Notes –CrassiperidiumandLongiostiolumwere introduced by Matsumura et al. (2018 ) and Li et al. (2016a), respectively. The genera were treated as Pleosporales generaincertae sedis. Phukhamsakda et al. (2020), indicated thatCrassiperidiumclustered withLongiostiolumbased on multi-gene phylogenetic analysis. Therefore, they introduceLongiostiolaceaeto accommodate the distinct lineage in Pleosporales. Later, Wanasinghe et al. (2020b) designated a neotype forShearia formosaand based on DNA sequence data, confirmed the family placement ofSheariaas Longiostiolaceae. Currently, three genera are accepted in this family which areCrassiperidium,LongiostiolumandShearia.
