En ouvrant la porte à la circulation des méga-camions sur nos routes, une courte majorité de députés a fait le choix de l'accroissement de la compétitivité du transport routier, à rebours des politiques européennes de transport promouvant traditionnellement le report vers des modes plus vertueux sur le plan environnemental. La circulation de ces véhicules, en plus de la généralisation des camions de 44 tonnes pour le transport international, fait par ailleurs peser un risque sur la sécurité routière et la maintenance de l'infrastructure.
J'ai donc voté contre ce texte, qui est incompatible avec les objectifs de décarbonation des transports fixés par l'Union européenne.

Avec la poursuite de l’agression illégale et unilatérale russe contre l’Ukraine, l’Union est déterminée à continuer à soutenir l’Ukraine sur le plan économique. Il y a un an, la Commission avait proposé la suspension des droits de douane pour les produits ukrainiens importés dans l’Union afin de soulager la pression économique subie par le pays à la suite du blocus russe, et pour assurer la disponibilité de ces produits agricoles.
Cette suspension expirait le 3 juin prochain et il était essentiel de la prolonger pour renvoyer un signal clair de soutien à l’économie ukrainienne. Un an après l’adoption de cette mesure, il est aussi évident que sa mise en œuvre doit être améliorée.
Des crispations au sein des États membres sur la gestion de l’importation des céréales voient le jour. Nous ne devrions pas nous diriger vers une logique de réponses unilatérales ni apporter des réponses uniquement conjoncturelles et partielles qui fragilisent le marché unique. Il est essentiel d’apporter une réponse européenne, de long terme et surtout structurelle. N’oublions jamais que certains pays manquent encore de ces produits pour se nourrir. Nous avons besoin d’y répondre en Européens pour garantir à la fois notre soutien inconditionnel à l’Ukraine et la stabilité du marché commun agricole, afin qu’aucune filière ne supporte un coût disproportionné.

Les discriminations racistes sont encore malheureusement une réalité en 2022, et nécessitent d’être activement combattues au plan européen, par les mesures concrètes présentées dans le rapport. Je déplore toutefois que la terminologie utilisée dans le texte puisse laisser entendre qu’il existe plusieurs races humaines, ce qui est scientifiquement erroné et sert justement de base à un discours discriminatoire. Je me suis donc abstenu sur ce rapport d’initiative.

In accordance with Rule 143 of Parliament's Rules of Procedure, any individual Member may table a motion for resolution on a matter falling within the spheres of activity of the EU.
