Kryzhynka Capitals officially announced the suspension of its participation in the Ukrainian hockey championship .

'Unfortunately, due to the failure of the Hockey Federation of Ukraine to fulfill certain provisions of the section of the agreement 'On participation in the Ukrainian Hockey Championship' (clause 3.1.9), we are forced to announce that the Kryzhynka-Capitals team is terminating its participation in the competition.'

'The position of the club owners is that HC Kyiv Capitals and the teams from its structure do not consider it possible to participate in competitions or events with the participation of persons convicted of crimes or involved in corrupt actions.'

'In particular, we are talking about the appointment of Andriy Kichi as a referee, who cannot be involved in official Kryzhynka-Capitals matches.'

'Therefore, due to a breach of contract, we are forced to announce the suspension of the team\'s participation in the Ukrainian championship. Accordingly, the match against Storm will not take place,' says a statement on the club\'s official website.

The IIHF announced the creation of a new international national team tournament called the "European Nations Cup".

The decision was made at the organization's congress in Stockholm.

12 teams will take part in the competition.
