Professional Football Player. He attended Louisiana State University, where he was the starting quarterback for the Tigers football team, leading them to a victory over Wake Forest in the 1979 Tangerine Bowl. He then played professional football as a quarterback for the Miami Dolphins and the Pittsburgh Steelers, leading the Dolphins to the American Football Conference championship in 1982 before losing to the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl XVII. He retired from professional football in 1986.
