Lion Spotlight

Ryan Overby

Ryan Overby

I knew I chose the right college when my entire freshman class started the year by singing praises to God together. The importance of having faith and praying with and for one another as a collective body helped me grow as a Christian and a student while I was at FHU.

Sheerah Hudley Davis

Sheerah Hudley Davis

During my time as a student at FHU I learned a lot of valuable lessons. One thing that stands out is the genuine desire of the people at FHU to have you there. Their words of wanting you at FHU are not just empty phrases; they truly mean it. Being at FHU made me feel wanted, loved and included. I never wanted to leave or be anywhere else.

The FHU Story

Be prepared for your future

The overwhelming majority (92%) of FHU graduates
are quickly employed within their field. It’s no wonder. While committed to strong academics through hands-on learning and service, our faculty and staff provide prayerful support for Lions in a loving, supportive Christian community. Employers can plainly see God’s work in their lives, empowering them to make a positive impact in all that they do.

Your Gifts: His Glory – Anna Marie Wyatt

Growing up right down the road from FHU, Anna Marie Wyatt did not want to come to FHU, but after experiencing the welcoming nature of the university, her mind was quickly changed. As her time at FHU progressed, her once simple doodles in her notebook have inspired her to make a career out of her talents.

Your Gifts: His Glory – Keith Mattix

Keith Mattix is a Computer Science major with a passion for using artificial intelligence for social good. He has seen how it can be used to aid hurricane relief efforts and has worked to create his own artificial intelligence network through our a.i. course on campus. He continues his work and research, so that one day people can use if to further God’s kingdom by helping those in need.

Your Gifts: His Glory – Thomas Yukich

FHU Bible student Thomas Yukich desires to become a pulpit minister. Yukich originally chose FHU because of its small class sizes but has become grateful for relationships built both inside and out of the classroom leading to internship opportunities.

Your Gifts: His Glory – Sarah Johnson

Sarah Johnson, an FHU Bible and interactive digital design student, is the daughter of a former FHU missionary-in-residence. Being raised in a missionary family, Johnson has used her life experiences to help her grow academically at Freed-Hardeman by writing and participating in University Scholars’ Day, a campus-wide celebration of scholarship and academic achievement.
