Notes – The monotypic genusCastanedosporawas introduced by Delgado et al. (2018) to accommodateSporidesmium pachyanthicola. It is characterized by cylindrical and brown conidiophores without percurrent extensions and long narrowly obclavate or subcylindrical, mutiseptate conidia with rounded apex and truncate base (Delgado et al. 2018).Sporidesmium pachyanthicolawas historically assigned inTeratosphaeriaceae(Arzanlou et al. 2007). However, combined ITS and LSU sequence data indicated that this species belongs toExtremaceae(Delgado et al. 2018).
