDM's in the last few years. Beats Kalan and Althair by a mile. They were both boring mediocre releases. Honestly, don't overlook this. It's one of those fragrances you need to give a whole day to, wear it as your scent of the day.
I have a bottle and the performance is surprisingly long lasting the the grapefruit persists all the way throughout the fragrance.
I've sold all my other grapefruit fragrances and kept this, it's the nicest and best performing of the lot.
4/5
Ayshearbrtsn08/02/24 13:33
Having nearly all the ‘feminine’ leaning scents from PDM in my cabinet, this was a dip in the waters of the ‘masculine’. Having tried Althair - which going by notes I should have adored but was sorely disappointed by - I wasn’t expecting much from this sample. But wow! I am blown away. The initial cool, sharp citrus tang levels out over time and mellows into a beautiful woodsy warmth that, for me, is begging to be layered with a woody vanilla to add just a touch of sweetness. I am now fighting the urge to pull the trigger on a FB - not the right time here in Scotland as we head towards autumn - but would be interesting to see how it performs in cooler weather too. Not that Scotland is tropical currently anyway 😂
AP Riyadh07/31/24 15:56
If you love vetiver, then this one will not disappoint. After a sweet and fresh opening, I get creamy fresh grapefruit + vetiver in the dry down which is extremely pleasant.
I sense there is Ambroxan in the base, hence keep getting whiffs of the perfume couple of hours after application.
This is clean, fresh versatile and office safe.
Shukran Habibi!
RifleZz07/27/24 12:50
Love the grapefruit & orange side of Perseus, but the green & woody notes ruin it for me. They make the otherwise great high quality citruses smell way too green and nasty.
If you like vetiver you might like this, but personaly I can't stand vetiver as it reminds me of a gross & old & rotten salad that was left in an old moldy basement (Encre Noir ruined vetiver for me).
Trench1419!07/26/24 09:42
I just got a sample of Perseus a couple weeks ago, and I love it so far! I had ordered the Parfums de Marly masculine sample set a while ago, like a month ago maybe, and just wasn't that impressed. I just felt like I had better alternatives already for the ones that I actually liked in the samples I got, which were Althair, Layton Exclusif, Haltane, Greenley, Percival, Layton, Carlisle, Pegasus, and Herod. For example, I really like Greenley and Haltane, but I already own Louis Vuitton Pacific Chill and Ombre Nomade and also Nuit de Feu.
But then I went to Nordstrom a couple weeks ago, and my friend who works there gave me a sample of PDM Perseus, and I love that one!!! The bright, vibrant, refreshing grapefruit top note has an almost effervescent effect when I smell it, and the dry down is indescribable. I don't know if it's the ambergris scent note they say is in this fragrance, or if they use Ambroxan or some other artificial scent. I'm not educated enough on the subject to guess. I just know that I love how it smells.
Yesterday, I practically doused myself in my LV fragrances before work. I also used one spray of Perseus on the back of my left hand. All day at work, I couldn't stop smelling my left hand! It smells so good!!!
Edit on July 31, 2024: I got my order from PDM a few days ago, including the 75 ml bottle of Perseus! I've been using it for the past few days, and it's quickly become one of my favorite fragrances. So far, I think my favorite layering combo is either just with Mancera Instant Crush, or with Tom Ford Noir Extreme EDP, or with Azzaro The Most Wanted Parfum and Intense EDP, or with Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade. The bright, uplifting grapefruit in Perseus REALLY compliments those scents.
Gamecocks1!07/20/24 19:10
Alright update I own all the ones y'all say it smells like. Y'all are full of shit. Perseus stands alone nothing smells like it. It is so dam good love it. People lie like hell 😂
OLKE07/18/24 01:55
After reading reviews, I was sceptical about this being my first PDM fragrance but alas I had saw it was a good for a summery fragrance and wanted to go for something not as common as the other PDM, also considering it released this year it would be a more current fragrance in my collection.
I love it, the opening notes are the highlight of this fragrance as once you spray it instantly hits with the fruity notes. It's a good fragrance that I definitely recommend but the price is daunting in PDM fashion and you could go for other fragrances with more interesting and powerful notes especially for summer fragrances but Perseus is still a great fragrance
sh8307/17/24 08:55
This absolutely is similar to TDH but not nearly as smooth or appealing. There is almost a medicinal quality to it in the first several minutes. Not sure this will be in the rotation as I can't imagine reaching for this over my TDH when I want that vibe.
MantasPil07/16/24 11:36
Had a chance to test it at shop today. Not a fan of it and probably not going to try it again, but longevity and sillage is fantastic. 8h, gym and a shower later ir still radiates of my arm I sprayed twice. Beast mode fragrance.
Tomcat197807/15/24 00:47
At first I was a bit skeptical about Perseus due to some reviews I read... when I tested it on my skin I was immediately hooked. The opening is absolutely fantastic with a burst of juicy Grapefruit which is dominant even in the dry down... the vetiver used for this fragrance is a perfect match and supports the fresh citrus notes.
On my skin Perseus is a beast and lasts easily 12 to 14 hours... If you live in a hot environment, this fragrance will shine the higher the temperatures get (I'm based in Thailand so it's always hot here)
It has some similarities with Light Blu Forever but is so much better than D&G.... don't listen to the haters, this PDM release is incredible!
Dcphill8107/13/24 20:38
I really am enjoying it.. smells very soapy clean.. performs very good for a summer scent..
Gamecocks1!07/13/24 12:08
Pdm done a great job on this one. Great longevity and high quality. It stands alone it does not smell like nothing else. People are full of shit. These sites are full of shit on the ratings. I know it is higher than this. You can't believe these sites anyway. People will rate something that they don't even have. They know it is a popular name and going to hate. They are popular for a reason just like they do about creed
stardust_ziggy07/09/24 03:48
I love Terre d’Hermes and TDH Eau Givree. But TDH Eau Fraiche (TDHEF) is hands down the worst fragrance I have ever smelled. This smells more like TDHEF but not AS bad. I rated TDHEF as 1/10 the only fragrance I have ever given that low of a rating too, but I would say this is 4.5/10. Maybe 5/10.
IamdrinkingBeer07/09/24 01:28
Very bright, sharp grapefruit. Very realistic, but too sharp for me. Its perfect for a younger crowd, for days like this, where heat is just insane. But too sharp and strong for my nose sadly.
EDIT (a day later): This is fantastic, i dont think this is a copy of TDH, this is all about realistic juicy grapefruit. Its perfect for summer, seriously, try it. Ignore the haters, this is an actual great PDM together with Herod, Carlisle and Layton.
Tritiumxz07/08/24 02:35
If you want to smell 70% like this, just buy encre noire sport it smells very similar, it just smells more vetiver and less grapefruit, but they are very similar for 265 bucks and 30 bucks. It smells good but quite disappointed with this one
holyslap07/07/24 16:57
@Pagyeman
I was going to order it online but for some reason told myself not today and I still haven't bought it. Seems like i made the right choice lol.
Pagyeman07/07/24 12:58
@holyslap you posted your comment two hours after I posted mine. You said you decided to buy the fragrance based off my recommendation. I made the post around 10 PM so I know Neiman Marcus, Saks and Nordstrom were closed. So where did you buy it at 10 in the night I got it delivered and tried it and already hate it.
Smellgood_morechairs07/07/24 12:02
I don’t know what it is about this fragrance but I love it after sampling it. Definitely a mood changer for me had to buy a bottle of it 4.2 to be exactly to make sure it lasts me the rest of my life. SAMPLE IT
Angelus Libri07/07/24 09:05
Good projection and performance. The fragrance itself I'm not too thrilled about. The drydown is an annoying interpretation of Encre Noire with some ambrox sitting a top citrus. Last easily 10hrs
Jessica6339007/07/24 08:03
Smells like a grapefruit cleaning product, but I will add I typically don't like any grapefruit forward scent so my opinion may be a little biased.
holyslap07/06/24 22:29
@Pagyeman
decided to get a bottle based off of your review. so yes, hate you sir.
Pagyeman07/06/24 20:28
If you’re thinking of getting this fragrance but you’re concerned about the negative reviews please go ahead and get it. This is a fantastic fragrance. It doesn’t smell like most of the fragrances people claim it reminds them of. However, there is 5% similarity to TDH but even with that, to catch a whiff of TDH , you would have to be actively sniffing past the ambergris just so you can get that grapefruit and if you’re doing that then you’re on a hate project.
FreshLiving07/06/24 09:10
The opening is indeed a great splash of grapefruit and quickly after the entry, a dry vetiver is in the game. I get a lot of woods and the lovely marine ambergris too.
Overall you’re left with a continual bright citrus (which is impressive), vetiver, marine-like scent which is effervescent and refreshing while remaining grounded.
It’s a fantastic scent. The only gripe I have is that the bottle should have been yellow and clear, much like their other fresh scents such as greenley and sedley.
Perseus and Neroli Sauvage by Creed have a similar vibe to me. Both a bursting citrus and ambergris which is predominantly running the show. However this has more complexity from the woods.
Wore my sample twice this weekend and my girlfriend loved it and so did I.
When we were napping she said I smelled like the Mediterranean in Italy during the day. Citrus and the sea. I have to agree.
Gamecocks1!07/04/24 06:54
I've learned you can't go by the ratings on these sites cause not everyone can afford niche quality. I know this is a dam good fragrance love it so good. People will hate cause pdm, initio, creed is popular. They are for a reason. I know the rating should be 4 or more all day long. Perseus stands alone and does not smell like this and that. I put it beside the ones that people say it smells like and it doesn't smell like none of them. Y'all are full of shit. Great job pdm they did dam good on this one and the longevity is out of this world. High quality like always 👌
Berk Y.07/03/24 12:20
PDM knows that their summer perfumes are limited they are working on it but they are not successful. PDM has not released a truly significant perfume in the last 2 years
wolfamongstlambs07/02/24 16:43
My bottle arrived from fragbuy today (thanks guys),
I had it out of the box and on my skin 15 mins after i picked it up from the post office. Its not bad at all. Think elysium and light blue forever at a 1:1 mix. Thats all i have right now!
Rjacks2307/02/24 09:48
This is an amazing fragrance. It doesn't smell like anything I've smelled, similar to somethings I'm sure but nothing came to mind when I sprayed it. Smells so very good. Sedley is my all time favorite from PDM, this may be 2nd..
BennyIvansson07/02/24 06:13
It starts with a zesty and spiky citrus, but quickly becomes sort of creamy with the black currant note. Shortly after, the top notes lays to rest on some vetiver and wood. Nuclear performance even in high heat, on par with CDNIM Parfum. Compliment galore for 20+ hours. If you find it discounted or on eBay, get it.
Edit: It's day three and I can still detect it. This is the best performing EDP I've ever tried, including many heavy winter scents.
Gamecocks1!06/30/24 15:57
Y'all people are full of shit lol. Y'all say it smells like this and Y'all love that one but want to hate on pdm lol. Can't take away that pdm, initio is one of the best houses around. I absolutely love perseus so dam good. Y'all don't take any time with a fragrance. Y'all also leave review and don't even have a sample or bottle. Gone with the lies this is a beautiful fragrance so good. Great Job pdm
ShooF06/30/24 07:49
Ok I'll start by saying that anyone just testing this on paper wouldn't buy it! Straight off the paper it's a sharp grapefruit smell to be honest you'd really need to like sharp citrus but straight on skin it's totally different, yes it's still grapefruit but the sharpness is gone. Look it's not unpleasant but at +£200 per bottle I'd want more, quickly became a close skin scent that yes did stay around for hours but you had to put your nose to it to pick it up. Strangely the later drydown was pure Delina!
RayCashhhh06/25/24 16:32
Perseus is everything I was told Terre D'Hermes would be. Whereas TdH is described as being a "dirty orange", this is a very bright grapefruit intensified with vetiver. Strictly for daytime use only, it's as bright as its bottle. It performs very well considering its high price tag; still too expensive but certainly a good offering from PdM. 8.5/10
Radius06/25/24 08:48
You get a nuclear blast of grapefruit for the first 10-20 seconds, it actually stung my nose a little.
Then slowly but surely, the vetiver starts to appear.
There's nothing stopping the persistent, non-stop battle of citrus vs. vetiver in this fragrance until about 15-20 minute mark where a draw is announced and it's about 50% grapefruit/50% vetiver.
The vetiver is grassy.
I'm going to skip this offering from Parfums de Marly. Not quite my cup of tea.
SmallCookie406/24/24 08:38
very good performing Citrus scent, If you can get it for $150-$200 125ml get it !
Ronanthelibrarian06/22/24 23:08
Yes, there are many other scents that occupy the same hyper-grapefruit subgenre. This one adds to the pile with a high-quality tartness, that disperses into a dry woody finish. Performance is good, especially for a freshie (6-8+ hrs). I’m a PDM fan, and while admittedly uninventive, a good frag is a good frag.
Leans more energetic businessman than pool party fratboy. Simple, but effective.
KeishaDiamonds71306/21/24 13:51
Got this in a buy online pick up in store mix up. And I’m KEEPING IT!!! It’s a creamy lemon clean scent
deya_alothman06/19/24 16:56
العطر جميل جداً وجذاب ، إفتتاحية حمضيات قوية وقاعدة خشبية مسكية مع بقاء تأثير الحمضيات ، وثبات على الجسم يفوق 6 ساعات
eaudemale06/19/24 07:20
Doesn’t smell like Terre Eau Givree which is a nasty cold marihuana smell... this smells exactly like Terre Eau Fraiche but longer lasting plus a citrus cleaning product note. There I saved you whatever this is worth. Just get Terre Parfum instead, classier, good performance for a great price.
Also, people who write a full blown book of a review of a fragrance reading the notes through some word vomit but don’t have any idea about notes, nuances or aroma-chemicals give me the creeps.
Gamecocks1!06/19/24 06:42
I know once it hits discounters the numbers are going to go up just like althaïr did. Lot of people can't afford it and has not tried it yet but it will go up for sure. Love perseus so dam good I'm obsessed with this one. It does stand on its on. Don't believe the lies out here put your nose on it for yourself.
vikingboy77706/19/24 05:40
Love love love this. Its strong fresh and long lasting. It's heavy on citrus grapefruit in the opening then settles into a woody vetiver aroma but always with the citrus in the mix. It's a great summer scent for day or night. I'm really Impressed and I think it's worth the price for this quality and performance. Thumbs up from me👍
Nachooo06/17/24 19:37
I can see why people smell BO, it seemed like that to me in the opening, but I think it was just the grapefruit note. The fragrance really mellowed out in the dry down. Now, I get a pleasant woody, citrus scent. I guess I expected more from PdM, this really does seem, for lack of a better word…boring. Again, this is not bad at all, just boring and repetitive. Can we please get an exciting fragrance, something new and daring would be nice, and enough of the grapefruit fragrances…please!!!
Phresh Man06/17/24 13:15
Parfums De Marly is one house that is super overhyped! I'm usually at Nordstrom trying all their latest offerings and they just fail to amaze me as is the case with this scent...
It's just so boring! It's like a more potent, creamy version of Terre de Hermes-
Fountain3006/17/24 11:32
Oh god this smells like straight up B.O in the drydown. No thanks
dayvvyd8906/17/24 07:16
Something in this one Im not a fan of. strong orange smell throughout for me but almost in a chemical cleaner type of way. strange because i like this category and similar fragrances but this one i do not like.
Moruzzi06/16/24 13:46
I can't understand this perfume. It is a fragrance without depth, without character. Certain notes are disturbingly synthetic. After a certain time it becomes annoying. I've tested it several times, I don't like it. Therefore, even if it had cost 50 euros, I would not buy it.
Rich._90906/14/24 18:21
Smells like a Spicy bitter orange peel, For the warmer sunny weather for sure . It might not suit some people it might be a little abrasive for some but if you can get over that it’s a nice scent.
Gamecocks1!06/13/24 18:42
Love this fragrance so dam good! Come on pdm lovers put your votes in. I know this is higher than 3.88. I know it hasn't had time to get around. A lot of people can't afford it. This reminds me of when althaïr first came out and look now how popular it is. I know perseus will do the same
Cocosette06/13/24 10:55
Vetiver bomb with subtle citrus and ambroxan nuances. Little evolution from top to drydown. Very "on your face" kind of fragrance.
Nothing to my liking here.
Moyashi0406/13/24 10:32
Sharp. Really sharp citrus opening but I didn't dislike it. I actually quite liked it.
7/10
Colby_K9806/11/24 09:13
Perseus does have a similar scent profile to the opening of Terre D’Hermes and compares almost to the likes of Elysium as well as a couple other fragrances. However, Perseus does have its own unique twist and last much longer than the others. It’s definitely worth getting from discounters and I agree the retail price of this fragrance is not worth it. There is a great quality, performance and a great fragrance profile behind Perseus even if it does share similar DNA with others. To me I prefer Perseus over the others as the performance is much better.
John Mallen Adair06/10/24 09:55
Longest lasting fresh fragrance I've bought,it is in the style of a few above, but is totally it's own thing I absolutely love it, just as usual to expensive.
sdronen06/10/24 06:23
Very few fragrances have got me as excited as this one. Absolutely sublime spring/summer scent. I ordered a sample and was immediately ready to purchase a full bottle within the first 5 minutes--the opening was that ethereal. But I held back and waited for the a full day to see how it developed and performed. By that evening I was even more excited to order a full bottle. It really mellowed out nicely over the course of the day, with the wood notes really picking up as it moved into the evening hours. 6-8 hours of very solid performance and then it transitioned into something calmer, darker (well, compared to the original brightness of the opening), and sultry. This is the perfect scent to apply in the afternoon for summer, let it do it's warm, citrusy, playful things...and then let it transition into that woody/grassy evening scent that is perfect for watching a sunset or drinks on a patio. This is seriously a masterpiece.
jbozz06/07/24 00:28
This stuff is like scented sunshine and it grew on me like crazy. If last year’s Althair was vanilla heaven, Perseus is the citrus equivalent. Its easy to dismiss this as a niche take on the Terre D’Hermes dna (it kinda is, though definitely has its own vibe), but this is so much smoother and refined to my nose. That initial grapefruit blast in the opening is one of the most photorealistic notes I’ve ever smelled in a fragrance, and I find it highly addictive. Juicy and bittersweet. The citrus in Perseus somehow never really fades completely on my skin and it blends beautifully with the cashmere wood and vetiver in the drydown. It pleasantly reminds me of citrus groves in California and how the air smells around them at dusk when they’re giving off that lovely aroma. Anyway this one is just super clean and put together. Definitely gentlemanly and a very solid release with equally solid performance. This wafts so nicely in the drydown and it will be getting a ton of wear this summer. And the bottle is one of my favorite PDM’s, just a gorgeous solar yellow color which totally matches the scent. 🌞
Mina Abdo06/06/24 21:49
Another solid summer fragrance from PDM.
Clean fresh citrusy with masculine and mature background.
Performance and projection are really good.

A Fragrance Fit for Royalty: Parfum de Marly Perseus Review
My rating:
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
Review:my own subjective opinion based on my experience with niche perfumes and studies in fragance chemistry at the universite nice Sophia antipolis in france.
Parfum de Marly Perseus is an exquisite fragrance that truly captures the essence of luxury and sophistication. From the moment you spray it on, you are transported to a world of opulence and elegance. The blend of notes is masterfully crafted, resulting in a scent that is both alluring and memorable.
The opening notes of Parfum de Marly Perseus are a burst of freshness, with zesty bergamot and juicy pineapple dancing together in perfect harmony. As the fragrance settles, the heart notes reveal a captivating blend of jasmine and patchouli, adding depth and sensuality to the composition. Finally, the base notes of ambergris and vanilla create a warm and inviting trail that lingers on the skin for hours.
What sets Parfum de Marly Perseus apart is its exceptional longevity and sillage. With just a few sprays, this fragrance envelops you in a captivating aura that is bound to turn heads and leave a lasting impression. The quality of the ingredients used is evident, as the fragrance evolves beautifully throughout the day, revealing different facets at every stage.
Now, it is important to address the issue of negative reviews that some people have given to Parfum de Marly Perseus and other exceptional fragrances like Aventus. It is disheartening to see that some individuals unjustly criticize these fragrances simply because they are exceptionally good. It seems that these individuals have formed an unjust bias against popular fragrances that have gained a well-deserved reputation.
It is essential to remember that fragrance preferences are subjective, and what may appeal to one person may not necessarily please another. However, dismissing a fragrance solely based on its popularity or the positive reviews it receives is unfair and undermines the artistry behind its creation.
Parfum de Marly Perseus is a fragrance that deserves to be celebrated for its unique blend of notes, exceptional performance, and the luxurious experience it provides. It is a testament to the craftsmanship and dedication of the perfumers who have created this olfactory masterpiece.
In conclusion, if you appreciate fine fragrances that exude elegance, sophistication, and leave a lasting impression, Parfum de Marly Perseus is a must-have in your collection. Don't let biased opinions dissuade you from experiencing the sheer beauty and allure of this extraordinary fragrance.
Remember, true fragrance connoisseurs judge a fragrance based on its merits and individual experience, not on the opinions of others. Embrace the pleasure that Parfum de Marly Perseus brings, and let its captivating aroma transport you to a realm of luxury and indulgence.

I sampled this from a decant I bought. The fragrance itself is nice, nothing revolutionary or new, but nice. Is very fresh and zesty citrics perfect for summer days. I dont know if it was the sample I got or what BUT this really lacks performance. I know freshies and citrusy fragrances usually have poor performance and longevity BUT at this price range everybody would expect for AT LEAST !! 6 hours of longevity. I got like 45 minutes of projection and like 3 hours MAX in my skin like putting my nose DIRECTLY TO MY SKIN. It sort of gave me the Vibe that MOLECULE 01 by itself gives in my skin. Maybe Perseus might be a good layer option for citrus fragrances I dont know, but I wouldn't pay all that money for a layer frag. This perfume doesnt gives me PDM style. IMO this tend to lean more towards Acqua Di Parma sort of creations in their Blue Bottles line. In Conclusion .... IT IS A GOOD SCENT, but not worth the price. To Be Honest I wouldn't Pay more than $70 for this. There are WAY MORE BETTER OPTIONS out there for 1/4th of the price.
bigboipascal06/05/24 12:01
Vetiter is not annoying and bitter. The lemon is extremely strong and makes the entire perfume come together perfectly. I got a 2ml sample for 15€ I think I underpaid cuz this stuff is amazing. 9/10. Only downside is price, but perfume is high quality and mind blowing.

I love the scent, but either I can't smell it after an hour or the performance sucks! I've had a friend wear it to make sure I was smelling it correctly and after an hour i couldnt smell unless my nose is directly on the skin. This isnt worth the value to me. Cool to have but i would return it to Saks if i could.Very much a citrus in the beginning, but dries down to a woody/tea type of smell.

Its very logical for new Houses like PDM , Xerjoff with no history to be inspired by houses with great history like Hermes ,that doesnt change the fact that most PDM are good quality and this Perseus is very very good .
Riceasnice06/04/24 07:21
This stuff bangs, just waiting for the English weather to match its vibrancy. Its a little too sweet at first but 30 minutes in and you're golden + the vetiver on the dry down is just perfect.
I swear some people on here want to smell bad to 'challenge' peoples perceptions, but who really has time for that in life.

Love it so dam good! I can't wait to rock it in the heat. Talk about complements. It is beautiful y'all. Don't listen to these dam liars on here. One they never smelt it and want to give a review on something they don't have lol. Love pdm, initio love this house my favorite. I'm not far from having them all. They did dam good on perseus and trust me people will say it smells like this. Guess what it doesn't that is how I know people are leaving false reviews. I understand the blast of citrus and grapefruit but it doesn't smell like no other. Put it side by side and you will see

This is just parfums de marly doing what they do best great unique fragrances with there own style and dna I love this after a few days of spraying it I felt the same about kalan initially not sure. But man this is simply stunning it has that creamy feel that alot of pdms have especially layton kalan haltane. I love this house they are beautiful fragrances I have 14 in my collection. If you wear perseus during the summer you will stand out the dry down is heaven. Anyone comparing this to designer freshies are sadly mistaken this is niche perfumery with high quality ingredients and naturals

Most of the reviews below are trash because they're just shitting on Perseus and calling it mid/trash because it's PDM. Which isn't fair. Especially because I'd suspect many people hating on it don't even have a bottle (as of this writing, it's not available for sale and very difficult to get your hands on).
I was able to snag a bottle of Perseus early, and so I actually have smelled this and worn a few days.
This is one of those fragrances where you need to wait for the dry down, and also smelling it in the air is better than up close.
I'll be honest, the initial spray has a light resemblance to bug spray, which could be a bit off-putting to some.
You must enjoy vetiver and grapefruit to like this fragrance.
The two are incredibly blended.
At first, I thought it was 70:30 vetiver to grapefruit, but after a few days with it, I'd say it feels more like 60:40 or even 55:45. The vetiver is strong.
Projection I'd say is very solid, especially for the first 4-5 hours.
Longevity, from me this is an 8-9 hour fragrance.
Due to the use of vetiver, this pushes out and the sillage is very good with it.
Age range I'd put on this fragrance is 30's and up, or an incredibly mature late 20's dude. Very masculine, and it'll be hard to see this falling into the unisex space. I wouldn't want my wife to wear this, personally.
I understand why people are making the Aventus, Vibrato and Tygar comparisons (because the notes mention grapefruit and vetiver), but once you actually smell this and compare, scents are worlds apart. It's not even close. It's like comparing apples and oranges. Having smelled Perseus, if somebody asks "does this smell like Aventus????" I would just laugh them out of the room.
The only fragrance that this actually smells close to is Terre D'Hermes (and anything out that's really similar to it.).
Even closer, Terre D'Hermes Eau Intense Vetiver. In my opinion, there's a pl;ace for Perseus and in some ways, it's more pleasurable to wear than Terre D'Hermes.
The opening is a bit harsh, but the dry down is great. Sillage is good!
This is going to be great in the Summer.
Worth buying a bottle to me.

Totally disagree with Gorin, PDM is a brand which cater to so all the frag heads. It’s a nice brand and I love it. Haters will hate.

It's a bit sad how many "comments" below are not actual reviews. What inspires someone to write in the review section about something they haven't tried, especially in a negative way, simply because you read the notes?
I received my bottle 2 days ago direct from PDM, so at least I've earned the right to speak. It was expensive. It is PDM. If you complain about this, buy Versace, it's cheaper. In my opinion, the price is worth it. I have 17 bottles of PDM and strongly believe very few brands compare. Perseus is excellent and falls somewhere in the middle of the PDM pack. I hate to say it but there are strong similarities here to Terre d' Hermes. Perseus is more sweet and playful. The vetiver is strong and often considered a mature note but a younger person can wear this one, whereas TDH is usually attracting an older crowd. The citrus notes are extremely natural and equally share the stage with the vetiver. If there was one negative (to me), this is not overly unique or original. All in all, I like it a lot. Performance is classic PDM. It fills the room and lasts all day.

It is similar to bvlgari tygar mixed with d’terre hermes .. and has distinct vetiver smell.. it is fresh scent and excellent for the summer.. it is mass appealling so safe to blind buy it as what i did.

I have to agree, this is a hodgepodge of Terre d'Hermes Eau Givree/Tre Fraiche/Elysium/LB Forever. The problem is it dosen't work and it actually smells low quality to me. Disappointing , especially after seeing the noted I figured this would be decent at least. Which Objectively it's ok, it's wearable but no way would I pay Niche price for this. You would be better off layering the above mentioned fragrances and figuring out a combination that works. It smells messy if I were to describe it. Unbalanced Grapefruit and Vetiver and the orange throws it of alot. Without the orange it might be alot better.
I'd reach for any of the others long before I'd reach for this. Definitely sample first, not a safe blind buy.

To each their own, I suppose.
luvonly.Dash04/24/24 05:28
on my skin it smells exactly like bug spray, DO NOT blind buy, make sure it is good on your skin first.
